Whipping up an atmosphere over the tannoy
John Boy Saint replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
I have looked and looked for that clip but can't find it anywhere, even the following night it was exciting, as you say the the Solent commentator was whipped up into quite a fremzy almost to the point of needing to be dragged into the car park and hosed down before he set the West Stand alight. -
Only issue I have found is having followed a link to a yarn from Facebook on my iPhone, is that the page is in a bit of pickle, in that you get the heading then a white space, then found I had to drag the screen over to the right hand side to read the article.

You're welcome, it's what these pages are for................ Shame you won't be getting a free Doughnut and beer off their chairman to celebrate his Birthday this time.!

Basingstoke to M1 is average an hour tops even with the roadworks, and folks dicking around on both the M3 & 25 (I go to the next junction up the M1 from the airport on a regular basis) M25 to Luton Airport is 20 mins. Not sure what M3 from Southampton to Blazingsmoke is like of a morning. Time you have to be there traffic should be easing off. I would check AA Roadwatch just to inspect your route for serious hold ups. If you open the curtains and its raining don't dilly dally, I would get on with your departure as the road fills up with faffers!

Fraser often seems conscious of his height and has a face downwards looking out from under his eyebrows posture, add that to a snapper in the dark suddenly banging off a burst of images in your face, you can guarantee the happy snapper will be reaching for the Kleenex on seeing the results of his next exclusive in the News of the World: "Englands #2 Keeper leaves London nightclub off his tits". Actually you could apply that to most of those pictures, step out of a dimly lit club into the night, Pow!! Strobe light going off in your face, you are going to pull some funny faces. I'm more concerned that Klopp has sent the quiet one of the ex Saints to start the tapping up for next summer!!

Put LE2 7SQ into your Sat Nav That should put you on Freemans Common Road, which is a trading estate a few minutes walk from the King Power Stadium. It is a one way loop system and most of the units not open "give up" their frontage to match day parking. I think last year most of them were managed by a local charity benefiting from the funds. I do suggest that you drive almost right the way round to find an available yard with space, as it can be a bit of a chore queuing to get out if you opt for one of the first ones on the one way system. There is an indoor Cricket Centre almost right round where to where you enter the loop, they normally provide a "free" pint inside as part of your parking charge. Which might also be useful if you are also in need of the "facilities" especially for your daughter (knowing what kids are like).

Mrs JBS not too happy there was no popcorn available for away fans!!!!

As we were walking up from Stratford, Dad and his teenage daughter were marching along, and he was chuntering on about it being a blooming stupid walk, she replied it's not that bad, to which he responded, "well you won't be saying that when its ****ing down with rain and we've bloody lost again". Even West Ham fans in earshot couldn't help but laugh at his grim outlook.

Like was just said by Turkish, 1st half West Ham were camped in their own half for long periods, with VVD and Fonte playing between each other right up on the half way line. West Ham were playing like the primary objective was not to concede, if they could nick one on the break that would be a bonus. I thought, although un-spectacular, we showed a lot of patience probing and prodding and not doing anything silly. Then we got through them and Charlie did the business and the game was changed, in the last 5 minutes West Ham were in our half in greater numbers. i don't get this "the opposition were awful" line, I think we just don't give them the chance to play. 2nd half we just kept our foot on their throat, only when we scored the second did we release the pressure a little. So glad we were on the lower tier, you felt for the folks on the second tier when you looked back them. Also I have never heard so many negative comments from home fans, so many were beaten before they got into the ground.

You said many people said he was defensively poor on Wednesday, that couldn't have been further from the truth, he had a solid game, and unless I had a snooze whilst watching in the ground I can't recall a single moment of note for Palace that came from his "poor" defensive play. if you look at the MOTM vote for the game on Wednesday "many people" considered him worthy of their vote: and on here that speaks volumes.

Today I will be playing in the garden with my Chainsaw........l but will no doubt sit down for a brew around final score.
-
Just who were these "many people"? Handful of mithering old blokes sat in the Snug down the Dog & Duck?!!! Blimey I only came on here to say that I see Jonathan Moss is our ref tomorrow................... What joy. must stop posting after a drink.

Oh do cheer up its Friday! As most threads go I think it's a steady ramble running though our European odessy this season. Some folks have got their knickers in a twist and it quickly fizzles out, some people are getting understandably up tight as they want a ticket. Most are interested as to how folks are getting to places. There is a flight out of Gatwick on the 20th October that Easy Jet should just call the Saints special, so there will be a load of posters on here meeting face to face rather than over the ether. You talk to fans of other teams, or armchair fans there is very little empathy about Saints playing at the Saints Siro, come on here and it's like kids on Christmas Eve as just about everyone has a bloody big present under the tree they can't wait to open. Some kids Parents haven't put their box under the tree yet, but going on ticket sales so far, there will be loads more finding one there soon................ Potentially 8700 Saints fans descending on Milan, that is bloomin amazing. Last time I looked a definition of Forum is a place of discussion, and this discussion has remained on topic (which for on here is flipping miracle) If you don't like it - Don't let the door bang on your @R$e on the way out! Yes I have been drinking: as its not a school night for me -
I like Puel................. "Payet is dangerous on free kicks, what are you going to do about them"........................ yeah like he is going to tell you............... the reply starts and a minute later you have forgotten what the original question is. I must get a recording of a few of his interviews onto my iPod for those nights of insomnia, as his soft quiet speaking just lulls you off into a state of peace and tranquility. When you hear his interviews its strange to see him get animated on the sidelines.

I always said that Pontius Pilate and the Romans were ahead of their time................ and a bit like the moaning on here, you still had folks asking "what have the Romans ever done for us?!!". -

Just a little thing for those travelling to Israel, as it states you won't get a passport stamp but a slip of paper that you have to keep safe to present when leaving the country. You get these in a few places around the world now (which is a shame). I have them travelling to China and Hong Kong. Silly as it sounds an elastic band round your passport to hold them safe is a sensible "fashion accessory", for piece of mind especially if you get a bit beered up. I would imagine that the Israeli officials might be as inhospitable, or worse, than the Chinese if this slip of paper is mislaid. -
Looking at the Palace players in yellow the other night compared to our lads in their flattering stripes, if Charlie looks like he is carrying a few extra pounds then the Palace players looked a right bunch of lardy tubsters..................... even more so when they were standing next to the ref!

Nice to see the person who wrote that has a sense of humour regarding the ban on "cracking seeds and nuts" Made me think of a trip to Portman Road some years back, there was a chap in the Saints section pre match sat chatting to a steward munching through Pistachios, by the time he was finished the empty shells must have been up to his ankles.
