Overall we seem to be very disciplined where refs descisions are concerned, with the odd exception here and there. If we go into this game knowing that we are going to get chuff all off Clattenburg, as I don't see him as the kind of bloke who would let accusations slide, then that will make it an even bigger test for him. Lallana being sent off in the 64th minute for something very innocuous would be most interesting.

So they already had a Customer Relations manager, who managed to piddle off the bulk of the block 20 ST holders when they were evicted without notice. And now we are getting a Supporter Relations Manager what's the difference as I thought that in this modern day world of money driven football all Supporters were now all viewed as customers?

Lambert ' desperate' to join west ham
John Boy Saint replied to The Majestic Channon's topic in The Saints
I thought that Osvaldo lumping Jose was the catalyst for the emergency brake being applied to this, I can see in some bizarre way the fact that a £1m journeyman player keeping a £15m (or however much) player sidelined would have prevented NC having more big money to squirt up the wall on the next golden boy, especially as 2 out of the 3 £10m+ players were proving to be less than impressive. So shipping him out would have smoothed the way. I am sure all will be revealed at sometime in the future. -
The real reason that we sacrificed the cups...
John Boy Saint replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
Not a surprise if it is in his contract along with sod the cup, as Cortese was not impressed that Pardew pursued the JPT against his wishes as getting out of league 1 was the only priority. That said he thought the day out at Wembley was one of his best days out ever. However he felt that with the JPT in the cabinet Pardew relaxed and took the teams foot of the gas in pursuit of getting into the play offs at least. Still the team put out yesterday wasn't a naive bunch of squad stumblebums they know how the system works and how to play in our style yet our fluidity was hardly there to be seen, on the flip side Poyet stuck out a lot off fringe players all of whom would be fired up to be in contention for the league cup final in a couple of weeks. -
Even the interview from Perez was as much of a crock of $H1t as the performance.
-
Pathetic!! I have just wasted 119 minutes of my life watching that!!! i really feel for the poor sods who made the effort to go up there, the club should be refunding every single one of them.

Bloody hell a shot on target from big Jos of all people

The pitch looks a bit sticky with the odd quick bit here and there

Good Luck Danny, cheers for helping to get us to where we are today. And he did also provide one of those amusing moments while watching Saints away at Watford. Whilst the players were warming up he came to the hoardings right in front of us to retrieve the ball, and being 4-5 rows from the front in a good old fashioned ground he was closer than many Saints fans had previously been. 2 middle aged Ladies stood alongside us, one proclaims "Oooh that Danny Fox he's gorgeous!!" to which the other replied "Cor! Not arf!" followed by some wag telling them to "Steady on Ladies".

Just a thought on Tuesday nights game, we played with the finesse and swagger that had been stuttering to show since late November, with the players not being enamoured with him, you could wonder that if they knew this move was afoot that a dark cloud was beginning to disperse above the team. Especially when you sprinkle a little of what Jose said about the unity of the team on Solent post match.

Still the questionable as the we actually only get to see that in super slo-mo the ref see's it in real time once only, the brush is so minute how can he see it from 20yrds behind? Anyway its all done and dusted now.
-
Which if you watch the Brown tackle he may just brush the ball but he does not take the ball away from Gaston, in fact Gaston has actually played it in the direction he will run in towards goal, and takes out Gaston without actually gaining control of the ball or more importantly diverting its path, its exactly the same. Rose actually got a good contact on the ball. In our case I think the Clattenburg spat had a bearing on A the decision and B our soft reaction.

Seeking absolution for the sins of his parents, who prostituted the footballing ability of their own son by forcing the sale of him to Arsenal. To have come out 2 seasons running to applaud the crowd, makes me think that there is a little voice in his head asking "why did you leave?".
-
I think the Chambers speed issue is being clouded by the height and subsequently stride length issue creating the illusion of Clyne being "so much faster" there have been a few occasions where the ball has been pinged deep up the right wing (there was one last night) and you have thought "oh dear Chambers isn't getting that" then promptly gets to it and brings it under control. Its a very nice very healthy positional competition, on the other side Luke can blow hot and cold without too much fear of being dropped, whereas with Chambers & Clyne they are 2 different shaped players who are keeping each other on their toes.

Thought he was top drawer tonight, I have to say having seen him really for the first time in Spain pre season how impressed I was at WBA first game of the season didn't look to phased by it all, and since those 2 first viewings whenever I have heard his name read out on the starting team sheet have had no fears for him at all. The guys on the conveyer belt at the academy really have a viable target at this club and one of the best bits is so far everyone of them who have had a chance have taken it with the confidence of much older players.

Thoroughly enjoyed that tonight, most enjoyable to watch and a bloody good shift put in from the boys. Arsenal weren't allowed to play first half did what you expected second half but our equaliser was a real kick in the guts for them. hard to pick a MOTM, Morgan at times wouldn't have looked out of place in an operating theatre he is like a top draw surgeon with the effortless precision he goes about his business. Once again Chambers doesn't look out of place at all. Maya looks like he is getting up to speed knocking off the lack of match rust, a few times in the first half he had already thought what Giroud was going to do before the pass to him was yet to be made. Young Sam, you give that boy match time against seasoned professionals and he will be immense for us, very good full Debut in fact when you look at the money in Yellow shirts cruising round tonight not one of our young nippers looked out of place competing with them. Jose on Solent tonight talking about the team unity was a pretty powerful statement, any Saints fan hearing that can't fail to have felt really good about Saints right now. I now have a month where more than likely I will not be seeing Saints play in person thanks to work, so what a great game to keep me going until March.

Very good.

I quite fancied going to Spurs but now it's at one of those fidgety times on day on a Sunday

West Ham trying to loan him, blimey him and Ravel Morrison in the same squad! I know BFS likes his teams to be a bit robust on the pitch them 2 together will make My Little Donkey and Nolan look like a pair of big Jessies! The East End of London will never have been so quiet of an evening since the days of the Krays and Mad Frankie. You do wonder just how much Balliotelli's house would have been left standing if Osvaldo had been round Mario's on the night of the Firework caper.

FA Cup 5th round draw thread (Sunderland Away)
John Boy Saint replied to rickylambert's topic in The Saints
Stick a couple of theirs up in the air in the first 10 minutes and they will be backing off through fear of missing the League Cup Final, better still do what we should have done in the league match and been right out of sight by half time. -
