  1. Think that this is a key point. Russ and Jase think Baz is the best in the league but not sure many managers would swap their current number one for ours. Given that we had 22 shots on Saturday and GB let’s in around one goal for every two shots a conservative estimate against Rotherham with Baz in goal would have been 10-0. Just the boost that was needed into the international break! 😀
  2. In the ground on Saturday as far as I could see and perceive the fans backed this dysfunctional ‘team’ until the final whistle. Deflated after their soft goal but you could see it coming all second half. There was no urgency or desire, no drive, to get the winner from the players. When the ref blew people were already on their feet flooding for the exits, the ‘boos’ which apparently upset Russ and Flynn were reactive as our supporters left the ground, it was fuck all.
  3. Just think, had we signed Piroe his goal every two games might have offset Baz’s goal every two shots putting us comfortably in mid-table 😀
  4. Shearer and Ruddock were the last iteration of that darts team. Remember seeing them in action! 😂
  5. Perhaps Flynn needs to consider Saints in the context of his beloved West Ham. If the Hammers were relegated in humiliation after appointing Natty J and Selles, brought in Russ to mastermind an immediate bounceback and were tenth after eleven games having bored drawed at the Olympic against Rotherham - the response might be even more 'mental'. What a melt!
  6. I wonder if Mousinho would swap Bazunu for Norris, currently?
  7. The Loch Ness Salisu!
  8. Traditionally after a lot of horseshit!
  9. We agree on the latter point Matt, far too casual going into the international break. Let’s hope Stewart is in the squad for Hull as we are desparate for that type of player.
  10. I thought we were arrogant and naive, a heady mix in this league. Propaganda football at its finest, and judging by those stood around me interpreted by a majority as a poor performance at home to Rotherham.
  11. Scored early, if another one goes in during the first half we would have likely won comfortably due to Rotherham switching off. They were expecting a dicking today. Instead Saints opted for full Russball and thought they could eke out a 1-0 like they did at Stoke. No penetration, no urgency, no guile just tippy tappy weak nonsense. Then, as seems to be the way - one attack, one shot, one goal - naive as fuck. Rotherham are a poor side, kick and rush, but their keeper looked superb today with and without the ball, so fair play to them for taking a point at our place due to our inherent complacency.
  12. Tell you what, that was top Russball today, that’s how it looks in its refined form, players following managerial instructions to the letter. What a pile of rancid dogshit.
  13. Travers, think he slips there, came through with the Republic of Ireland with GB so they are likely mates. Remarkable difference in physical size with Travers (6ft 3ins) towering above Bazunu but only an inch taller according to Wikipedia. I reckon Gav is actually about 5ft 11ins, very diminutive for a top level goalie these days.
  14. When we came up in second place in 1977-78 our first ten games were: W:6, D:1, L:3, we are currently: W:5, D:1, L:4, so us old romantics can at least live in hope. We can't lose many more games and remain serious about promotion this term, and certainly can't afford to lose at home to Rotherham. I can't see us doing so, prediction Saints 3 Rotherham 0, and our fragile tartan terror Rod Stewart in to neuter the tigers after the international inset week.
  15. The fans were better, and that's what counts...
  16. Now then, now then, now then…
  17. Chance to be the Scottish reincarnation of James Ward Prowse.
  18. Exactly this.
  19. Odds on!
  20. Keep the successful diamond and we likely retain momentum and win this. I think RM will, so 1-2 Saints.
  21. From what I observed the ref wasn’t pro football. Him and both linos were somewhat, slow and limited.
  22. Hard to say, there was talk of a midweek meeting with the 'supportive owners' so it may have been imposed. Have to say that the first half was just about as schizophrenic performance I can remember from a Saints side, with a team that looked like whipping boys in the previous fixtures showing guts, flair and nous - what most of us anticipated would get us out of this league. Crowd could see the effort and rewarded the side and manager with great backing over the 90 minutes. Surely Martin, and Wilcox for that matter, aren't that daft.
  23. Having a relaxing pint after a rather pleasant afternoon watching SFC beat Leeds. That’s about as schizophrenic performance as I can remember, it was as if the side had undergone a transplant. Credit where it’s due, we looked excellent today, hunting for every 50/50 and giving it a real go, Leeds second best all over the park, theirs was a soft goal and should have been 4-0. I had Adam Armstrong as man of the match, proper Duracell bunny performance. Onwards and upwards.
