  1. I would love to have those types of players and think we were lacking the physical side of our team for ages. Wotte brought a few players back into the mix to try and toughen the team up but the options he had avaialable went exactly what we needed either. If he or anyone else sets the team up like Swansea then they still need to have much of the attributes you said above. Having 8 Lallana's running round getting knocked over all over the place will do us no good. But I think Wotte can see that where JP couldnt. if Wotte did get the chance and had a bit of room for bringing people in it would be interesting to see if he went for namby pamby players or a core set of rock hard players that dont get bullied.
  2. I understand where your coming from but I read the "Management Team" thing slightly differently. No point in debating it now as its been done to death but without the external and internal politics going on and a little support I still think Wotte can do better than he has shown. Our biggest problem last season is that we didnt improve the playing staff from the season before. That might be because of poor choices from management/board/whoever or we were shopping in a market more fitting to league 1 than the CCC. Either way the team that couldnt get themselves out of the relegation spots from the season before were not going to have high hopes of achieving the same the following season no matter who was in charge. Like I said before, If the new owners bring in there own guy I have no problem what so ever. I dont think Wotte deserves a chance like I thought Pearson deserved a chance but if he is given a chance then I wont be one who is unhappy about it. I think he can do much better than he has done with the right support, and I think we can get out of this league playing football so not so much need for someone who knows the league IMO.
  3. I think allot of those reasons are why I would be happy(ish) for Wotte to stay for a season. He knows what we have, what we dont have and what we will not have and he has also been busy looking for replacements that will fit in with this league. If he can find a few like Size then next season might not look as bad as we fear. I dont expect mega bucks to be thrown at the team for Wotte or anyone else so anyone coming in will have a limited time to get things sorted. Wotte has a head start on that which might make him the better candidate for now?
  4. See I dont think he was out of his depth. He was let down by the players as were we all but the problems he faced were not all of his making. He was better than JP was anyway! The new owners may well have someone lined up and if they bring someone in then they will get my full support but I just think that a bit of stability wouldnt go a miss either. Wotte has OK with a waank team and carried on when others may of walked. We have very little chance of any major achivement next season so we could bring in hiddink and he wouldn't look any good with us next season. I just think that with a pre-season and support from the board Wotte could do better than we expect next season so I wouldnt be unhappy if he were given a season to prove himself.
  5. Unless the new lot have someone ready to come in (bare in mind that by the time they get here pre-season will be up and running) I would have thought Wotte will get the job in the short term and possibly for the coming season. A 1 year contract to see how he does in League 1 with -10 wouldnt be a bad idea IMO. Its going to be a struggle for anyone so why give it to someone new who we will all expect so much more out of? If Wotte shows no signs of improvment in the team then the Owners will have time to find and bring in there manager of choice.
  6. LLS's bid was there for a week or so but they refused/couldn't to come up with the readies. If that was the final hurdle I would guess that would be marked down as a faller rather than being still in the race.
  7. I am one that feels a little happier that LLS is on the outside. Whilst I appreciate he tried to do something, his past has done nothing to show me his efforts would ever achieve anything. So the thought of him being involved in our club at a high level would make me think our club would never go anywhere, Im sure Alps was one of LLS's biggest rivals back in the day too. Which is a bit of a turn around with his now fully fledged support of the guy he once slated.
  8. Cheers :smileybeeremotethingy:
  9. Fair enough. I just try to treat others how I wish to be treated. We all have opinions and rarley will they all be the same. I dont like being labled a luvvie cause I cant stand the priick but understand that some of my opinions may mean that others will label me. Such as life I suppose. Anyway.... where wre we?
  10. I made comments based on the original thread and just voiced my reservations as realistically it could all still turn to rat shiit. I asked if this thread is still worth being here as it now is here just to have digs at each other and moan about past differences. If thats why you posted the thread in the 1st place Stanley then maybe it should still be here but then if thats the case it shows this thread is nothing more than a wind up. So again there is no need to keep this thread is there?
  11. Is this thread worth still being here now? Its just going round in circles over the same old shiite from the past. Not even decent debate now its just slinging insults at each other.
  12. To be fair we are not the only club to have a single owner who screwed things up. Leeds did fantastically didnt they? I have no problem in hoping things will be so much better but the people who are stepping in to save us have waited till we are almost non existent before they step in. Probably saved themselves a few quid but it could be because they dont actually have the money that is being banded about on here. Wilde started a whole new beggining for our club based on lots of investment that was just waiting for Lowe to be gone. What if the new owner is just another Mickey Mouse with hardly a pot to piiss in? We could be stuck in league 1 fighting relegation and yet again NO INVESTMENT! IMO this is where we are at right now. I dont even trust any manefesto that may appear from the new peeps at the top due to the previous clowns making the last one up. If promised lands are around the corner I prefer to wait till we get there before I jump about like a pillock.
  13. Seeing as you are such a good sheppard and all you know is true and fact please tell me oh special one. what do we do if the perspective new owner turns out to be no better or actually turns out to be worse than any that have preceeded him?
  14. To be fair Ginge he was giving his opinion on what he thinks and based it on more than 1 man at the top. He blames lowe and the others for the total mess we are in and rightly IMO suggests the lack of fans support compounded our problems further. Those that stayed away cause its all Lowes fault just made the situation worse at a time when we needed a decent board and support. However, as you have pointed out elsewhere there were many different reasons for fans staying away and probably a smallish portion of those were in the All Lowes Fault camp. We all tend to argue about minoritys on here when we would probably do better to focus on what the majority want which is a better club to support.
  15. I actually hope your right. cause if this new guy turns out to be Rupert Lowe Mark II then him having complete control over the club will not sit well with you I take it?
  16. Thats what I am saying though. IF he had stayed for what ever reason I think he would have made the cuts needed after we failed to get promoted. There would have been a bigger push from our acadamy but there would also have been a better ballance with our better players still being here. Some would have left for sure but that would have been to keep the wages within budget. 2 or 3 seasons on we would still be financially stable and maybe in a position to push for promotion on merit rather than on what we have spent. I dont think it would have been a pretty way back but it would have been a forward motion rather than dropping like a stone. I know its just my opinion and we can never really tell but I cant see how the changing of the board every 5 mins and mixed messages from top to bottom did anything to suggest life after Lowe has been any better than what would have been if he was left too it. If this takeover completes and the mystery man is our saviour then all of this will fade away quite nicly and all the troubles will have been worth it. But thats some farily rose tinted glasses to be looking out of to get to that kind of end situation. Reality might not be quite so nice. Bloody hope it is though
  17. Your that angry about it you are having trouble making sence yourself. Its a good job im cleverer and get what you iz meaning like
  18. I dont dissagree either but IMO had Wilde not ousted Lowe in the begining we would have got back to the prem by now or at least be holding our own financially in the CCC. Long term and for the sake of the fan base we needed the clean sweep that is happening now but Wildes bull ride in without a plan is the cause of so many of our troubles now. Had Lowe stayed in power throughout I wouldnt have been happy about it but I would be supporting either a prem club or a CCC club. All the choping and changing just compounded our problems and leave us on the brink of not having a club to support. We are laying our hope on 1 bid coming good and we have no idea if the new man in charge will be better or worse than anyone we have previously had. Most of us supported Wilde cause he wasnt Lowe and that didnt work out as we all hoped.
  19. LOL your making him sound more like Lowe than a fan!
  20. Ah I get it now! Less news more advertising And whats the point of a news letter when they dont really keep up with the news?
  21. looks like something has exploded on my screen. It might be just me not liking change too much as I didnt like the last change but this one just seems pointless. The only change I would have liked to have seen would have been a change in info being put up on the OS. Any info would have been an improvment!
  22. Id be happy for Wotte to continue for this season with a view to makes changes if needed for next season. I think our ambition this season should be to stabalise and count ourselves lucky if we are up near play offs by the end of the season. That said I would welcome WGS back any day of the week. balls to this english manager cak too. There has hardly been a decent english manager for years so I dont see why they are so special.
  23. What price are the new owners going to set for league 1 season tickets with practically no hope of promotion? If we knew who the new owners may be then I guess they could move forward a little with season tickets but right now there are 4 possible interested parties and also the option of shutingg up shop so cant make a decission.
  24. at a guess I would have thought Wotte will keep the job for next season unless someone comes in with a ready made manager in tow. Any new owners will be looking at success of any kind next season as a bonus and will look to build for the following season where any majour changes will happen IMO. As for the season ticket sales not happening, that only really effects the club right now. If and When new owners take over the doors will be opened for season ticket sales and there will be a rush fueled by the optimism that we are under new management and will be moving forwards for a change. So the bidders will look at that as a possible cash windfall for who ever takes over. We are pretty much at the lowest point for our club and new owners will only have 1 way to look. had season ticket sales been taken already and funds spent then new owners would have to come in and shell out more money straight away so the season tickets are a bit of a red herring IMO
