I think the League and JPT should take priority over the FA Cup. Realistically we're not going to win the latter but we can make the playoffs and I'm sure most of us fancy a day out at Wembley with the JPT.

I guess the other thing is that, if we are building a side that can compete well at CCC level, if they get more chance to gel, if they're not just thrown together if/when we go up.

To be honest, I can't help feeling £1.5m is a bit overpriced, when someone like Barnard has more league goals, is a bit cheaper and is, reportedly, available for £250k-£500k. That said, if AP wants him that badly, and that's the price, then won't complain if he signs as he'd probably be a good foil for Rickie.

Just had a look at Danns' twitter site and he's just asked how his new followers heard about his twitter site and thanked us for our interest. How has he got time to be asking this? Shouldn't he be signing contracts etc???

Don't think so. Think that's just someone quoting an out of date report. The same South London paper then ran a story saying he was on the verge of signing. Phew! Got me worried then!

So, to clarify things, as they stand: We have bid 1.2 million or 1.5 million for Fonte, which has been accepted, and he is currently having a medical with us or training with Palace and will sign today or stay in South London, as he doesn't want to leave the area?

I used to find it both funny and embarrassing, in equal measure, when we had Dennis Rofe out at half time geeing up the fans and doing the half-time entertainment. If true, could be a case of us agreeing a fee and Ward not fancying dropping down a division. A swift change of target to Whitbread would be a wise move methinks, if this does turn out to be the case.
