I wish! I don't know how they've worked it out TBH. I can see I'll pay more for ciggies but I rarely drink so that's not going to cost me any more. And I won't be paying so much in tax apparently :smt102 I'd be quite happy to pay a bit more tax actually and I wish they'd ensured that those earning less paid less tax or no tax at all.

A couple of years ago we stayed at the Ambassador - very close to a metro station and a short hop from Las Ramblas. Quite possibly the worst hotel we've ever stayed in! However, I've just looked on Trip Advisor and it looks like it's been taken over and is now called Hotel Silken Ramblas. It looks like it might have improved a tad but it seems noise from adjacent rooms is still a problem. But it is a great location. Have a look on Trip Advisor - you get some honest reviews there.

At the risk of turning this into a 'My Favourite Musical' thread, I've seen most of the major musicals over many years. It's not that often that I want to go back to see something for a second time but there are three exceptions to my self-imposed rule. Les Mis is one, Cats is another and Chicago is the third. Probably the last two because of the dance content (and especially Chicago because that's the sort of dance I used to do). But for sheer singing and drama Les Mis would be top of my list.

Here's another cynical view. Maybe this IS disinformation to try to gee up the serious bidders? I remember the SISU interest. At the time, and still, I thought their interest in us was just a red herring to try to get Coventry to bite. People with money sometimes play funny games.

Er, except she does. I don't watch the show but I've seen the clip and her voice sent shivers down my spine. As did that young Welsh lad incidentally. Her looks have nothing to do with it. Judging people on looks is just plain silly. OK if she was trying to be a fashion model. It's a bit like expecting every fashion model to have a superb singing voice, or every footballer to have a Masters degree in astrophysics. It's a shame that people are so pre-occupied with looks that they can't see the wider picture. Symptomatic of a shallow society IMO.
