I hate this fixture as a rule but I am disappointed with a point. I thought we could have got all 3. Not keen on the ref.
-
Ralph hasn't had much time for him since that match. I still feel that a decent referee, just minutes into the game, would have shown him a yellow card and had a sharp word in his ear to calm down. Sod's Law it was Mike Dean and he whipped that red card out before McTominay had finished rolling over and over. I wish him well at Young Boys. I think they have Man Utd in their Champions League group. Go on Alex, score a few, lad.

I am feeling quietly confident about our new signings and if last weekends gutsy display was anything to go by, it might be a pretty good season after all.

Jack Stephens' passion & has he improved?
Sarnia Cherie replied to niceandfriendly's topic in The Saints
Yes and I hope so is my answer to your question. I was cheering him on when he was giving entitled Fernandes a piece of his mind yesterday. You tell him, Jack! -
Good for Stephens. More players need to stand up to the Fernandes of this world. Refs have been told to let the game flow so that's what Pawson was doing. Fred gets on my nerves. Every single incident whether they involved him or not, here he comes with his moaning to the referee. Him and Fernandes were still grumbling at the half-time whistle. A right couple of pansies.

That's more like it. A real gutsy display. I got totally fed up with the biased commentators on Sky. How much do they get paid to give us such earth shattering news that Southampton's bench doesn't have as much quality as Man United's? Such an encouraging game. Well done our lads.

I have just seen that Craig Pawson is down for us. Like you I felt this game had Mike Dean written all over it. He isn't on VAR for us either. And breathe.
-
Manchester United has hit the ground running and I hope but I can't see us stopping them. A damage limitation game for us. Any idea who the ref is?
-
If the Lukaku deal with Chelsea goes through, it is rumoured that Inter will be looking to sign Martial from Man Utd. Swopping one inactive lump for another.
-
PSG have beaten them to it.

Didn't take Ryan Bertrand long to win a trophy. Good for him.

Is the Premier League too rich for us?

Apart from that things are great! 😁 You are right ,by the way. -
What the f**k is going on. Done with this rabble

No Long is more painful on the eyes than Long Covid. -
When Grealish was injured last season Villa struggled without him. Ings has big boots to fill if he is Grealish's replacement. Ings will have to hope for a season like 2019-2020 and no injuries and he hasn't had many of those. Time will tell.
-
I agree. The rumours had mentioned City or Spurs, mostly. A bit of a sideways move going to Villa but I suppose it clears the way for Grealish to go. Too much to hope for that a swap might be on the cards. 🤞😁

Reported that a £25m bid for JWP from Villa has been rejected by Saints.

Good to see that Portsmouth have sacked their 3 under-18's players who racially abused Rashford, Sancho and Saka. No place for them in sport in my humble opinion.
-
Everything crossed for Calamity Jones to go to West Ham. I was getting worried he might be coming in our direction.
-
Never mind. Man U appear to be putting Phil Jones up for sale. Please God, NO!

I'm female, so I'm allowed. 😁 Cressida Dick is a hopeless Commissioner. I read somewhere that she will apply for a second term in the role. She shouldn't get it. On her watch the Met are becoming a politically correct and largely ineffectual police force. Appoint the best person for the job irrespective of colour or gender.

A prime example of the moronic idiots who send hate messages to black players although in his case his children are being fed by Marcus Rashford's meals scheme. It's all ok though because he was hammered. They think they can be invisible. Name and shame them.
-
United don't like selling . If they can keep Phil Jones, they can keep anyone.
-
Nothing that I can see. I don't condone racism on any level but sadly there are those in our society who do and 3 black players failing to score their penalties would have been all they needed to start the abuse and monkey emojis. I treat people they way I would like them to treat me. I don't have the answer to racism and I don't even know if there is one.

Marcus Rashford should never have been in the Euro squad. On his own admission he had a poor season for Man U and been bothered by injuries but for some reason he was included in the squad. He has kept the bench warm for most of the tournament only playing 80 minutes of football and to cap it all he delivered that awful penalty. It would have been better all round for him to have missed the Euros and let him concentrate on the surgery and recuperation he needs before the season starts.

So why do you mention money in your original post? What difference should that make? Should Pickford always keep a clean sheet because he earns thousands a week?
