This is Great Britain remember greed is King we could empty the Club Shops every Saturday and they would still put up the prices. That reduction of 700 season ticket sales last year, mentioned above could largely be down to the cack handed eviction of many long term ST holders from Chapel block 20, we have only seen a handful of folks we use to sit with last year this year.

If tried that here you would only get a mile at the most before you vanished into a pot hole!!

Actually if any of you with youngsters you would like to take to Wembley (or you have never been yourself) ths is a Golden opportunity as these Cup finals are great, without the 10's of thousands easy in easy out and you get to take the place in without the jostling. Plus you get to support your local team. Went up there to support the mighty Glossop North End in the FA Trophy (?), my Sister lives in Glossop with her family, a few years back. What a thoroughly enjoyable day out, sadly they lost but everyone seemed to have a great day. In these days of the FA Cup not holding the mystique it once did, for non league teams (Whitley Bay asde) these Cup Finals are the World Cup Final. Good Luck Sholing

Blimey Mikey good job tickets were scarce at the Dell for you to see Lee Todd and Ali Dia!

Niemi Golac Svensson Richards Bridge Lallana Matty Schneiderlin Case Boyer Channon Manager: Lawrie Mac Bench: Flowers, Baird, Big Dave Watson, Rod and Danny, Lambert, Telfer. That was harder than it looks not helped by my Saints viewing in person going back to 1977, (god help anyone trying to do this who has watched further back) Still managed to get my Goal scoring hero in the team.

Rather bizarrely when we have conceded a goal to put us behind I have noticed the players body language, seems to take on a collective air of forgetting how to play football, almost "I don't like this I want to go home". Very strange when we have all seen how very comfortable they are with the ball.

He missed what just about all of the Chapel, saw a clear hand ball.

For such a gifted player, Suarez disappointed me for the cheap free kicks he spent so much energy on trying to get, especially when he had already beaten the player.

We do fanny about once the 18yrd box homes into view, friggin well light one once in a while, a deflection will get you a goal or at worse a corner.

Just an up date from page one for those who might be curious. The Steak was divine and the Wine Sublime: so the day had a silver lining................. Cheers!
-
If the boot was on the other foot I would be delighted at stealing a result like that. We so need to be much more snappy around the box it's almost like we are trying to score the perfect goal. frustrating day, still I have Fillet steak for Tea tonight with a nice bottle of red to wash it down, so not all bad (unless I got a chewy bit and the wine is corked).

Blimey that is like the thinking of Medieval times and Witch Hunts................. And in a country with Nuclear Weapons!!

Thornhill obviously everyone on here is shy, good luck with your operation: with you missing the rest of the season it must be pretty heavy duty.

I get the impression that he would have stayed at Espanyol had the board there not sold his jewels from under his feet, I can imagine that is very disheartening. Lawrie Mac always showed the beauties of living in Hampshire to prospective players before taking them to The Dell to nail them down, add to this that so many past managers and players still have properties or live in the area. Also various comments seem to point to the fact that his family are quite happy in the area. Ralph is also making noises that Mauricio is in his plans. And like the Mauricio has said he has a year left on his contract and there is no hurry regarding his contract. All of this leads me to believe that the chances of him staying with us are pretty good: however all managers know that they can be binned off at the drop of a hat so they are all going to be a bit cagey.

Certainly has Banana Skin written all over it, if we come out of the traps on fire like we know we can then it should be smooth running once one goal has hit the back of the net. But the seeing how they dug in V WBA and no doubt wounded by last weeks mauling at home we might find out if they have any character left in the tank.

Sunderland through to Champions League semi-final
John Boy Saint replied to CB Fry's topic in The Saints
Which apparently by the end of each season had gone from Navy blue to more of a Blackburn blue in the wash hence the change to Black which was a bit more colourfast all them years ago. -
That is a very lame pink and fluffy defence. Don't get me wrong I would be delighted if he came good, however maybe it comes from my line of work in selling, which is also a results based environment if I or anyone else isn't delivering the goods after 2 years you can pretty much expect to be heading out the door without the door banging on your backside on the way out.

With almost 2 seasons under his belt there is only one way, sorry two ways he us going to get it my friend: extract a digit to make himself a first choice pick, or pack his bags and play elsewhere.

Whilst a very valid argument for the chap, when you look at Lallana in isolation whilst he might not have been banging them in for fun which seems to raise the point of the greater chances he has had compared to Gaston, the bottom line is attitude. Lallana in the eyes of the fans through all our troubles has alway been a positive one, whereas Gaston like Osvaldo have come in with big price tags and shown a Billy Big ****** attitude yet have failed to deliver or shown over a full 90 minutes how good they really are. Positive attitude, the team that rolls out most weeks is full of the same ordinary players who show the right attitude, if Gaston showed the right attitude he would be asking questions of the manager everytime he took to the field or in training, but then when you look at international games Yoshida back from Japan quick smart Ramirez by comparison ambles back. If his attitude in application was right MoPo would be forced to pick him, Rickie Lambert off the bench is a man on a mission, Gaston Ramirez off the bench, loose the ball more often than not in the space of a few minutes, v Newcastle Morgan replacing Steven in midfield a Jack Russell chasing everything past his gate replaced by a Ninja straight off the bench. Its all down to attitude and application who makes the line up on a Saturday, 18-19 year old Academy lads opportunity given, opportunity taken, Gaston Ramirez opportunity given and treated as his god given right. MoPo's style of play requires workers and fair play to him if one of our most expensive players is not showing the right attitude he is not going to upset the balance of the side just by putting him in the team because of price tag and supposed ability, he is going to put players into the side because of their application and attitude.

Thats a worrying stat Bear!! Better have 8 pints of Doom Bar before Saturdays game as an anaesthetic.

Stop Press! Stevie G in a transfer tussle between Leyton Orient and Brentford: With Brentford having the edge due to them sitting tidily in the automatic promotion slots. In other news, Luke Shaw linked with Bury FC after staying in Ramsbottom for the weekend after the Manchester City game, sources close to Shaw claim the youngster was mightily impressed with the way the Shakers battered the Saints 4-0 in the 1900 FA Cup final. Mike Riley calls for the FA to give match officials translators to identify when foreign managers swear at them in their native tongue. At the end of the day there is very little we as fans can do about all this cobblers, as frustrating as it may be.

Whilst he was an expensive signing probably on eye watering money pw (to us mere mortals) surely his gross misconduct is serous grounds for a contract termination which at the end of the day does us no favours. Given the J-Rod situation if the players are willing to tolerate him, get him back on a reduced wage and tell him straight to bloody well grow up get his act together, and should someone show the vaguest Interest the club won't stand in his way. Otherwise he will end up playing in a lower league in some footballing backwater. If he has half a brain cell then he should know that the comments from Juve are a pretty damning black mark on hi CV. No doubt hs contract is bombproofed against such action, and of course Gordon Taylor will have us black listed for any such action against "such a precious talented player". Just a mere ramble.
