  1. Alex Neil has got the most out of his squad compared to Kieran Mckenna and his Ipswich squad.
  2. Was the evaluation part of the blob process in diplomatic appointments or was it purely a politically driven appointment?
  3. That’s why I’m a relaxed about it. It’s a long shot and there are the playoffs. Prefer Millwall to go up in second as Alex Neil has been excellent with his tactical acumen whereas Ipswich have not been consistent at all.
  4. From today’s Telegraph who broke the story: the EFL’s club financial reporting unit assessed their accounts for compliance, West Brom were informed of an alleged breach. The club have 14 days to respond from the date of the charge. The EFL has declined to comment. In a statement released on Monday afternoon, the club said: “West Bromwich Albion acknowledges media reports relating to the club’s compliance with the EFL’s profit and sustainability rules. “The club considers that it has fully complied with the P&S rules. The club will continue to co-operate with the EFL’s club financial reporting unit and looks forward to resolving this matter. Albion understands the concerns of supporters and thanks fans for their unwavering support of the team, whose success on the pitch during the final four games of the season remains our absolute priority.
  5. Today it seems, will arrive in the summer.
  6. The only thing I know about the new guy was fighting Orban on corruption as he was in the same political party before a split some years ago. Is he pro EU?
  7. I think some financial expert on a podcast said just the training ground running costs amount to £15m a year! It’s that and all the other non player overheads which will force the current owners to sell if they don’t get on top of the squad contract spend next season (and maybe more points deducted???). Anyone buying them will need deep pockets even if bought at a bargain price.
  8. Spark isn’t there at the moment and no invention from the crossing into the box when camped in their final third. Hoping Azaz makes up for his mistake.
  9. He didn’t correct the ‘sale’ of Toby to Spurs when asked by Foster. Pochettino replaced Adkins on the same day in January
  10. There was a business finance pod a couple of days ago stating that with most of the Championship clubs losing between 10-20 million a season. Ex AV chairman commenting on Eisner’s statement around wages but also the TV rights being so poor and a huge step down from the Premier League. The solidarity payment being peanuts and clubs chasing the dream of promotion. One way it can change is to market the Championship together with the Premier League rather than a competing league and player wages being more aligned to performance and release clauses.
  11. If you’re talking about SR then the abject failure of Valenciennes counts against them but Goztepe is a plus with promotion, just outside the Euro places this season. Saints worst points relegation is also a big failure. Only seen one positive player intra-transfer from the group - Matsuki, plenty of negatives.
  12. This is the beauty of the situation where realistically it’s a playoff place, with an absolute bizarre chance of getting second with four other better placed teams failing while a winning run in gives a chance of success. Add in a cup semifinal, it’s quite the exciting end to what was an awful start to the season.
  13. Szmodics has a knock, not sure he will make it. Brewster is out as well.
  14. It was great watching FAWA stream, with the commentary complaining about Saints players time wasting and the like! Although they did think it was a penalty with a foul on Edozie. Didn’t replay the incident so couldn’t tell.
  15. A shame Oxford didn’t win against the Skates today, it would have been Leicester and Skates, the two teams to screw over creditors in the relegation zone. certainly looks like two from those three to drop out into league one.
  16. Not sure of the top match, home wins for the rest of the fixtures.
  17. There is an option, but is there a deadline for it to be activated, also assume the terms would be similar.
  18. Isn’t it a squad selection game?. See if any fringe players can put in a performance to challenge anyone earmarked to go to the WC.
  19. Gerhard has always had an issue finishing a season at a club!
  20. Russell was too fabulous for his own good.
  21. @Tamesaint with respect to 5. How much financial muscle will they have?
  22. It seems where Still relied on player intuition and skill on how to play the game within a given structure, Tonda gives more detail to the players backed up by examples that the analysts have found in analysing opposition games. One reason why there is an increase in the number of supporting roles at the club.
  23. Would like both clubs that treated their creditors with disdain to go down.
  24. Keep winning, it puts pressure on the other teams. If the AI ‘modelling’ is accurate, it’s only an eight percent chance the games will align in Saints favour, so very much not going to happen.
