But if they printed the truth they wouldn't be able to use their sensationalist "Clotese" tag....

Think 'Cilla Black' and the dating show - the name of which eludes me, as all I have in my head is 'surprise, surprise'
-
Perhaps there is a different agreement for 'cup' games???
-
Not really Nick. I'm sure you've been around the business world long enough to know that when a new management structure is put in place a lot of the 'old guard' will be upset with the new policies and procedures, especially if it means their 'cushy' job role is changed - I expect there were quite a few 'cushy' roles under the previous regimes.... I would take the post for exactly what it is, one ex-employee disgruntled with his/her previous employer.

Catchy name Does this mean there is now 'officially' only ONE team on the South Coast
-
Phil. You seem to be suggesting that our Chairman should tell a lie to cover up the reason why he has taken his decision. I suspect that once people - and the press in particular - saw through that hopelessly thin lie, all sorts of sh1t would hit the fan. As it is, we have a statement from the club saying in plain old English, not trying to dress it up or hide the fact at all, that this decision was taken solely and simply to make more money for SFC. And yet, look at all the grief this and other threads have generated on the topic, where the club have come out and openly stated the reason behind the decision! The whole South Coast would have gone into meltdown if the club / Cortese had been found out to be lying!!

The rest of your post becomes meaningless..... The simple fact is, you don't know, nor do I, nor, I suspect, does anybody. It was mentioned yesterday in the paper ban thread, that Cortese was in fact being advised by some media guru - we're hugely lucky it isn't Dubai Phil!!! - but whether or not that advice is being adhered to is anybody's guess....
-
Are you sure
-
If every club does it, the press won't have a choice....
-
Or ends up with everyone else 'following suit'.
-
Can't wait 'til the threads about the editor of the Echo appear, telling us what an outrage it is that the paper has not kept it's loyal customers up to date with vital information

Who is [presumably] employed by SFC to do a specific job and create images for the club. The club then owns the copyright for those images, and wants control over how they are reproduced - for a fee, you can buy them and do what you like with them.... Maybe this is so the 'income' from images - ala image rights - can be absolutely discerned, and appropriate taxes paid, thus avoiding the shenanigans that have gone on down the road??? Surely it also means we are 'getting our money's worth' from the employees [photographers] of the club?
-
Seems fair to me.....
-
Do you honestly think that companies - big expensive companies, with lots of money to write off against tax - sponsor football teams because they get a few pictures published in the local rag / and or the Sun? I suspect their sponsorship deals are based more upon the exposure a team will get on Sky and other [possibly international] TV channels.

You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time..... What may annoy some fans - no payment plan - may not bother other fans in the slightest. Therefore a KEY decision for one set of fans, could be completely irrelevant decision for others. Where do you draw the line on the 'key' decisions, and who gets to decide if they're key or not? And Hypo, stop moaning about everything on a bloody messageboard! Try emailing the club to get some of the answers you 'demand' and see if they reply.... I can only imagine that the players are happy with the current training facilities, as I don't recall seeing any of them complaining about them, and surely that is the ONLY thing that matters isn't it???
-
I think we can rule out the Sun and the Echo from sponsoring us, but apart from that it's probably still business as usual.....
-
Have they responded to you yet? After all it is Monday today, so I assume the office staff are back in the office.... Hopefully they've put your mind at ease and assured you it was only the adverts that were missing, but will make a special edition for the next issue including all the adverts just for you

Lucky we weren't shown on a seemingly endless loop on SSN all day Saturday then..... ohhhhh....
-
Not to mention that Chineri was [allegedly] being ratified as a fit and proper person BEFORE the court case so that he could take over immediately after.... So, either they lied about that - pretty sure it was brought up in court??? - or he didn't pass the test
-
Which is unlikely since he is unable to find a team where he can pass the trial.....
-
Nope, you're right, they'll be safe as houses, just ask fans of Chester
-
You make the getting 'rid of' bit sound so easy Assuming you do one day get rid of them, and finally get within your playing wage budget, that doesn't leave any money for their replacements....
-
I suspect there is a scenario whereby the club gets liquidated and HMRC goes after the officers of the company who knowingly traded while insolvent....

I'm sure Stu will be along any minute with a picture of himself eating his hat
