and absolutely typical for him.

In Martin’s early interviews he stated that it would take time for the squad to adapt to his tactics and that we’d likely lose key players right up until the close of the window, that there would be blips. Early mitigation of course but right to say it. Last night was an early blip but perhaps a blessing in that it came in a cup competition when we put out a side of mainly ‘premier league’ players against a division four side. Whatever you think of that line up it should have been able to achieve a result. Instead, for those of us who have been watching these players much longer than Martin they reverted to type, given a chance they blew it. With the summer window open for a long time yet you would hope that our revolving door would be increasing its rpm after that shitshow. The main positives for me, are getting this out of the way, and the individual chancers into the light now, along with Martin’s post match interview. In the interview he was honest in a way we haven’t seen since Koeman, genuinely angry and calling out the sub-standard players. Dismayed at the performance but frank and now aware that the fringe personnel aren’t up to the job. Wait and see the subs bench against Norwich.

If the board are serious about promotion, they take responsibility, including the debacle of the Ankersen window, and clear any way they can - loans, cut-price deals and frees for the worst. We have a contingent of very poor senior pros that seem to be undermining rather improving the squad.

Championship side with any midfield quality exiting, so a case of who we can afford and who is willing to come. Preference after our last experience in this league is round pegs in round holes. Been saying all summer we need a new spine front to back, and that includes a Romeu type central midfielder, don’t think that’s Charles this season however hard the board would like it to be.

Not on his own.

To be successful in this league the way RM wants to play you have to field better technical players than the opposition. Seems like a very tall order at present. I think Grimes is a good signing of the type we need, I’d shelve the YTS if we are serious this season.

Martin and Wilcox need to see this game as an enema. The chance to clear a long term build up of impacted shit.

Lyanco is the out of date WKD samba special edition.

Agree. There should be enough here to get a result if they are up for it. Still lots of players Martin will want to see commit in a competitive match.
-
Fuck knows, perhaps he could be the Premier League Lumley, yet. On paper he’s got the pedigree 😀
-
Depends on if a club comes in during the window I suppose. Joanna Lumley not been here long enough to get her size 11s under the table yet. Could be a battle of mediocrity.

Lots of interest there in terms of season overall. Will be good to see Perraud, Charles, Mara and yoof! Hope Che scores again.

Romeo Lavia - Official: Signs for Not Liverpool

I’ll light a candle for them. Imagine having to participate in the pantomime of their ‘support’. -
I think the main reason is strategic, so that Dean Thornton has an old pal to go to the bar and Burger King with whilst staying at the hotel. Also handy for reaching the high shelves in Thornton’s office at Staplewood.

If we are using farming analogies a slurry pit would seem more appropriate, although our capacity for containing shit seems infinite in the keeper department.
-
Indeed they do, Roy Beckham comes to mind. If Piroe proves too difficult to get hold of, I’d be happy with Syd, a tad Pellesque and easy to find in the box.
-
Sounds like Piroe or Van Hooijdonk, you’d think that this type of player is number one on Wilcox and Martin’s list, very much the missing link.
-
Really hope so. Shithouse club.
-
Unfortunately it’s a well trodden path for aspirational Southampton midfielders in recent years. Completely different proposition from west ham and fulham.
-
And there was me thinking it was a complex Wilcoxian ruse to recruit Kasper Schmeichel! Fuck!
-
Nope, as with previous he will assume that the 'draw' of Spurs will get the player on board and force our hand. He might be right.

But as a care in the community vessel, incredibly uplifting. -
Only sticking point will be the fee given how tight that club is, but 100% Prowse would want the move and likely get it (which Spurs will know).
