  1. He relegated us? Really? You sure about that? Bugger all to do with the team that preformed so well the year before then? Or finances being so carp that most of the decent players we had left got loaned out or frozen out? Lowe has been trying to get his kids experiment up and running for years so I dont think it took much convincing from Wotte or anyone else. Ole saggy chops pointed that out years ago. He rightly critasised a small section of the fans and that rubbed other fans backs up the wrong way. Couldnt give a monkeys if he is friends or not with the rosey faced twwat. Ultimatly we are where we are for many more reasons than just Wotte being in charge. I think he would have done better had all the situations been different but dont think he would ever be spectacular. Good luck to the guy if he is off and thanks for trying. Hope the take over happens soon now and they get someone in ASAP.
  2. I presumed the team stayed together and didnt go and check at the time to see who Pearson was bringing in or dropping. Should have had a look before I made comment but it doesnt really matter. It made sence at the time lol. I might be being over cautious. I just think that if someone like Tisdale gets a shot he could do without as much extra baggage as possible so the sooner he comes in the better. I wouldnt like him to carry the can and lose his job because he didnt have a fair crack at it. Can the administrator do that by the way? Not really thought about that option as I thought we would either be sold or fold.
  3. Calm down, I never intentionally trot anything out as fact. christ I get my own name wrong most of the time so forgive me for suggesting something that is a load of guff My opinion for what its worth, is no more than my opinion, I dont think anyone takes what I say as anything more than that and I am far from a self proffessed ITK so I will happily put my hands up if I get things wrong. I agree about the time frame, if its all done and dusted by the end of this month then a new manager should have plenty of time to get things right for the coming season. Anyone coming in last minute will have to preform miracles though if they want to still be manager by the end of the season IMO. The out of contract players that suggest they want to stay will find other clubs the longer the non-takeover takes. We wont be able to bring in fresh faces untill the take over happens and we know who the manager is going to be. There are only so many loans that can play in each game I think so we will have a mix of the chuff that is left and the last min loans that fail to get into other naff teams. I just dont see how the new manager would have much chance of reversing the -10 points let alone makeing the season look like we achieved anything. The longer it goes on the longer Wotte will have prepared whats left of the squad for the coming season. He will already have in mind how the team will play and will probably know who he wants to bring in to make that team work as soon as he gets the go ahead. I honestly dont have much faith in him or the team doing anything spectacular but safty would be the achievable target IMO. I want anyone new to have as much chance as possible to make things work. If he is in soon then brilliant, crack on and set out the plan to get us safe. hopefully push for a playoff spot so we can stick one up lord whats his face. I just think timing is the key to next season and our targets could well change depending on when things happen regarding the takeover.
  4. Fair enough. I didnt realise they got so many in as I didnt pay too much attention to them. Do you know when Pearson took over there and how long he had to asseble the team though? I think thats my only worry about getting in someone new for this season. I cant realisticly see the take over being completed and a new manager in and still have a decent run at getting a squad together. If the new owners were in control tomorrow and appointed a new guy by Monday then great. He would be here for the pre-fitness tests and could have a decent chance to assess what he has, try and get the out of contract players he wants to sign up for another season and still have time to bring in fresh faces. But say the new lot are not in for another 4 weeks, just getting a squad together might be hard enough and its at this point I would understand if Wotte gets the nod for the coming season. I would hate to see our new massiah be brought in only to have his hands tied by time and resources, have a shiite 6 months and get the boot before he could have a fair crack at it. Let Wotte be the boot boy and get shafted when we dont do well. Our messiah can come in then and cant lose. damage done before him and he has the Jan transfer window to try and sort things out. So if the takeover happens soon then im all for making the change and moving forward. I have only been suggesting Wotte as a last min scape goat.
  5. LOL brilliant. I knew I had heard something like that. Can you imagine Ronaldo and his hissy fits putting up with that kind of negotiation? He would be straight on the phone to his Mum! they dont make them like they used to thats for sure
  6. Mr Fry has put deadlines back several times before so legal or not I dont hold much hope that next Friday will see anything more than a further week of talks.
  7. only difference was that leicester kept there team intact. we will have lost a fair few by the time the seasons starts and the longer it takes to get a takeover the less time there is to sort out possible playing staff. will be nice to have a team to support but IMO the longer things go on undecided the more chance there is of playing League 2 football the season after next.
  8. If they come through with like a week before the new season starts do you think they will change the manager then? I dont think there are many reasons as to why they would keep him but I also dont think there are many reasons to think they will takeover sooner rather than later either.
  9. Fair enough. Ive said before that IF he does get the job, the only way he will keep it will be if he does fantastically well and if that happens im pretty sure most that have any doubts will change there tune. More likly will be he is replaced by xmas though.
  10. I wasnt having a pop but your answer to the OP was that you wouldnt yet now you say you would? If the question was "did Wotte do enough last year to earn the right to keep his job next year?" I doubt there would be many that said yes. But if the new owners decide to give him the job then there shouldnt really be many that wont support there decission. even if its seen as a temperary one.
  11. I heard a story once about how we signed KK. I was told that Lawrie got KK in his office and locked the door telling KK that he is not leaving untill he has signed for us. No idea if its true or not but its one of those stories that people kinda like to believe.
  12. would be nice to think that but its probably more likly that they decide its too late in the day once they take over to change the top man. they might line someone up for a change should Wotte do carp or give him 6 months to get the new squad up and running. sooner they take over the better all round. last thing we need will be to still be in limbo a week before the 1st game. the players that are out of contract will be gone by then and the likes of surman and co will want to know what they are doing so may even push for a move themselves. we could be starting league 1 on -10 points and about the same in squad size with a brand new last minute manager. not the ideal start IMO
  13. No idea if the possible new owners have anything to do with it or not but got to give them credit where credit is due. Its nice to have something to smile about and maybe we can look forward to some future memorys that have the same effect.
  14. Right now he is still the boss and untill he gets told to move over or be gone then talking about "we" when refering to the team next season is the right thing to do. If he said they or I he would get a slating for not preparing in a professional manner.
  15. Cant argue with any of that. Whoever gets the nod next season will have a target of making us safe and anything else will be a bonus. So as long as that is being achieved then who ever is in the job should get our support. The season after we will expect to kick on and if Wotte is still there then I dont think he has what it takes to get us pushing on so I expect a change to be made then if not before this season.
  16. Stanly in not supporting the saints shocker!
  17. Yet Pearson should have been kept on with fairly similar record? (with us I mean) Ive said what I think several times so im not trying to stir things up. just think that all parties should now be cut the same slack and treated equally. Its not about Lowe or Crouch any more. Its about the future. If the new lot keep Wotte in some capacity then they have there reasons and we should do our best to support them. If they get rid then we should do the same. Onwards and Upwards as they say.
  18. was thinking more that he got a job with feyenord and the national team (under 21's i think?). I wouldnt expect that kind of job goes to a no-body so either they were duped (and Lowe was on the back of that) or someone saw something in him that he has yet to follow through with?
  19. Yeah before we had to wait for all 3 to say get stuffed. now we just have to wait for the 1 guy to say he aint gona invest. thats at least 3 weeks less speculation each transfer window! Result!
  20. LOL I think im just looking at it like I think managers should look at things. Managers used to make players go and train with the kids when they wernt interested so by that phylosophy I think that if a player wants to be gone then he should get the cold shoulder and almost forgotten. If he cant sort his life out himself and wants back in he needs to work his socks off to re-join the team. IMO the whole club should follow the same kind of plan so going on with a love in for a player that doesnt want to be here just seems a bit wierd. Would be nice to have an OS that posts all info about our club weather it be fact or speculation though. Thats supposed to be the one place to go for all things saints yet we get more info on here.
  21. I doubt many at coventry had many nice things to say about WGS when they got relegated too. Not saying Wotte is in the same league or in fact any good but anyone that doesnt bring sucess is going to get a slating from someone. Wotte for some reason has been respected enough to be given some of these jobs so either he talks agood talk in an interview or people see enough in him to think he could do a good job. I will support whoever is manager next season but if the new lot get in and decide to use Wotte to see us through a nothing season then I will understand. I would expect that they would then bring in the manager that they see taking us forward though. And barring Wotte getting us an automatic promotion I wouldnt want him here for any more than the coming season.
  22. the devide is happening on just speculation at the mo. dred to think what will happen when someone actually comes out with a decission!
  23. I think there are a few managers that could have kept us up last season but most of them would have cost more and put us into admin sooner. Still at least the points would not have carried into next season.
  24. I think in his loan spell with us he looked the business but even though those stats look good he has always seemed to miss allot considering his chances. Still think he could be a bloody good player for us but I think its a fair comment to look at his loan spell as probably the best time with us so far.
  25. Dont see why that wouldnt be a good option. Im all for anyone getting the job as long as they get the support from above. I just think next season could be a bit of a poisened challice with the -10 points and it would be a shame if say Tisdale came in with loads of potential only to be shafted at the 1st sign of a relegation scrap. Maybe I would just be playing safe but I would rather have someone that is more expendable next season. I only said before that Wotte would keep the job if he did exeptionally well and put us up near the automatic places. To be honest I think if Wotte did get the job he would do no better than mid table but then that would at least give the new manager a decent platform to go from rather than full rebuild on -10.
