The City Council may ultimately play a huge role in Saints' future. The greatest liability is clearly the stadium finance which is largely through a bond with Norwich Union. However, any asset stripper keen on purchasing the stadium would need to obtain the support of Norwich Union (and other creditors) and clearly any change of usage from football to other (development) usage woudl be conditional on the City Council planners. So, the City Council could play a crucial part in securing a footballing future in St Marys rather than a retailing or residential future. Its important that people understand this/influence the outcome

This is info I have obtained this afternoon from a wholly credible source. An absolutely massive blow, as I read this as relegation now a certainty. While it may in the long term prove a blessing in disguise, this will prove the absolutely bottom point we have reached for many decades. What a return on a long journey! So proud to be a Saints fan. We played hem off the park, never deserved to be 2-0 down in the 1st place (James is a liability). Tremendous scenes both for the 3rd goal and the final whistle. Really impressed by Pearce, McGoldrick, Schneiderlin, Surman and the new lad Goberg (?)
