  1. Many thanks for 'man-splaining'. However, Aintclever's original statement was : Note that he uses 'vaccines' in the plural, implying all vaccines, which, as I stated, is horseshit. Measles vaccine protects for life, similar to the Polio vaccine. Influenza vaccines on the other hand give protection for a couple of weeks / months. It's just another example of aintclever pretending to be superior, calling people thick but pulling his own pants down in the process. When his answer was questioned further he came back with 'coz the covid virus is different, init mush' demonstrating his complete understanding of the subject once more He's right though, it is quite easy to understand, just not for him
  2. Which is the frustration around the reported figures. It's not like it would be a major piece of work to report hospitalisations against vaccination status.
  3. Like I've said before, covid passports for hospitals solves the problem. Treatment is prioritised by your vaccination status. If that means the deniers sit in the car park coughing, so be it, it's not like there haven't been plenty of opportunities...
  4. No need to worry, 'experts' are predicting snow in the UK over Xmas and we've been told to trust those guys implicitly, so you can go skiing over here
  5. Questions aren't statements Matty, they're questions. There's a clue in the name. As for the rest of it, that's not what I'm saying at all. I've already stated (and also posted links to the Govt website) that show that vaccinations HAVE helped to reduce the risk of serious illness and hospitalisations. I had my booster yesterday, so don't be thinking I'm in the vaccine denial camp either! Aintclever stated that the virus still had the same 'potential' that it did when it first arrived. I am simply questioning why he assumes that given that 89% of the population have had one jab and over 80% have had two - which will massively REDUCE the potential for the virus to cause serious harm / hospitalise most people. So, back to the question, why does Aintclever think that the potential is still the same, and if he truly does think that, then what does he think was the point of vaccinating 89% of the population?
  6. Odd. I think you're assuming I'm saying a polio vaccination will protect against aids or TB or Measles, which I'm not.
  7. Cracking answer!
  8. This is a bizarre post and shows you haven't understood the post you are quoting. If you look closely the post contains two QUESTIONS and zero STATEMENTS.
  9. Horseshit! I had a polio vaccine when I was about 1 year old. Has that waned over time?
  10. Does it still have the potential? If so, what was the point of spending billions of pounds on vaccines?
  11. Definitely cheaper than fixing the issues with the NHS to stop it being overwhelmed....
  12. Just a thought.... Didn't Boris madly proudly exclaim when the vaccines were first developed that the UK had secured three times as many as it needed to vaccinate the population? Nothing like a bit of fear mongering to 'encourage' everyone to get their 'booster' / third jab to use up the stocks we've had to pay for before they go out of date
  13. I know! I wasn't the one who brought up herd immunity, merely pointed out that it is broken (or certainly the perception of it!). There is no "super immunity" as you claimed - Charles Le Clerc has tested positive for the second time in 2021 as I'm sure many others have as well, in the same way that you can catch a cold twice in a year. As I have shown from the figures posted earlier, the vaccine IS working to reduce the number of hospitalisations and deaths. We don't know for sure as it isn't included in the figures, but are the hospitalisations from non vaccinated people? If so, the answer is very simple (should the NHS be overwhelmed).
  14. Horseshit! This is a reasonable article that explains herd immunity through vaccination. What you're suggesting is that we won't achieve herd immunity unless / until the population (or 90% of it) has had covid and has achieved 'super immunity', which, frankly is laughable. Did we achieve herd immunity from measles because 90% of the population contracted it? What about mumps, rubella, TB?
  15. Who is saying this? I cannot find anything definitive that states that anywhere - plenty of 'we're not sure, we need more data' (and rightly so), but no definitive statements.
  16. And yet we can't get the 'super immunity' we need (made up bollocks, but that's another story!) if we keep locking everyone up and not exposing them to the virus....
  17. Covid passports to enter hospitals would avoid a lockdown
  18. Then we're all doomed I tells ya! Currently we have 89.4% of the population who have had one jab, 81.6% with two and 45.8% with three, so our 'herd immunity' must be broken. sauce 93k positive new cases yesterday (up 38.6% on the last 7 days). 111 daily deaths (down 4.5% on the last 7 days). 900 hospital admissions (up 8.1% over the last 7 days but also includes people who had covid in the last 28 days no matter what they have been admitted for, which changed from 14 days on the 15th of December). In general, the number of positive cases has been rising since early November (as you'd expect with all respiratory viruses during the winter), yet the daily death rate has been trending downwards over the same period of time (suggesting that the vaccines are stopping people from becoming seriously ill as predicted, but also that new treatments are more effective at preventing deaths). One stat that is STILL NOT REPORTED is the vaccination status of those being admitted to hospital and those dying from (and with!) covid. The single most important statistic right now and it is conveniently being ommited from the data sources and isn't freely available.
  19. Contractual obligations to the pharma companies that we ordered the vaccines from....
  20. Seriously? Have you forgotten the Christmas party fiasco already?
  21. 'Gone in a year'. Not much of a dressing down. Most of us had him being replaced by Rishi before next summer anyway - that's just based on the fact he's a complete bellend and has served his purpose and nothing to do with local by-elections.
  22. Nope. Nothing in there that states 'avoid Christmas parties'. He does say to 'deprioritise' social interactions, but that very much leaves it up to the individuals to decide for themselves what is and isn't important to them. Have you got a link to 'experts' stating we should 'avoid' Christmas parties?
  23. I haven't profferred any advice....
  24. And yet, when the 'experts' were advising that mask wearing should continue to be legally enforced during the summer or we would have 100k infections daily by the end of August, that 'advice' was proven to be incorrect.
