Finished for the day. Efficiency meant an early knock off.

Bit melodramatic. I'm sure there are hard workers and piss takers in both public and private sectors. Let's just settle on 'human nature' shall we
-
Budgets are constantly being cut in the 'private' sector and being 'overworked' isn't exclusive to the public sector. Shareholders generally want their pound of flesh. Mrs WSS started a new job in the 'public' sector yesterday having spent the last 11 years in retail. She was shocked when everyone upped sticks and went home at ten past four (working hours 08:30 - 16:30) and thought she would be 'docked' money for leaving early. Luckily I was on hand to remind her that she's now on a salary

Saints finish season with £110m+ 'prize money'
Weston Super Saint replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Isn't there already a breakaway league called the 'Championship' and another after that called 'League 1' where less money is needed to be competitive. Surely the answer for us is to be more competitive in the 'big pond' rather than moaning that we are such a small fish in the 'big pond' that we should create a 'smaller pond' to live in? -
You can't just dismiss it so carelessly. This and the Vardy case are some of the most high profile cases of our time.

That's a bit harsh, you've probably never met Sheaf

Keeping it up on the other hand.....

Probably marginally more enjoyable than spending 18+ hours in a shit airport before being told your flight has been cancelled 🤣

Can the pixel faced coach be promoted to first team duties in the hope that we will carry on playing and not capitulate after 65 minutes?

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
Weston Super Saint replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
Is it? The police do not publish 'who' has been fined, so where are you getting the figures that 125 'Tory's' have received fines? We know Mrs Johnson has received one and she is not a member of the Government. How many of the 125 were given to civil service workers who are politically impartial? -

I'd say probably closer to 60. I'm way over 40 and only learnt imperial weights in my 20's from a fishmonger from Fleetwood. -
Are you sure? Alexei reckons that sanctions are making the good ole Ruskies richer than they've ever been!

Norwich to be sold to Americans …
Weston Super Saint replied to East Kent Saint's topic in The Saints
Don't forget, Pompey were also sold to "Americans" -
This is beyond paraody surely? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-61596817 He delivered a 14 minute talk on how 'City Mayors' can influence carbon policy, which he could have done virtually. His office claims he had a 'full diary of networking events' so it wasn't a waste of CO2. The only problem is, the city has had a referendum and voted him out of his office and scrapped the mayoral system. He's the same crackpot that proposed a £4bn underground for the city

Meh. Unless you've got that in an official memo signed by Vlad the Glorious, he's not going to believe you.
-
The Conversation The Economist There are many, many others that all say the same thing and pretty much everyone in the world understood what Vlad's master plan was, except, it seems, for you. Maybe because you were too busy shitting yourself about the T62s rolling across our green and pleasant lands

Jesus wept. You asked where it was published. I show you where it was published, you deny it. Are you MLG?

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56720589 What was Putin's original goal? The Russian leader's initial aim was to overrun Ukraine and depose its government, ending for good its desire to join the Western defensive alliance Nato
-
Their stated aim for the 'special military operation' was to take control of Kiev within the first couple of weeks, thus effectively controlling the entire country. You believed they would achieve that and then roll through Europe and up the Mall before the Jubilee celebrations could begin. They failed miserably with their previous goal. The current 'victories' are about as blatant examples of pyrrhic victories as you are ever going to witness. Their econmomy is shot to pieces and their citizens are slowly but surely beginnig to recognise the 'truth'. If the Chinese don't completely fuck them over, they may have a chance of rebuilding in the next couple of decades.

Ah, I see, you want to play semantics. Was she 'expelled' from the Labour party before or after she was convicted? Is it safer to accept that there are 'wrong'uns' on both sides of the chamber? -
The developers reckon they could do a much better job if they had the hardware and network fit for the job
