  1. Cork had first team experience at S****horpe and Bournemouth Potter had played in Liverpools first team - started 6 and sub in 7. I don't what to dampened people's optimism of players and the hcdajfu effect, but some prespective needs to be applied if we want to get out of this league as quickly as possible.
  2. OK Pancake, I'll simplify for you - being on the fringes of the first team means **** all. We are getting a reserve team player and a youngster at that. Maybe I've seen too many young reserve players failure when put in the first team so my expectations of his impact on the team is low at the moment.
  3. I would have preferred it if he actually got a game or two at that level as "on the fringes" still means that he was and is a reserve team player only. Let's hope he is better than the loans we had last season, which shouldn't be too difficult but at the same time I don't think it fair to build him up too much before he has a few games under Pardew.
  4. Nicknamed the snake...
  5. Looks like a utility player to cover/put on subs bench for the first teamers.
  6. and Forecast signed a four year deal!
  7. I'm surprised no one has suggest he's going to score against us, being an ex-player! Thought he was good for us, not sure what he can offer a premier team now apart from being a squad player if I'm honest.
  8. Yes see Alain's response re Charlton. At least his faults (positioning/marking/diving in) could be worked on with a bit of coaching, not something that could be done with Lancashire, who needs games to help progress. The Blackpool penalty was soft but the fact he went in on the wrong side didn't help.
  9. Part of the problem with the NHS is government interference with constant change of policy WITHOUT consultantion with those on the ground. Just when a new policy is established a new minister wants to put their mark on the way the NHS is run. Did anyone see the "Can Gerry Robinson fix the NHS programmes"? A great insight to where money is wasted and the power struggle of NHS Trusts: http://www.open2.net/nhs/index.html sorry this is off topic but thought there was genuine interest.
  10. Who are these "people" you talk about? So far on this thread only you have brought up rating defenders by goals they score!!!
  11. Saints only consided three while he was here, Blackpool (A), Burnley (H) and Wolves (A). He was at fault for the Blackpool one with a clumsy tangle of a challenge and he impeded a Burnley player running into the box. Saga (I think) was at fault for the Wolves penalty. Not quite four but maybe you were thinking he was at fault for all the penalties we considered this year including the game he didn't play? He also scored two goals, one a cracker! I'm not saying he should be signed, if we have money to spend there are better options, if not, he may prove worthwhile ad interim.
  12. I remember those days (not the smoking), now I'd be lucky to get passed pint number three! I'm sure the liver test wouldn't tell you anything you didn't know.
  13. I've obviously missed something, what's the connection to healthcare companies?
  14. How many do you have?
  15. deano - can we all have some fun - what's your userid and p/w for this site?
  16. But it was his signing and he was what 22/23 at the time.
  17. Well, that was pure comedy. Deano, you're got the biggest plonker on here with so much pulling going on! Congrats.
  18. umm yes, passing the buck time.
  19. fell pack 5.20 Bev
  20. But he's probably living in the same dream many of the supporters are. Only Gadamak can end this deal.
  21. He's not going... "Fahim, who is intent on adopting a low-key public persona, has no plans to hold a media conference before or after the Fulham match or to arrange any formal meetings with the supporters. " from http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/aug/11/sulaiman-al-fahim-portsmouth

  23. Indeed... we have been very very lucky!
  24. but then what FC? If the club had made it to the summer, do you really think it would have got better or Lowe and co would have gone? Surely the club would have continued to decline for another season or so before the inevitable would have happen. There is only so much the club can do to stop the decline, we went passed that stage at the first relegation.
