Pretty certain that Southgate commented on one of the times that JWP had been called up, that having known and played JWP at youth level he liked him and knew what he could bring to the game and that he had sometimes been accused of being his Father, or words to that effect. There is a bigger lad who sits in front of the Kingsland - he plays the role of subversive ball boy pretty well - we get a throw he is positive with passing the ball to Saints players, but more than once he has made to throw the ball to oppo players and either let is fall short of them or thrown it in a kack handed manner making it awkward for them. Think when we were time wasting v Bournemouth - JWP gave him a subtle thumbs up when he had faffed around retrieving the ball both sporting a rye smile.

That’s not say what is being produced isn’t top notch and sound as more often it is. Everything is above board, just to Western eyes reality makes some people go Hmmm. Ain’t nothing any of us can do about any of it - if we win on the pitch and steam up the league - the majority won’t give a tinkers cuss about what goes on behind closed doors at SMS and beyond.

I thought that was all part of the cunning plan to stop us being picked off each summer. Back to the thread subject, why would we want Lallana back here? He doesn’t offer anything special, would probably pollute the dressing room too, and he seems to be broken most of the time.

Anyone know how to get rid of the smell of Ambre Solaire. Our season summed up in 90 mins - moments of brilliance overly peppered with brain farts! With our points lost from being in a winning positions not a million miles off our points total for the season. The bright spark of hope being that whereas we use to collapse after conceding looking like rabbits in the headlights, feeling sorry for ourselves, that defeatist attitude seems to be a fraction of what it was. That said after a gift of goal we were almost so casual that Huddersfield could sniff the possibility of nicking a last hurrah to the Premier League. Still having squandered the game so cheaply Ralph has something going into the summer to kick backsides with for pre season. The pitch invader summed up the afternoon too - sauntered out to the middle, then ambled into the Chapel goal without one steward breaking a sweat to apprehend him.
