Luther was dog$h!t in Italy! AC Milan fans often referred to him as Luther Missit (5 goals in 30 games). Rumour has it that AC thought they were signing John Barnes. Back to the original question, it's a bit difficult to answer, as you can have a real mixbag. Based on Delgado, we'd pan Ecuador, but Wigan fans might give a different opinion after the decent service and profit they got out of Luis Antonio Valencia. If you buy an Italian, you might get a Zola or you might get an Andrea Silenzi. In Tim's defence, the USA is producing more and more decent players, I was recently out watching Borussia Monchengladbach and Michael Bradley was immense as a midfield workhorse. Given how solid Friedel, Howard, Keller, Hahnemann etc have been down the years, maybe we should look there for a keeper? Regardless of where someone is from, if they're good enough then sign them, just don't take a telephone testimonial from someone claiming to be George Weah recommending their cousin......

JT's a dirty bastard His Dad's a coke dealer His Mum's a shoplifter and now his brother proves that there's definitely something scummy in the Terry DNA: http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/oddballs/827151-paul-terry-mirrors-brothers-affair-after-cheating-with-team-mates-girl

Saw him in a few games for Bolton, at times looked like he could develop into a decent player in the Prem but then other times flattered to deceive and ultimately didn't live up to the promise. Dropping down a league or two and playing regularly could kickstart his career, definitely worth a look at least.

Behind closed doors would be a good idea but lunchtime kickoff doesn't make a difference, it might mean some of them have to get up earlier than usual, but I doubt that'll be a problem for them.

Cheers for the goal at Brentford Lloyd, was a cracker! Agree with him being released though, deserves to go somewhere and get first team football, he's not good enough for our starting 11 and will benefit from being a regular somewhere, good luck to him.

Where do you want the pre-season tour to be?
oxfordshire_saint replied to Red Alert's topic in The Saints
Italian/Swiss border would be pretty good, some competetive sides to play around there like Lugano, Bellinzona, Como and Varese. -
Someone needs to sit Cortese and Liebherr down and explain to them the events at QPR over the last couple of years, it took them that long to pick a decent manager and stick with them (watch now as Warnock gets the boot 3 games into next season!) But then again, Markus stumped up the cash in a big way both to buy the club and buy players, I guess he can do whatever the fook he wants when all is said and done!

Seeing as it's in The Sun, I'm hoping it's of their usual standard of bull$hit. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2964665/Jamie-Carragher-in-shock-England-return.html He's past it, one of the reasons why Liverpool's defence has been so creaky. I'd rather take Wes Brown for RB/CB cover. Or if he picks Milner as one of the midfielders then that's right-back covered, which means he can pick a decent CB as cover, like Dawson.

Taking Feyenoord to the title would be no mean feat, despite their cup final appearance this season, they're a spent force. Feyenoord's last title came in 98/99. On merit, AZ are a bigger club these days.

I haven't seen it, better than the Sheff Wed's fan throwing air-punches at Clint Hill yesterday?

London Elek are awesome, had the pleasure of seeing them as a live act a few years back at the Scala in Kings Cross, it got released as a live album too, one of most cherished CDs now! If you haven't already, go get the old album "Billion Dollar Gravy" too, some classics on there.

Indeed, he was never ready for the England job but the FA were being penny-pinchers and offered him it, you can't blame him for taking it, what Englishman would turn it down? Bar a bit of an unsavoury end at Boro he did a decent job there and attracted some decent players, plus he was a top coach at United. Fair play to him for having the guts to try something different and experience the footballing culture abroad, ala Hodgson and Bobby Robson. It'll stand him in good stead in the long run. Taking a team other than Ajax or PSV to the Dutch title is no mean feat.

Massage Man's speech made me feel sick. You're financial cheats, there's nothing valiant about your efforts. Being allowed to play on with a squad you can't afford was a bit like a credit-card addicted bankrupt being allowed to continue driving round in a Ferrari that they bought with all the cash they didn't really have. The empty seats were really a lesson in passion weren't they Avram? Be interesting to see just how quickly he flees the club he "loves" as soon as that FA Cup Final finishes.

That was Hayden Foxe, ginger Aussie defender.

Correct. I watch Spain demolish Ukraine 4-0 in the World Cup there, very impressive the way they build it over the old one.

That's a good thing! When the whole country knows exactly who your chairman is and every detail of their private life and dealings, I think you have the wrong type of chairman on your hands. Markus is perfect, he shuns the media spotlight, puts his money in and comes along on matchdays to support his team/investment.

Clue, it's not the Dragao in Porto (which I'm guessing would be most people's first guess!)
-
I am happy for him to let his continued investment do the talking

Indeed, it's the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo in Venice, dragged the missus there whilst on holiday a couple of years ago because I wanted to have a look at it. It's right at the other end of the island and we walked it. Had to buy an expensive dinner that night
-
Will probably give it away, but it's a romantic holiday destination.
-
Nope! A lot of you have probably visited the town/city, but probably not the stadium.

They'll be ok, Warnock will use QPR's £££s to buy back practically all of his old side.
