Most stupid comment on the innernetz! Almost as bad as Dooby Phil! We don't need Rooney. He is a thug and one of the reasons the England team is being held back.
-
FPMSFL, ROFLMFAO Decent businessmen indeed ROFLMFAO Let's just pick one company they own, Snoras bank. Why is it that such 'decent businessmen' running [presumably] decent businesses, are unable to get a licence to operate their 'bank' in the UK?

Phil, sadly I think you have finally lost the plot! TBF to us, not many of your posts make a great deal of sense, but this one truly takes the biscuit! WTF are you on about! Sounds like something out of conspiracy theory, the next generation! Perhaps avoid posting when bladdered and suffering sleep deprivation?

Corpse, you seem to be conveniently forgetting the sale of Chamberlain which netted [let's be frugal] £10m cash. Add that to your original figures and we're what, probably closer to 50% of turnover. I'd take that kind of figure any day of the week, compared to your [estimated] 120% of turnover

Yes, yes they do! That is why there are PCI - payment card industry - regulations. Merchants are required to keep the copies - with all the details! - for a period of 6 months. 6 months because during that time a payment can be disputed. After 6 months all receipts must be shredded to destroy them. To clear up the debate about customer not present. As DSM has already mentioned it is wholly possible to put through a transaction WITHOUT the CVV, using the numbers from a card. These payments still need to be authorised, either verbally or in writing - such as a signature on an hotel registration form. Not every card machine is authorised to do this, as additional dispensation is needed from the card machine regulators - hence why some posters say yes and some say no! Hopefully this clears up the debate!

Will not happen. The media hype will be bigger than ever - so they can have a bigger go at Where's Wally when we get hammered and don't get through the group stages - remember Turnip Taylor! As a result of this, the St Georges flags will be out in force, with every other house decorated with them, and cars with them all over the bodywork. It'll be truly cringeworthy as ever, but I for one - and not for the first time - will not be participating at all. I can safely say I'd rather watch Eastenders or whatever will be on the other side when the games are on. I was planning to go and stay in my mother in laws flat South of Warsaw for the final fortnight, but really can't be bothered to do that as Spain tickets will be as rare as rocking horse teeth!

Not only that, but even if they are, they will still need the 3 digit code from the back of the card - which they won't have. Besides, they won't even realise until they cash up tonight that they are missing the money. Depends how switched on the manager is as to whether they will find which transaction was not processed correctly. Even when they do find it, they will only be able to rule out theft by an employee as the cause of the loss. I suspect the till is not connected to the pdq machine - it would not have allowed such a mistake if it were - so depending on how busy the store was, it could be an awful lot of work to find £50! So, I guess you're in the clear, but is your conscience

Personally I would go one further. The England failure is wholly attributable to the manager - and to some extent the FA! The manager doesn't care, and successive managers have been this way for many years. I would say this is the fault of the FA paying them inordinate sums of money. What is it £2 or £3m per year! Now I'm not against that per se, it's the state of football these days and we won't change it. What we could do though, and it's pretty easy really. Pay the manager a nominal salary, say £100k per year, and make the rest of the salary performance related. England win games, the manager gets his grubby hands on the cash. This would hopefully encourage the manager to make his selections based on which players are performing at the time, and not just pick the brand names as the easy, lazy option. It would also mean that the manager is hungry for the win, would motivate his players and bring some pride back to the English game. It's not rocket science, but the manager would work for his money, rather than just sit back and count the money regardless of the results, safe in the knowledge that even if he gets sacked he'll have his contract paid up!
-
We won't win because we aren't good enough. We aren't good enough because a succession of England managers have always picked the 'names' or 'brands' that are supposedly national footballing treasures. Sadly, these people know that they will always be picked, so really can't be arsed. Playing for England for them is a chore and not a privilege. Until we get a manager who can instill pride in the team - just take a look at the England cricket team and see what it means to represent their country to those guys - then we will always reproduce the same mediocre pile of shyte! No commitment, no flair, no pride, no-one really caring as they get paid their £100k or whatever a week whether they win or lose. England football sucks. Personally I haven't been interested in it for over 10 years. I really wish we hadn't squeezed out a draw yesterday, and didn't qualify, so I can be spared the mindless nationalistic jingoism from our journalists when the summer comes next year

Are you sure? Whilst in administration and having not confirmed terms of the CVA this was most definitely the case - as it is with all clubs in that situation. However, after exiting admin and agreeing CVA terms, I'm not sure that's the case - I could however be completely wrong, so I'd be happy to be proved otherwise with some sort of clicky linky thingy....
-
Now, I'm not an accountant or specialist in this area, nor would I ever want to defend the skates, but I don't believe it works that way! The CVA doesn't restrict what they can and can't spend now, it only states how much has to be paid back to the creditors and when that money should be repaid - obviously in the case of the skates this timescale is as moveable as a woobly jelly, but that's fine because the [some might say made up] creditors named in the CVA all voted for this clause to be included in it, which is their own fault I guess! I'm pretty sure the CVA doesn't really care how the money is paid back, whenever that may be, it is only concerned with the fact that it WILL be repaid. How the skates do that is up to them I guess. A prudent financial advisor would of course put expenditure limits in place to ensure there was enough cash left over after the running costs are taken out to pay the bill - I guess this is where the £10k average wage comes from. However, if a billionaire bought them [he he], then they would be free to spunk as much cash as they wanted on whatever they wanted, providing the CVA terms and payments were adhered to. At the moment the skates ARE adhering to the terms of the CVA by paying nothing at all to anyone. The muppets voted that they could legally do that, and lo and behold they're taking the utmost advantage of it! Whether they have any intention of ever paying the money back remains to be seen! I wonder how they're getting on deciphering the AA code and which sub £2k creditor is owed what, and who is going to cough up the reddies. It's all gone quiet on that front at the moment, but I'd bet my last pound that they haven't been paid yet!

Indeed. It was posted on here about two months before the new owners announced the wonderful refurbishment of the toilets, that the health and safety inspection before the season started had stated what work needed to be done in order to get the ground OK'd and certificated. It came as no surprise to most of us here, when the new owners announced the refurbishment, it was even posted how much was needed to do the work, so the figure they put out into the open wasn't a surprise either. Except of course to the Corpse who trumpeted the announcement as the new dawn at Fratton, and that everything was rosy in the garden!
-
Wow, the hospitality in the Leeds boardroom must be truly amazing, if the owner of the skates would rather be spending time accepting the mongs to their facbook page! What must it be like to have SUCH a professional owner!
-
Ah bless. A 1-0 defeat again today. My prediction for the press conference : "We were the better team, we dominated the game, we should have won by two or three goals. The ref was incompetent. Leeds didn't deserve to win etc etc "
-
Fpmsfl! If those words fill you with confidence, you must be more barmy than stinky clown boy! In case you haven't noticed, you don't actually have a training ground! How on earth it is possible to put money in and improve something that doesn't exist is beyond me! By the way, some news to upset the apple cart. I received my 'stop' and warning list at work today. Guess who makes a brand new appearance, straight in at number one, for companies to supply to only with a proforma invoice? Yep, that's right, good old Pompey are back on the top of the league for non payers This new dawn didn't last long
-
So is paying the creditors with actual real money, but we all know that hasn't started yet because they don't have any. If the paying creditors money bit is wrong - which is the whole point of a CVA - then we can safely assume that the amount of people needed to show up in order to pay said money is also wrong
-
Not sure how they can say that with such certainty! As the Corpse keeps pointing out, no-one actually knows how much TBH and the other clowns are earning. How much they paid in bungs, er sorry, transfer fees, nor even how much the PL gave them up front from the parachute payments just to stop them trading illegally! How they have managed to work out how many people need to attend a match for the club to break even, when the financials are surrounded in such fogginess is beyond me.... They may need 14k to turn up to break even, they may need 20k! Who knows really, but I'm sure time will tell
-
Completely off topic, but fish that smells of amonia is rotting fish! Nothing to do with the fryer being cleaned with chemicals, as they should only be using hot soapy water anyway! If I were you I'd avoid the chippy in question....

Maybe, just maybe, this will explain where all the missing socks have gone!

And yet the corpse is still bleating on about why the money laundering russian mafia would want to buy Pompey when they are being 'watched' so closely! He still can't put one and one together and get two - perhaps it's the webbing? To spell it out for the corpse once more - I tried a few pages ago, but he could put the holocaust deniers to shame! Pompey are being 'controlled' by the ex head of FA integrity. He will doubtless still have 'buddies' in the FA offering him protection for the right size of brown bag - if the corpse still believes the brown bag culture doesn't exist he's more deluded than clotterill! The question shouldn't be 'why buy Pompey' to launder money, but 'why buy any other club than Pompey'!
-
So, do you think that makes sense? Lampitt was retained because he was already the CEO of Pompey. Chainrai owned Pompey, he sold it to CSI. CSI kept Lampitt in the job he was doing. Meanwhile, Victor Muller owned Spyker, and he sold Spyker cars [sports car division] to CPP which is one of Antonov's companies. Why did Antonov then make Victor Muller a CEO of CSI? That doesn't make any sense at all! That would be the same as buying Pompey from Chainrai, and then making Chainrai a CEO of CSI! Nothing is simple with the Skates is it!
-
Not every club has got the former head of FA integrity as their managing director
-
Corpse, instead of trolling, why not tell us what you're [personal] reaction to the press conference / interview that said a whole lot without saying anything, is? In his own unique way, Mack has let us know his thoughts, so what are yours?
-
Not sure what he's promising to be fair, is he promising that they will still not have proper toilets? Glad to see they've downsized to a stadium from an arena now!
