  1. JW Man of the Year* * Johnny Walker
  2. Been there eight years though, felt like he was at saints for eight minutes. That was too long.
  3. It’s much appreciated Turkish, particularly given the additional grief you get on here since being outed. CBF and Egg will be just fine, as always big difference in person rather than online. Looking forward to the raffle. LLSS.
  4. Always good to see the old reliables for the annual festivities, and pleased that you can make it Kraken. Heard Turkish has arranged an interesting external guest this time around.
  5. Could certainly see Ings coming back for half a season, but all depends whether Martin and Wilcox want him I suppose. Regardless with Adams likely on his way think there is a good chance we will bring in two forwards in this window, one of the Aberdeen lads (Miovski or Duk) and an attacking midfielder.
  6. The perfect place for Che to become a prolific top flight striker. Hopefully Ashlyn the Chairman's influencer daughter will start another campaign along the lines of her Free Nathan Tella gem, with Adams ending up at Borussia Mönchengladbach for double the fee.
  7. 2-0 Saints and comfortable, Leeds and Ipswich draw 0-0 which puts us third and eight points from second. Bollocks to Michael Gove, Louis Theroux and the rest of the Shepherd's Bush massive. If you need an indicator of how shit QPR are, their chairman is Lee Hoos...
  8. KWP, Downes, Adam Armstrong. What a lovely dilemma to have.
  9. Plus Whitey on his case 😀
  10. Were the appeals to you made in a nasal Mancunian accent? Bally signing for the blue few I think, not one of his best.
  11. Been saying for a while, see where we are at the end of January, personally I think any gap will have closed considerably by then. We play Leicester away 16 March, Ipswich away 1 April, and Leeds 4 May, so could be a high blood pressure finale. Would bet on us as more likely sneaking second than winning a play off final.
  12. Think the only real dilemma will be how to break it to Stephens that Adam Armstrong is going to continue as Captain. The development of the THB / Bednarek partnership has arguably been the difference over the past couple of months. Short of serious injury or a cliff edge drop in form, Martin isn't daft enough to tinker with that.
  13. Me too, and he uses it very well without the ball in terms of closing down and pressurising oppo players. Done very well last few games and midfield appears much more solid with him in there.
  14. Think Leeds play Ipswich next, beat QPR and going to be interesting.
  15. We needed that, about as one sided a contest as you will see. Going to be a very interesting Christmas spell. COYR!
  16. RONNIE PICKERING, NUMBER FUCKING 3...
  17. Ronnie Pickering at the back is tactical. Likes to cut people off and a pain in the arse at corners.
  18. Very good to see Bree back on the cheeseboard.
  19. Think we are going to have one of our good days today - 3-0 (AA, SA, Fraser). Beginning to think it's that fucking music they play when we score a goal reminding the divs it's best to get another one, hence the situation away from home.
  20. Indeed, rather like Saints in 2011/12 wouldn’t you say?
  21. Right now Kieran McKenna is probably the best comparison to Adkins when we were last in this league. Ipswich have carried the momentum and look like a genuine team.
  22. Last season Sport Republic gambled on the recruitment of young players and left-field management and personally I was really hoping we wouldn't see a repeat this season, but we are where we are. Watching the club fail as a naïve work experience project ending in relegation was awful, and if there is 'scar tissue' at the club it's mainly with the supporters. This year we are considerably better shape and suffering mainly due to the remarkable form of the top two as others have pointed out, but worth remembering that Russell Martin is still a 'project' and is learning on the job in terms of fan / board expectation, media attention, and management / calibre of player. Martin's defensiveness and nark with the media and on the touchline shows that he is under pressure despite the unbeaten run and regardless of his positive soundbites. I like that he gives a shit! He knows that with this squad he is expected to challenge for the top two and it must be frustrating for him that his side have only really clicked for three halves of football this season, the first half against Leeds, and Cardiff just twelve days ago when we looked terrific and should have won five or six nil if it wasn't for the finishing. So there is the rub, if it wasn't for the finishing, how long have we been lamenting that. Like it or not project Martin is going nowhere unless he completely bombs in the new year, so there is a lot of responsibility on Jason Coolbox and Air miles Mowbray to come up with the goods without excuse. We need goals from centre forward, wing and midfield so best of luck buying that in. However, if by the end of January we are seeing the Leeds Cardiff version of Russball with end product nobody is likely to complain.
  23. Polo mint, a large obvious hole through the middle!
