  1. Did I just see a sparrow hawk or a Peregrine Falcon??? Got some bird feeders out on the patio facing Ocean Vilage Marina and get a myriad of birds visiting (Robins, tits, House sparrows, goldfinches, magpies, etc), but just had a wonderful visit by one of the above (unless you lot know different). Thought it was a pigeon at first, but then realised it was some type of hawk/harrier/falcon. Similar length to pigeon but much slimmer/streamline. Grey & brown plumage. Went for the camera but little blighter hopped off the capstain and disappeared!!!!! Any help????

    Jimmy Carr

Thats where Carr lost it for me!! You can't go round slaughtering Barclays for paying 1% tax (or whatever it was) and the. Do exactly the same thing yourself. But hasn't Cameron done himself up like a kipper as well with his faux moral outrage over tax avoidance???? His parents "tax efficient" trust fund is already out there and it won't be long before someone digs up something else on him, his family, his colleagues or his supporters. It's his equivalent of Major's Back To Basics which spectacularly backfired on him (and Edwina)
  3. I think very poor parenting is more to blame and with most of those parents being under a Conservative administration in their most formative years, I think we should blame the Conservatives
  4. Numbers 3,5 and 7 in our batting line up there!!!! Lads come home tomorrow Gemmel????
  5. Didnt ring a bell at all with, and still didn't even after looking it up on the interweb. Patrick Mower in the lead no less. Can only presume it was on after my bedtime???? But the. Again remember The Professionals from the same era.
  6. Gave it to my mum yesterday and she has just finished it!!! Apparently she couldnt put it down. Read the first few pages a minute ago and will deffo be going back for more. Lots of local references in it which makes it more interesting. Think his long term plan is to get it on the TV!!!! Well he does have very good contacts in the media, so you never know.
  7. Go out and buy this book!!!!!! http://www.james-raven.com/ A shameless plug for a good mate of mine, but there is a heavy dose of topicality about it, in that the book he has just had published (and the detective) are based in Southampton and the City and surrounding areas are the backdrop to the plot. He did a signing session in Waterstones on Saturday and hopes to establish the lead DC Jeff Temple as Southampton's top copper!!!!
  8. Not that good, as they've left us with half a cricket team!!!!!! Wasters!!!!!! In jest of course, as been following their trip with great interest and hoping they look after themselves out there. They've got some cracking photos (with Rooney, Gerrard, Kammy, Clemence etc) already and some decent stories to match (let's just say those Ukranian girls are real friendly and I'm getting a more fuller picture then daddy Gemmel is).
  9. Must have been a pretty crap AI if the only choice was a buffet. Where did you go? When I went through my AI spell I always made sure they had a la carte and fine dining restaurants.
  10. Then you enter a period of redundancies. You don't have to pay any more than Statutory minimum which is effectively a weeks work for every year. Not a huge burden on a company.
  11. Pity the Club couldn't chip in to hand over the monies owing to charities!!! A trip abroad in their predicament and owing local and national charities is a disgrace. Complete and utter scum.
  12. As someone else said above, he and a number of other players were the right signings at the right time for us. Scored some vital goals, created others and played an important role in clawing our way bak to the top able. Top work fella.
  13. What about getting an "away season ticket"???? Dont know if they still sell them and what the conditions are (eg do you have to be a SMS season ticket holder as well?) but we certainly had them when last in the top flight. From memory, I think we sold something like 17.
  14. Very enjoyable film, and even liked Gary Stretch in his role as the leader of the gang.
  15. The wide boy was saying it is in their normal contract with all sellers, ie not a specific condition for this one house and something they are now doing with all potential buyers. I've just never heard of it before. Every other estate agent we've spoke to are falling over themselves to arrange iewings for us.
  16. That was one of his excuses this morning (which unwound later). After i said i was going to drop a note in the sellers letterbox they've now come back and said they are prepared to let us go and view it, BUT if we want to make an offer then we will still have to come in to their office to talk to their financial advisor!!!! Talk about hard sell!!!
  17. True, maybe I'd be doing her a favour as she must be paying them £4,000 to sell her place.
  18. Thought about getting in touch with the seller and telling them just that, as would be livid if they were acting as my agents and putting off potential buyers (particularly in current market), but the seller is an old woman and dont particuarly want to stress her out. Would rather just leave it to be honest. Are Austin & Wyatt the only ones pulling this stunt??? as everyone else has been fairly decent (or as decent as Estate Agents can be).
  19. Is this the norm???? Looking for a house in Upper Shirley/Bellemoor way and have been along to see a few (one not bad, one not good and one in the middle, but none what we're looking for). However, trying to arrange a viewing with Austin & Wyatt and they will only meet us for a viewing if we first meet them at their office to see their Financial Advisor to discuss mortgages and to establish our financial position!!!! Now I don't want (or need a sales pitch) regarding a mortgage, I've already got that sorted, I just want to view the house. They are adamant that that is what has to happen. Is it the norm now that viewings are restricted and used as a tool for them to try get commission on any potential mortgage business???
  20. Im hoping he's the ex Lancashire player!!!!
  21. You got mail
  22. I think staged and rehearsed soundbites are sadly par for the course nowadays, but surely the OP mentioning Redwood's la de da di da attempts at the welsh anthem means it was things more like Kinnocks "we're alright" winning (not) rallying speech, Blairs head tennis with keegan and Hagues baseball caps
  23. They were taking money off of people claiming it was to be passed on to charities, but instead spent it on the playing side. Disgraceful, and as you say potentially fraudulent to boot. And look at the timeline. Money was being pocketed in October 2011, yet they went in to administration over four months later. They were clearly trading insolvently. Shameful
  24. The problem is that as long as I've been following Saints (almost 40 years) they have always been small time, bent, prone to major f**k ups and an embarrassment to the footballing world. Even their brief hiatus above us in recent years was tainted by administrations, not paying charities, scandals & gaffes. BUT using money collected on behalf of charities to fund the playing side is the lowest of the low. An absolute disgrace that will taint their club for years to come. When Portsmuff first came on to my radar in my earlier supporting years, they were an absolute joke and a complete irrelevance. I remember getting some stick at a Sussex holiday camp as a kid, but they honestly didn't even register with me. We were flying high, whilst they were a shambles back then. I was more interested in Spurs, Brighton(!!), Liverpool and Man Utd. And for most of my Saints supporting years it has been that way, normal service has resumed and 40 years on Portsmuff are still a shambles and a complete joke of an outfit. TICK TOCK
  25. Mssrs Turner, Bachman Overdrive they are not. More like Morecombe & Wise
