  1. I buy new clothes & stuff I want whenever I need to. Hugging my children, grandchildren and my bloke is enough to make me very happy indeed.
  2. I believe they will retain DNA / fingerprints of those found to be guilty. It is unlikely, I think, that an innocent person would burgle a house.
  3. We do have a 'feel good factor' getting together with the family and friends. We also feel happy that we haven't fallen for all the crass commercialism that over-rides whatever Christmas was originally supposed to celebrate.
  4. Brilliant!
  5. You reckon? I bet they don't - because he 'allegedly' had a pop at an ethnic group. Can't see the Dail Heil pushing that one somehow.
  6. I bought my grandson a wormery for his birthday last year. He wasn't allowed to do it - his mother didn't 'approve'. (that's why I bought it )
  7. I most certainly don't  I'm always buzzing around
  8. I had to comb my brain cells to think of that one
  9. Not only does he seems to have skills like Wayne Bridge - he's even got the same jaw line (I haven't checked the ear lobes though)
  10. Oh just bee hive yourself INS
  11. I bet he's had a cold that has interfered with his ability to sniff out information
  12. Damn! Now I'm beginning to wish I DID do Christmas
  13. Handbag probably in the order of £300  Give her a jute, recycled carrier bag instead. Better for the environment and better for your wallet IMO.
  14. No extra spending for us. We don't celebrate Christmas because we're not Christians. We'd rather spend money on friends / family when it's their birthdays as that date is special to them. December 25th isn't special to anyone in our family and we refuse to be lemmings. We'll spend the 'holiday' with family, eating a 'normal' meal and enjoying each other's company knowing that none of us have felt the need to part with ridiculous sums of money in the name of the birth of a being we don't believe in. And no, we're not Scrooges. We're also not hypocrites. BTW I've wept over whether I've put the apostrophe in the right place in 'others'.
  15. It works in Rugby League, doesn't it?
  16. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/dec/03/championship-credit-crunch-recession Nice to see our esteemed chairman having his say
  17. No date is the right date for us. We don't do decorations. Waste of money and energy. Bah humbug (again).
  18. I don't think 'fashion' comes into it. Faith and Hope are typical Victorian names along with Charity, Prudence etc. The Victorians loved virtuous names.
  19. I still love the Science Museum and the Nat.History one, mainly because it's such a beautiful building. My favourite part of the SM is the steam engine section and the huge balance beams.
  20. I'm so pleased to hear the good news. I adored JS in the 'old days' - had a real crush on him
  21. I'll go for Sarfend please
  22. I don't understand this word
  23. Like it's never ever happened in the US before
  24. He certainly provides fiscal stimulus
  25. Au contraire StM. We should move to France so that Mr TF feels right at home. He just feels so over-endowed in this country.
