  1. Spock would have a fit with all this illogical business going on... or are we preparing for L1?
  2. Only seen a few games this season (more away thank God!) and what's been on Saints TV but: Kelvin Davis - improved immensely from last season. a good shot stopper but still flaps a bit at crosses and needs to command the penalty area with his defenders more (he's captain for God's sake). Still a worthy CCC keeper. Lloyd James - working hard at right back but is better suited to midfield when given the opportunity. Positional questionable although that maybe down to not having a consistent partnership either with the CBs or RM. Needs to stay on his feet when tackling. Oliver Lancashire - clumsy, needs to stay on his feet when tackling. Again doesn't help when partner CBs are different. Hasn't shown hes ready for the CCC. Jack Cork - top performer, shame he's not ours! Skacel - Glad he's come round to knuckle down for the team and has shown glimpses of wht he can do. Wish it was more and in the midfield. Chris Perry - OK player, relies on knowledge know his legs aren't as young! Alex Pearce - Inconsistent, but if he improves would make a good partnership with Perry. good header of the ball and brave too. Joseph Mills - useful prospect but can be naive and with such a young defensive line doesn't have the skill to recover. Jake Thomson - too one dimensional, has pace but doesn't beat a player by skill. Again good prospect but is being asked to do too much. Jason Euell - As the experienced outfield player for the team, he doesn't do enough. Rubbish first touch, all huff and puff and no quality. Lee Holmes - Has been a big miss and he was showing good form, confidence and skill in the early games. I don't think he alone can stop this slump though. I hope he comes back as the same player after this injury though players never seem to! Andrew Surman - Has shown glimpses of why other teams want to buy him although needs to work at his tackling and defending. Simon Gillett - has lost his early season promise. Could be a CCC player if he gets back to his is best. Good at breaking up the opposition play. Morgan Schneiderlin - From the little I've seen he has shown some quality passing and technique. However too much reliance on him I'm sure hasn't helped. Intelligent player. Oscar Gobern - haven't seen much of him. Adam Lallana - Will be a big talent as he has the know how and would excel in a better team. Good passer but needs to work on his shooting which lets him down. Bradley Wright-Phillips - flip a coin to see which BWP you will see. Time for him to get a grip - perhaps Fergy's hairdryer treatment for him to buck his ideas up? I remember the Soccer AM piece about shooting from the halfway line and he was the worst and his body language was negative. He just hasn't improved. David McGoldrick - Oh dear! Being asked to do a difficult job but rather than try to make the most out of the situation shrinks away. Undecided on him but would prefer Blackstock back! Jordan Robertson - Doesn't work with the team, sent back, dyer is better. Matthew Paterson - Not seen much but over the few years has shown promise. Tomas Pekhart - Either a waste of space or talent in our system. Gasmi - hahaha!
  3. If he can find 11 quality players, I'll think about forgiving him!
  4. he's done well, but didn't he flap for the crosses on the first two goals?
  5. I see Ranger the Danger has made it in the list... http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2008/nov/13/1 I wonder how many will actually make it though!
  6. I was thinking about scott sinclair, however he was poached from bristol rovers. I think this is the case with 90% of their scholars.
  7. I suppose it's more for scouting the youth, but still OTT, unless anyone knows that they have a collection of world beating youngsters?
  8. It's believed that ~15 scouts have been asked to go... wtf are Chelsea going with ~22 scouts in the first place!!!

    Gobern

He's already on a contract so out of our reach. Not sure how good is though.
  10. I saw this a while back and it explains the subject quite well: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7305998.stm
  11. My cousin is at Coventry academy, he finds it tough, mainly because he does other things - study as well as sports. But there is a big emphasis on performance in games which I thought strange for the youngsters, rather than skills based approach. Does anyone know if it is like it at Saints or have we really gone dutch?
  12. It would be very strange to see him at Saints as he has now been talked about on here!
  13. A loss if Kelvin is off form A draw if he is on form
  14. I'm in the original one, enjoying the scoreline care of Will.
  15. oh dear, the worst one... stress fractures of the base of the Fifth Metatarsal sometimes show a poor healing capacity. Do you know if he has been under the knife or had a cast on his foot?
  16. if it wasn't for gonig into administration, they would be in league one (I think).
  17. which one?
  18. There's more to it than playing games to gain experience. The young players are now responsible collectively for gaining points for survival. Normally, youngersters have gained exposure to the first team in one's and two's and have not been burdened by the additional pressure and could focus more on their performance and play like most do, without fear. Perhaps if the preparation of the team was better to handle the pressure then the performances would be better, it's all conjucture. What I struggle with is how will the team gain the wins and the confidence to stay in the league. Playing first team games as they are will not lead to this.
  19. sternyyy!!!
  20. ...and struggle against the drop.
  21. lack of investment
  22. It is for me although I'm a bit closer in Switzerland.
  23. BWP still doesn't count though!
