  1. Seems like a ridiculous thing to do and not sure how the Welsh are going to police it! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-54662795 It looks like electricals and clothing will not be allowed to be sold in the supermarkets as they aren't 'essential' and other shops selling them have to close, so that small businesses are protected. Meanwhile those essential cakes and pastries are fine in supermarkets, despite local bakeries being closed. The Welsh lockdown basically just looks like a complete leisure closedown for a couple of weeks to ensure the badly damaged hospitality industry doesn't make any money during half term!
  2. Some more good news Assuming that there wasn't a 'false positive' either time, it looks like even the very fittest athletes can be infected more than once - not looking good for the majority of the unfit population! https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/racing/giro-ditalia/giro-ditalia-2020-fernando-gaviria-tests-positive-for-coronavirus-for-second-time-this-year-473197
  3. Protect the vulnerable and get on with life???
  4. To be fair, the front page of the Star today was mildly humorous.
  5. So what the fuck were you talking about with your silly Saville example? Were you implying he's never cheated at monopoly? QUOTE "I've reached the logical conclusion that he must apply the same thinking to Jimmy Savile who never received even a fine or nothing from a serving constable so clearly never broke a rule in his entire life."
  6. It's an easy win for Labour. Claim we should have a national lockdown, knowing it is very unlikely to happen, then claim the Government are shit. It's also very easy to shout about another national lockdown when you know you don't need to find the money to pay for it!
  7. Seems to matter significantly to 'strictly' as they've been banging on about it for weeks now. I'd imagine a position a little more high profile than a dancer on a shit TV program, like the President of the US, would attract infinitely more attention. Not sure it would matter if 'it matters', if it happened it would be reported as if it were the second coming!
  8. It's a pretty simple question, but one I didn't think you'd have the ability to answer.
  9. Great point well made, and that is exactly how all the laws in the UK work, well played, you're the bestest.
  10. You should direct that one to Sir Keir as I believe he was in charge of the CPS when they decided not to bring charges against Sir Jimmy. Although what that's got to do with coronavirus legislation fines from constables is beyond me.
  11. Remind me, how does the legal system work in the UK - I believe you have 'insider' knowledge Is it 'guilty until proven innocent'?
  12. Mental! So he broke the rules, more than once, was interviewed by the police who concluded it didn't even warrant a pitiful £30 fine. Seems like a slam dunk to me.
  13. Not sure you've grasped the fact that breaking those rules carried financial penalties. The test for breaking the rules wasn't even particularly strong and could be applied arbitrarily by serving constables. Yet, no financial penalties were issued to Cummings which must imply that he did not break said rules. Not really advanced rocketry is it?
  14. If you think so, that's up to you... Personally, I think that what he did was morally reprehensible - I even pointed this out at the time - but that he hadn't actually broken any rules. There is a stark difference between morals and rules, one that I'm not sure you've truly grasped...
  15. I'm happy to rescind my earlier comment about Margaret breaking the fundamental rule about isolating whilst waiting for a test result to return, as it turns out that was not a law at the time she did it. Morally she should have followed the advice as everyone else should, but I guess morals don't apply with politicians!
  16. Good news, Margaret gets off Scot free from the Met police : https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-54546058 Not sure what the law states in Scotland, but if Poileas Alba also conclude she has no case to answer will the SNP re-instate her to the party? As for the argument about Cummings meeting people whilst his wife was ill, I guess that one is blown out of the water as well, as he can't possibly have broken a law in March that didn't come into effect until the end of September!!! I guess that just leaves the whole eyesight thing - which frankly isn't a CoVid issue at all, but one for the DVSA to look at - but I'm sure if he ever gets asked about it he can just brush it away and claim that the virus made him act out of character.
  17. Jesus Wept, you really are thicker than a whale omelette. As I tried pointing out to you a few posts ago, those are not my words, they are Aintforever's words. I do like your argument though, that because she isn't in the Government then she is no more responsible for upholding the Government's message that you or I, or even Cummings who is also not in the Government
  18. Well, which one? Your Pal Aintforever has so far ignored this question, will you tell us which rules he broke?
  19. Not sure I agree as the rules were different for both. Cummings didn't break any rules - although I'm well aware that is just a 'technicality' - whilst Ferrier broke the fundamental rule by not isolating whilst waiting for her test result. More than that she went to places where it is reasonable to expect lots of other people to be, whilst knowing she may be contagious! I still think that those calling for her scalp are wrong as the rules state the penalty for breaking them to be a fine not loss of livelihood!
  20. Which would be a truly wonderful point if she hadn't lied and undermined the Government's message!
  21. Which part of you claiming she has not undermined the Government's message do you not understand?
  22. It's pretty impressive how pitifully thick one human can be. Clue : those weren't my words, I was quoting someone else and have at no point in my entire life claimed she was part of the government.
  23. My word you haven't got any brighter. What Aintforever said was "My point about her admitting it and apologising was that by doing so she didn’t undermine the government’s message as much as if she had lied and not apologised like Cummings." I've highlighted the relevant passage which defends her actions stating she hasn't undermined the government's message but feel free to shout if you're still a little confused. As I've previously stated, Aintforever has been all over the place with his postings and can't seem to decide whether he condones her actions or thinks she is somehow not as bad as someone who didn't actually break any rules. If you think a serving MP blatantly disregarding the rules around testing and isolating whilst infected with CoVid is irrelevant, I'd suggest this probably isn't the thread for you.
  24. Pony. Aintforever has been defending her by saying she has apologised and therefore hasn't undermined the Government message as much as if she'd lied like Cummings. She has blatantly lied when she went on record to state she booked a test because she had a 'tickly throat'. Try booking a test with your only symptom being a 'tickly throat' and see how far you get! So she either lied in her interview or she lied in order to get a test booked. Either way her 'lies' have undermined the Government message just as much as Cummings.
