Correct, losing to Chelsea does not mean we will be in a reiligation fight, just like beating Crystal Palace did not mean we would be challaging for a top 6 spot. However only geting 5 points from Burnley home, Everton away, Leicester home, Crystal Palace away, Brighton home, Liverpool away, Wolves away and Chelsea home is disapionting.
-
Agree, all this crap about never expecting to beat the top six has only really been relevant the last couple of seasons. Before then we regularly won against the top 6 sides both before we were relegated and since we came back up.
-
Not received my beer voucher yet either, though considering it took about 5 days for the ticket office to get the codes working I'm not surprised
-
And your point is? We would have hopped to get more the 0 points from last season's fixtures too and what a successful last season turned out to be......
-
True, but you would have thought we might have managed to get more than a point from the two fixtures.
-
Yoshida Vestergaard Bednarek Chuckle Brothers. For me sums up our problems, when Yoshida is rated as the best centre back at the club. He has gone from 3rd choice to 1st choice in 2 years, and its not because he's suddenly got better.
-
You should really give the club a break , it’s not like the ground has been open for 17 years is it ......
-
Yes, is called positive / negative goal difference. What I actually meant was during individual games. I can see us needing to score 2 just to get a point or holding out for many 1- 0 with the current squad.
-
Exactly how I see it. As things stand our strikers will not be able to score more than we let in. If we can sort out both then we could finish around 10th. Tadic will be a bigger loss then some think.
-
Bit touchy aren't we. Whats it to you what I may or may think xxx

What 5 days before the season ticket renewal deadline a made up story in the press that Saints are looking at £20+ million players, surely not.
-
I would be very surprised if we broke our transfer record (if the reports of £20 million plus are true as well) on Maddison, time will tell if this report is true or not. I don't know if its just Saints, but we always seen to be linked with lots of players and for one reason or another they don't sign.
-
So when do the elected candites ask us our views? Most say the represent Season Ticket Holders and Away Supporters so are they going to contact us to get onboard our views?
-
On a scale of 0-10, how likely are you to recommend Saints as a club to follow?
IFHP replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
Who supports a club because they were recommended to them? -
Not necessarily, we might have had to use some of the VVD money to make up a shortfall in revenue from finishing 8th to 17th.
-
Paying off the clown and his clownettes, appointing Hughes and his backroom staff, the much reported bonus for Hughes for keeping us up and the approximate £15 million difference from finishing 8th to this seasons 17th.
-
Considering the club tell us, with the so called black box, they know who is going to be the next manager and what players they are going to sign years in advanced you'd like to think so. Maybe they didn't pay for the upgrade for the football manager game, after all that's basically all the black box is.
-
Yep 100% agree. If we had appointed Mark Hughes last summer then most would have been disapointed. However he came in and kept up a team that was destined for the Championship. Yes we only won 2 out of 8 but we only had 3 of thse games at home and 2 of them were against Chelsea and Man City. Ohter than the West Ham game Saints perfoamces improved. Right now we can't afford to take a chance on another unknown.
-
Yep, which going by past history is not good.
-
So inspired we still lost.
-
Branfoot had a tactic, a **** tactic but it least it was a tactic. The clown was just ****ing crap and he was the worst Coach/ Manager in my 40 odd seasons of supporting Saints.
-
What makes you think we have money? Do you really think we are able to spend £100 million without selling 1st? People keep saying about "we have money" but just don't see it my self. Yes we still have some of the VVD money but we have lost about £16 million in prize money from finishing 8th last season to maybe 16th/17th this season.
-
Which away games are you looking forward to in the Championship?
IFHP replied to JRM's topic in The Saints
Most normal people count the "current" 92, so at the end of each season you can gain, lose or stay the same depending on who goes down and who comes up. Just to make it exact for you, this season I lost the Hive but I could gain back Prenton Park for next season. -
He is now a easily our best Goalkeeper and in my opinion our player of the season. He all round game has improved, he catches the ball, if he can't catch it he will make sure he punches it away - he commands the 6 yard box with great confidence. And is now a great shot stopper, as has been proven in the last view games where he has saved us points. He's our No.1 for me.
