  1. And also most likely to be uninsured if he is the one mainly driving the car, which will no doubt be registered in his name! My advice, get a moped or scooter, set up the insurance - about £200 a year - stick the moped in the garage, and use public transport until he's at least 25! Insurance for anyone under 25 these days is an absolute joke - we tried getting our 17yo son insured on a polo worth £500, and the cheapest quote was about 4 grand! At lease if he's goes down the scooter route, he will have 3 years NCB when he's 25, and will get a 55% discount.....
  2. You could ask EXACTLY the same thing about drugs. They CAN do it, it IS illegal, so why would they want to? Simple answer is 'the buzz', and I guess peer pressure.
  3. A fair comment, and one I guess that pap will completely ignore! So far, the only solution I believe pap has come up with is to hug the hoodies and try to understand why they are so angry with society!
  4. GREED. Every police constable in the country has been on TV this morning saying the same thing! These people are greedy, they want something for nothing, because OUR society has taught them they can have it! That is the 'cause' of the riots.
  5. As you previously mentioned, the 100 strong peaceful protest to elicit answers from a senior police officer, intended to stay for one hour, but were still there at 9.00pm. From the Guardian article that you posted earlier - see 'timeline' at the bottom of the article : 6 August, 8.20pm Two police cars parked about 200 yards from the police station are set alight. Riots break out in which windows are smashed, a petrol bomb thrown, and buildings set on fire. A double decker bus is also set alight. Police try to break up the crowd but bottles and other missiles are thrown at them. Seems to be a bit of a coincidence that just 200 yards from the police station where the 'peaceful' protest was happening, all of a sudden two police cars are set alight! I would bet good money that some of those involved in the peaceful protest were involved in that arson. I'm not sure why you've taken it upon yourself to defend these people BTF. Let's face it, there are some nasty people in this country. I would wager that the brother of a gun toting gangster [A gun was found at the scene, as verified by the Guardian], is probably one of those nasty people, and would probably be capable of setting fires to police cars - all in my humble opinion of course.
  6. According to the Guardian article that you posted above, it states that around 100 people marched on the Police station 'demanding justice'. I'm not entirely sure what they were after with their demands for justice, but I can't imagine that it would be particularly peaceful. I agree that they have the right to have some questions answered, I just don't believe that they have acted in a way that we would consider - in polite society - the right way to have those questions heard! The police have already stated that there is an independent investigation being carried out, quite how they thought that would give results in 48 hours is beyond me. Perhaps they should wait, as I'm sure most people would do, until the coroner's court is assembled, and raise their questions there. That is after all the system we have in this country isn't it? Unless of course you're saying that it is acceptable that every time someone has a complaint / question for the police, they should round up a hundred or so mates, march to the police station and 'demand justice' for themselves?
  7. Yeah, but if we had a white seat with one red diagonal stripe on it, then that would look truly awesome. We would most certainly be the envy of the entire South coast if we could pull of such an amazing coup.
  8. Lol. 5 yellow cards = how much of a fine? I wonder if they can pay it, or whether they'll be asking H&W to cough up for them
  9. It's like having our own village idiot
  10. Or not.... Perhaps the Clarets can't be tempted to do business due to the structure of the deal Pompey put together, like buy now, pay when we go bust again.... £2.5m is a LOT of money to turn down for an injury prone striker, but not if there's no chance of seeing the cash!
  11. Done. Since the removals company are refusing to respond to any contact I've made to them regarding the damage they caused, I've lodged a complaint for appx £300 with the online service. Have to be honest, it's a really simple procedure to follow, let's hope it gets the right result
  12. And they STILL don't get it! On the one hand I commend the stupid skate for saying they should not be taking the money. On the other hand, he still doesn't get it! Why does he think they are so desperate to get back £2k, probably because every penny counts when you are once again trading on the edge of insolvency! Then he demands they go and sign four more players, doubtless on tens of thousands of pounds per week!
  13. There's already a tax on takeaway packaging, it's called VAT! Instead of finding ways for the government to add more tax onto consumers, how about finding ways to make the government more efficient, get rid of all the red tape and 'non' jobs, and use the money saved to employ people that are actually needed in our society, such as street cleaners, bin emptiers etc! How often do you find a bin these days whilst walking the streets, they're certainly getting rarer, especially the council owned and run ones. So, no, not more tax, as this will just open the floodgates for more pointless taxes.
  14. You realise that foxconn also make motherboards and numerous other components for windows computer too don't you? Also the link with Apple is tenuous at best, being that they supply 'kit' to Apple rather than making the iPads as your post would suggest....
  15. Your wish, and indeed everyone else's, is contained within this website : http://www.ceoemail.com/
  16. That is of course if you believe that the debts were indeed £58m in the first place. It would be much easier to tell if Pompey had followed the rules and published their accounts for the years in question, but since they didn't I guess the only source for those figures is a reporter from the Guardian! I'm guessing the reporter was told those figures by someone at the club, maybe a certain Mr Storyteller, who let's face it had no reason not to lie May I be so bold as to suggest that the debt figure was probably closer to at least £100m, for the simple reason that the gun runner had been syphoning off money from the company for a number of years, then when he did a runner from the bankrupt company, still had the cheek to demand many more millions For the record Ho, I have no proof that the gun runner was taking the money, but even you and pfc would have to agree that it's a far more sensible suggestion to explain where the missing millions went!
  17. I beg to differ! Take a look at your attendance figures, those were not bigger than most CCC clubs That, right there is the reason you went bust! You spent more than you earned, you racked up masses of debts you couldn't afford. Simple economics really. Trying to blame it on the world banking crisis, ebola, the garden gnomes stealing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, or any other ludicrous excuse is just plain stupid! If you'd have had a more astute CEO than storyteller, you may have avoided most of the problems you ended up with. Still, at least he's got the freedom of the city
  18. Most pub companies in the UK made a profit last year, so definitely steer clear of all the pubs in the country. Don't forget the water companies, they made large profits too. Best steer clear of drinking water, having a shower or doing anything that involves water.
  19. Forgive me, but didn't they get rid of all of those last season, claiming they weren't good enough?
  20. Really? I'm guessing you have a link to back up this statement, because, as yet, I believe that none of the small debtors, including the charities that you stole money from, have been repaid yet....
  21. I threatened to take the 'Mayflower' theatre to small claims for canceling 'We Will Rock You' on the night we went! It took about a week of correspondence, but they eventually paid up in full. Looks like I'll be making the same threats to the removals company that moved us last week and managed to make a hole in the brand new lino we'd had put into the kitchen! More than happy to go to court and defend my point of view, especially if the company concerned is being run by muppets!
  22. Sorted it for you
  23. But MAINLY - TO - CHELSEA - FANS
  24. Looking a bit desperate when you have to go back 23 years to find a stat in your favour
