He's the CEO of the Club, the man charged with the day to day responsibility of running the Club. Even if he only works two days, then one of them should be a Saturday, or alternatively he should be turning up gratis on matchdays. I was critical of Hone not making some games, and I will be critical of Lowe not attending matches. It's the single most important day in any working week, a day when it all comes together, and a day at which the CEO should be present. The manager reports to him and it is the day when the manager should be assessed. There's nothing like seeing, hearing and experiencing things first hand. I respect your posts Ron, but have to say the last few have been out of touch with reality. I think you need to get in the real world fella.

Pressure needs to be put on Askham, Richards and Wilde. They control something like 25% of the shares and without their support, Lowe's position is untenable. If they withdrew their support, then Lowe would be dead in the water and I don't believe that even someone as arrogant and stubborn as him would stay around if his closest allies withdraw their support. We have reached a watershed in the Club's history and just saying turn up and support the team is going to get us nowhere. We need change and we need it quickly.

And this is what Jan had to say before yesterday's match: “The fans have been very good this season and have supported us well. It’s up to us now to give them something back." So all those blaming the fans can quite frankly fckk right off. The arguing and tension around us in the Itchen was not Pro Lowe v Anti Lowe, instead it was whether we should continue to try and support the lads or start getting on Lowe's (and others) backs. Yesterday for me was the breaking point and have no problems saying I will be protesting whenever and wherever I can. I don't believe it unduly affects the players and something needs to be done to force some action from those who are entrusted with running this Club, because meekly supporting the boys has done us fckk all good up to now. Yesterday was the breaking point, you could just sense it within the ground. It wasn't a knee jerk reaction to losing to Donny, instead it was a culmination of frustration that has been simmering for quite a while. Something needs to be done to take the heat out of the situation.

IMHO (and I do have some snippets to back up my opinion), the signing of Schneiderlin was nothing more than an investment, a gamble that we could move him on quite quickly and make a profit. He is nothing more than a commodity, with this decision being driven by others than the manager. As you say, considering this was the majority of our transfer budget (even if we have only paid a part), it was a pretty poor use of some very limited funds.

I concur. We need to do something to salvage this season. We cannot continue to bumble along hoping that we somehow pull it off. We have to be quick, brutal and decisive. As for your opening lines, then I also echo that sentiment. Now is not the time for "told you so's", instead we all need to stick together and try and build a spirit of togetherness. However, IMHO that spirit can only start to be engendered if there is movment both in the dug out and in the boardroom.

Too early to judge. Having a proper left back is a positive and his positional sense was OK (although thought he ventured too far forward at times). Was beaten a bit too easy towards the end of the game, but that probably had more to do with us having no shape following the tactical ineptitude of our manager (as well as perhaps lack of match fitness). OK, I'd have given him a 5/6 out of 10, and forgotten about the last 15 mins. And the fact that he was 3rd or 4th choice at Everton means nothing to me. As Jack Cork proved with his solid performances, despite being 12th choice for centre mid for Chelsea.

Poortvliet did not venture into the Technical Area much in the second half. And when he did, he looked shell shocked. I have issues with hs motivation, signings, but today he was tactically inept and naive almost all over the pitch. We lost that game just as much due to decisions off the pitch as on it.

Short term pain, long term gain. Something needs to give. A message needs to be delivered. Problem is we have no fcking balls. Any other team's fans would be going mental, we're too apathetic.
-
This is the lowest in 34 years of following Saints, As for sticking together, well I think today was the final straw. Have Saints fans got any balls, or will we all sit back and accept this ******xx??? At any other club, this manager and chairman would be run out of town. The heat should be turned up, but who's up for it?? IMHO no fcker.

I have no shame in admitting that at some point today I fcking lost it and gave some woman both barrels for asking me to sit down when I was singing for Lowe to go. The bloke and his son next to me were joining in and then some old guy had a pop at them. But what was fantastic was that ten minutes later we were all apologising to each other, slapping each other on the back and saying there was no malice in it, just pure, deep frustration at how low this Club has fallen. We may be divided on how and when to protest, but I don't think we are divided on the need for Jan and Lowe to go.

The dressing room has been lost.

Considering I've just got out of Seymours (dont fcking ask), he should think himself lucky I never bumped into him. Apparently he got someone banned for life for questioning his tactic after the game, so there might be a queue wantingg to have a word with him.

Next week's lottery numbers are: 234, 56, 1006, 756, 666, 3455555

Not at all, what would be the difference if when working for SKY, Matty walked into the Channon suite to see some friends and was asked to leave because he hadn't paid his #100??? Someone has fccuked up here, and I'm not saying it's Lowe,Wilde or Crouch, but that's a very disgraceful way to treat a player who is probably our most prolific midfielder (MLT excluded if you call him a midfielder).
-
So if Matty has got a backstage pass and is working for SKY on a commentary game, are you teling me that it would be fair game to ask him to leave one of the hospitality suites if he walked in there with a chat with some friends at some point during the afternoon??? I might be wrong and it might just be an over zealous steward (ala Keegan and that old duffer on the gate up the Dell), but I have an inkling there is more to this than meets the eye. I'll do some digging to find out what the Club's line is on this one.

We do have to play Charlton at home;)

It's up to the Trust members to start setting the tone for what they want to do. Just like that Ipswich game, today was a watershed for me.
-
That's what I have found positive, in that very rarely has any displeasure been directed at the players, who on the whole aren't responsoble for this fccking debacle we find ourselves saddled with. I think today was the final straw for many as even last time around I didn't witness such anger, resentment, frustration and hatred towards the Board. Who will take the lead, because something has to be done?
-
Even if they were not doing the Club much good (and I dispute that anyway), it pales into comparision with the damage that Poortvliet and Lowe are reeking on this Club. In the grand scheme of things, the fans come very near the bottom of what is wrong withthis Club, which is why I find it so hard to take people moaning about them, when the more culpable individuals are glossed over by some on here. If you vented just as much anger at Poortvliet, Wilde and Lowe, then i might respect you more, but instead your first dig, as always, is at the long suffering supporters. Arguably, protests against Poortvliet and Lowe, whenever they occur, are beneficial to this Club in the long run if it rids us of their divisive and failing presence.
-
Why would a new manager of any quality want to work with Rupert Lowe?
um pahars replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Despite Lowe's poor decisions dragging us down, we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that we are still a relatively attractive proposition. Perversely, our situation might actually be a positive for a new guy, because even if he fails he could say, "Well I inherited a sinking ship and I am not culpable, as there was nothing I could do". Let's not get stuck in the "Who would we replace him with?" as a reason to stick with this fcking joker. -
Which sort of goes against your line that the players respond to the crowd, because they certainly never responded to the support they got for the majority of the game (and they have not responded to the support for the other 12 home games). It's fccking lame having a pop at the fans who finally vented their frustration and anger at a manager and CEO who have fcked us over royally, so IMHo I think you would do better to look at the real causes of the problem as opposed to reflecting on the obvious symptons that would manifest themselves at any club given what we have been subjected to.
-
But we performed worse when we supporting them than when the protest started so please feel free to explain that one:rolleyes: As for Lowe not being there, the Wilde, Richards and others who prop Lowe up were there and they need to get the message loud and clear.
-
I would say that most of the protests started at 2-0 down, but even if they started at 1-0 down that still means that during that period we drew 1-1, whereas when we were behind the team we lost 1-0. I'm sat here tonight fccking pssied off and saddened by what has happened to my Club and am finding it rather pathetic that you're continuing with this "Let's blame the fans" routine. The same routine that you have peddled for ages, although I notice you've now come round to wat a ridiculous appointment Poortvliet was.
-
No songs sung, 2-0 down. Songs sung, we pull one back. What is detrimental to our performance is a fccking sub standard manager, appointed by a sub standard CEO. You keep blaming the fans Nick, most of us realise the real problem lies elsewhere.
