you never said it was impossible to finish 10th but you were dismissive and condenceding to anyone who had the temerity to say 10th was possible. Your view to be fair was that we were very unlikely to finish above the positions we had occupied all season (15th before today). Others felt the team was improving and pushing on higher was likely, you didnt! That is why those you were so condecending to are pointing out that 10th is now more likely than your so called realistic view. Win three more and we are more than likely in 10th (so where does that argument get you) it's a matter of glass half full or empty however probability wise we are now far more likely to finish above 15th than below and that is a fact just ask the bookies! I am pointing out the concept and difference between what is possible and what is probable! I have never said 10th is the most likely outcome but our probability of 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th has been steadily increasing and all are now far more probable as a result of both our recent scores, those of the others and the fixtrues remaining.

Ricky is a far better all round player than Caroll look at the stats on assists and on closing down. Caroll is a lump up front like Holt and nothing else! Why are we interested in the long term! David Webb did not come as a big money buy! He actually went from us to Chelsea as I recollect. You also forgot to mention Peter Osgood who was wedded to the Kings road lifestyle when he came, but seemed to settle OK! In fact I would argue we are often a good choice for London born players given how easy it is to get back from Soton to London!
