So a few dodgy tweets and an ageist assumption on competence from a fully grown man making videos to sub 1k people in his basement. Fair play to them for going into public service.

I don’t know about this. Reform are much broader than migration if people bother to look - their economics, for instance, which is unfunded balls. But it is a policy structure. It’s one of the main reasons amongst the people which drives me away. It’s their voters who only talk about immigration not the party officials IMO. The second gentleman saying they’ve gone into councils and it’s shown them up and they don’t know what to do; it’s been all of five minutes. To judge a council’s performance so critically in such a short amount of time screams pre-judged bias.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
SotonianWill replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Whether we’re paying the price is up and down. Most of these would be good points if only there hadn’t been governments between 1990 and today. To say Thatcher is why this country is in the sh1t is lazy. Council housing, as one of example: why did the Labour govt of Blair build less stock per year than even Thatcher? They kept the right to buy policy intact, despite being less generous with grants. Regarding the ANC and S. 28, I don’t see the relevance today. More mines were shut under Wilson, at least double that of Thatcher, with many, similar to the 80s, not given redeployment. British steel has always been uncompetitive. I support nationalisation with a view to a sunset clause but see it through security - but generally, how is continually proving up failing subsidised business a great thing in your eyes? Water privatisation we’re feeling the force of now. Once again govts since Thatcher should’ve done more. The poll tax is the big one, which, amongst other factors, has certainly made the union weaker. But devolution to a certain extent isn’t a bad thing. To blame Thatcher solely for all troubles is lazy oversimplification and a wool over the eyes treatment to the previous 40 years. -
The Reform-Hokey-Pokey continues. Yusuf returns to the cult. Having still been a Tory until recently - even when platforming Reform - he’s used to being a bit confused. He would be converted many times on the way to Damascus.

University research on the influence of Andrew Tate on masculinity
SotonianWill replied to theacademic's topic in The Lounge
Andrew Tate’s masculinity is the result of the liberal world where sleeping with anyone who breathes is socially okay, whilst making money from pornographic content is seen as empowering, and where materialist possessions are everything. Ah, the liberal world we live in. He is the ultra liberal. He just doesn’t realise it - no different from the soy-sippers he jokes about. The product of full emancipation from social responsibility. -

I just completed the questionnaire #beta -
In all fairness, we have more claim to it than they do. Even their airfield (now airport) is in our name; Woolston being the true home of the Supermarine factory, now flats, like all things these days. Titanic is a no go as it’s a tragic moment in our great city’s history with over a third of those perishing being locals - not that anyone on this thread needs reminding. Other options - Queen Mary?

My sister gifted me a copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray for my birthday last Tuesday. It’s my second read of the novel, having done so a few years before - it’s only short. Must say it’s as criminally marvellous as it was before.

I like the fact the news makes it out like people my sort of age think his views are sacred and that’s why people are bad today. Literally everyone I know think he’s an arse and he’s a memed figure 😂

I value @east-stand-nic’s contributions. Most interesting and provides a polarised opinion, which is why I also enjoy SOG and co. from other sides. Nic does sound like a few I hear from on the Ugly Inside, I wonder if you have an account Nic (?). I’m not a member on here so can’t PM you to ask.

Men and women have different chemical and hormonal responses, of course they react differently to one another. Also, there’s one key to men objectifying women in the modern age and it’s so easy to access: P-O-R-N. Cut that and we cut 99% of objectification problems. It makes people weird, increasingly sexually minded (this is normal, but porn undoubtedly makes people think about sex all the time), and it normalises abuse behind the terms of “fetishes.” On adultery and the like, this is a societal problem caused by a break of the family unit, coming from R. Jenkins onwards.

What if they purchased the ticket with the expectation of 23 victories. Any less, you claim a full refund.

The problem doesn't start with the likes of Andrew Tate / toxic influencers, but it does come from the before stage: a percieved hatred of young men which leads them to watching this content. The Tates and their ilk come from what is called the red pill - essentially the get to the gym and get your game up type for people who are depressed to start with. Therefore, replacing Tate with a liberal lovey and continuing to spread the word that men do bad things, whilst helpful for awareness, is going to continue the cycle until you reach the actually roots. This siege mentality can then lead to a blaming of feminism or other forms based on women. Young men feel as though they're being told daily that they are evil. Toxic masculinity rolemodels are models of a man to the extreme (hence why it may fool some). If, instead of being taught that masculinity in any form is bad and that men are evil, schools taught that masculinity is at least acceptable, they could do the teaching earlier to a moderate degree - not the toxicly masculine reactionary. I'll add to this that parents should be doing this, but, trust me, the anti-male bollox in the schools pushing people to this far outweights one of two conversations with ones parents.

SR are the best thing to happen to this club. They have opened my eyes as to how the worst things of my life are actually the best. We are blessed with life itself.

There must be an element of being around and playing with established good players also. There’s surely no coincidence that many sons of professional footballers are fairly decent (even semi pro level is above the average) - I note Paul Skate Merson’s son scored a good technical goal the other week. There’s long hours of repetition, but if you’re playing with those who are already skilled (and therefore highly paced), this is bound to accelerate your ability.
