Just can't see it I'm afraid. The only people who could surely help pay the players would be the PFA. The football creditors rule is surely only applicable to those teams in the league who want to keep their golden share.
-
But aren't some of the Blue Few claiming that if they are liquidated then the football creditors bit is irrelevant and they are in the same queue as normal creditors getting the square root of feck all?????? Have to say that does have potential to make sense as the Football Creditors rule would only apply to a football club playing the league and of they are liquidated then it won't apply. In which case I can see a game of poker being played and the players eventually giving in and the Blue Few getting away with it again.

Probably didn't realise how bad they were until I thought about moving house. Firstly the original application never got sent out and cost us a couple of weeks in the moving process. Kept phoning them to tell them I've not received it and they eventually conceded it was not sent out. Received it two weeks late. Then this morning it just gets better. Had to sign for a package this morning and upon opening it the covering letter informed me enclosed were all my confidential documents I had sent off to support my application. HOWEVER, all of the documents (salary details, tax returns, tax forms, director contracts, NI stuff etc) are not mine, but some poor bloke from Chandler's Ford!!!!!! Then sent ages on the phone this morning trying to let them know but kept getting passed from pillar to post and gave up!!!!! Off to cricket in a minute where some poor bowler is going to get some stick (or I'll be out for a duck swinging wildly!!!!!).

G4S have been awarded the contract to crew and protect the he ship.

I'd say there was a bit of a rivalry in late 70s and early 80s when we were both challenging for promotion to the top flight and then establishing ourselves in the old first division. It was probably also boosted by being about the time Portsmuff totally fell off the radar screen and we're in a shambles on and off the pitch (nothing changes)..But for me that was about the extent of it until they were promotion rivals a year or so ago. In between, I think many had a bit of a soft spot given the shafting they were receiving from their owners/board..Poyet & his entourage weren't very impressive with their words, nor their style of play & theatrics, but I couldn't get overly worked up about them and just considered them as one season promotion rivals (in the same way as West Ham & Reading this year). It was obvious their supporters would support their manager, so couldn't also get too excited about their response to us (although did think some of the anti Adkins/Saints stuff was a tad small time!).

Living in Ocean Village I can add that the boat trains are still a regular occurrence to the Old Docks. Fairly regularly for Cunard boats (imagine its a part of the "Traditonal British sale"). In fact on our cruise last year we had to wait until the boat train from Scotland arrived. We watched it from our balcony pull up at the old QEII terminal two hours late!!!! Rare to see one pulled by a steam engine, but have seen the odd one or two a year. Some wonderful posts, links and photos on this thread. And as I'm writing this I can hear the two tone horn of a train crossing Canute Road.

This G4S shambles is the simple retort when anyone claims; Private Sector = good & efficient, whilst Public Sector = bad & profligate Neither have a monopoly on good and bad practice and neither have a monopoly on efficiency. And whilst neither have a monopoly with regards a duty of care, I can't help thinking that sometimes, just sometimes the desire to make £££££s sometimes clouds the judgement of some.

Only recently got rid of all my gear (impending fatherhood!!!). Certified with Andark (in those torpedo ponds at HMS Excellence) then went further with Manta Diving?? In Eilat and The Down Under Divers?? in Cairns. Apart from Eilat a couple of times all my diving was secondary to the holidays/travels themselves. Managed to dive most of the Caribbean (Jamaica, Cuba, St Lucia, Barbados) with the base of the Pitons in St Lucia being a highlight. South East Asia was hit and miss. Phuket way, Phi-Phi and Andaman islands pretty good, not overly impressed by Samui, Koh Tao. Highlights there included the sunken catamaran ferry and regular sharks. Cambodia and Vietnam rubbish and overfished and reefs wrecked. Red Sea was very good for abundance of marine life and managed to run in to a pod of dolphins. Barrier Reef was up there with the best. Stayed on a live aboard clipper for a fortnight cruising the reef. At one time a shoal of huge Bumpheads swam right through our party and it was just like watching cows meander across roads in the New Forest!!! New Zealand was very good (but cold!!), with the highlight of all my diving being spending time diving the Rainbow Warrior which was re sunk in the bay of islands. Great memories.

The author just asked what Waterstones you went to

Anyone on here want to tout for some business or can recommend a Saints fan who I can give the business to???? At the moment it's just selling my place and need to exchange by end of August. Haven't nailed somewhere to buy yet (might rent for a bit) but also hoping to get in somewhere before end of summer as well.

Couldn't take Ken Livingstone seriously (didn't take him that serious before TBF) when he launched in to Boris for avoiding tax, when he was also playing the tax avoidance game. As with Carr and Cameron, I'm not overly fussed about someone attempting to legally avoid tax, for me it's the deed of slaughtering Barclays or claiming to be morally outraged whilst benefitting from a similar scheme.

Initially thought it was a Sparrowhawk, but speaking to brother recently he mentioned that there are Peregrine Falcons nesting in cranes at the docks so got me thinking.
-
Did I just see a sparrow hawk or a Peregrine Falcon??? Got some bird feeders out on the patio facing Ocean Vilage Marina and get a myriad of birds visiting (Robins, tits, House sparrows, goldfinches, magpies, etc), but just had a wonderful visit by one of the above (unless you lot know different). Thought it was a pigeon at first, but then realised it was some type of hawk/harrier/falcon. Similar length to pigeon but much slimmer/streamline. Grey & brown plumage. Went for the camera but little blighter hopped off the capstain and disappeared!!!!! Any help????
-
Thats where Carr lost it for me!! You can't go round slaughtering Barclays for paying 1% tax (or whatever it was) and the. Do exactly the same thing yourself. But hasn't Cameron done himself up like a kipper as well with his faux moral outrage over tax avoidance???? His parents "tax efficient" trust fund is already out there and it won't be long before someone digs up something else on him, his family, his colleagues or his supporters. It's his equivalent of Major's Back To Basics which spectacularly backfired on him (and Edwina)

I think very poor parenting is more to blame and with most of those parents being under a Conservative administration in their most formative years, I think we should blame the Conservatives

Numbers 3,5 and 7 in our batting line up there!!!! Lads come home tomorrow Gemmel????

Didnt ring a bell at all with, and still didn't even after looking it up on the interweb. Patrick Mower in the lead no less. Can only presume it was on after my bedtime???? But the. Again remember The Professionals from the same era.

Gave it to my mum yesterday and she has just finished it!!! Apparently she couldnt put it down. Read the first few pages a minute ago and will deffo be going back for more. Lots of local references in it which makes it more interesting. Think his long term plan is to get it on the TV!!!! Well he does have very good contacts in the media, so you never know.

Go out and buy this book!!!!!! http://www.james-raven.com/ A shameless plug for a good mate of mine, but there is a heavy dose of topicality about it, in that the book he has just had published (and the detective) are based in Southampton and the City and surrounding areas are the backdrop to the plot. He did a signing session in Waterstones on Saturday and hopes to establish the lead DC Jeff Temple as Southampton's top copper!!!!
-
Not that good, as they've left us with half a cricket team!!!!!! Wasters!!!!!! In jest of course, as been following their trip with great interest and hoping they look after themselves out there. They've got some cracking photos (with Rooney, Gerrard, Kammy, Clemence etc) already and some decent stories to match (let's just say those Ukranian girls are real friendly and I'm getting a more fuller picture then daddy Gemmel is).

Must have been a pretty crap AI if the only choice was a buffet. Where did you go? When I went through my AI spell I always made sure they had a la carte and fine dining restaurants.
-
Then you enter a period of redundancies. You don't have to pay any more than Statutory minimum which is effectively a weeks work for every year. Not a huge burden on a company.
-
Pity the Club couldn't chip in to hand over the monies owing to charities!!! A trip abroad in their predicament and owing local and national charities is a disgrace. Complete and utter scum.
-
As someone else said above, he and a number of other players were the right signings at the right time for us. Scored some vital goals, created others and played an important role in clawing our way bak to the top able. Top work fella.

What about getting an "away season ticket"???? Dont know if they still sell them and what the conditions are (eg do you have to be a SMS season ticket holder as well?) but we certainly had them when last in the top flight. From memory, I think we sold something like 17.
