Agreed, Martin is such a project manager. That’s fine and dandy in the prem, but with the best squad in the league just get someone who’ll put the best 11 on the pitch and tell them to play. I mentioned it last game. If Martin can't put someone on the half way line after we continuously get caught on the break from our our own set plays... how can we expect him to change anything else. It's basic.

Martin doesn’t learn. Perfect example on attacking corners we still have no one at least on the half way line in case of a counter. If he can’t even address this problem then god help us. I feel bad for the defenders who have no options from a non existent midfield to pass to. Half our players (defence) are passing amongst themselves and the other half are all camped on the half way line. There’s quite literally no in between. This allows teams to drift through us out of possession as well. It’s a sh*t show tactically.

Could hear the Northam from the itchen for the first time in a while. Good support. Heard backboard banging from the chapel but looked pretty dead in there. Itchen was good first half, dead second but who can blame the fans - oh wait, Russell Martin.

With the quality we have, if we’d have picked a manager with a solid base then i’m confident we’d have a great chance of going up. I was happy with Martin, but with his kamikaze defending (I have no problem with the passing football, only the defensive structure) I can’t even see a clean sheet this season let alone a promotion.
