Patrick80's, Southampton says... 9:59pm Sat 2 May 09 From The Times April 27, 2009 Clubs look to their new Hero for cashTony Evans At least six Football League clubs have begun negotiating with a City-based investment fund in the hope of borrowing money in the close season. The majority are believed to come from the Coca-Cola Championship, including Southampton, who were relegated to League One on Saturday and whose holding company is in administration. The managers of Hero Global Football Fund, which is in the process of raising money from investors and will not begin lending until May 31, confirmed yesterday that they have been contacted by a number of clubs seeking cash injections in the fragile economic climate. Hero was set up last year by Nick Hely-Hutchinson and Damian Roberts, City fund managers, to invest in football without taking equity in clubs. Backed by Emirates Bank, Hero plans to raise up to £100 million in its inaugural football-based fund, based on minimum subscriptions of £100,000 and will make funds available to clubs linked to buying and selling players. The finance will be secured across the squad rather than against an individual player’s value. “There’s been a large amount of interest around the league,” Roberts said. “A lot of clubs are looking for capital to finance buying new players or keeping their squad together.” Related Links Football's reckless gamblers cost taxpayer Football League clubs face ' reality check' An executive board of Alan Hansen, the pundit, David Elleray, the retired referee, and David Davies, the former chief executive of the FA, are on hand to advise about football matters but the fund managers are keen to play down concerns that Hero could influence decisions in the transfer market. “The club decides what to do with the money,” Hely-Hutchinson said. “We have no say in their buying and selling. There is no third-party ownership. Any players bought with our funding belong to the club and the club makes all the decisions. That’s why we need to be certain that the business is being run the right way.” Keith Harris, the former chairman of the Football League and chairman of Seymour Pierce investment bank, believes that more clubs will turn to Hero for funds. “Banks are becoming unwilling to lend to football clubs and even when they do it is short term and very expensive,” Harris said. “In contrast, Hero’s player finance is secured across a squad, giving solid security to the lender with the flexibility that individual players can leave and be replaced. “A fund like this has long-term money from its investors so it can offer long-term funds to clubs.” Hero will invest 20 per cent of its fund in developing youth programmes and has made a cash injection to the Glenn Hoddle Academy. WHY IS THE ECHO NOT REPORTED THIS ?

  15. Have you any thoughts on who it might be Morph!
  16. Lets get things sraight once and for all on this point of Crouch's backing of Wilde! This was only done after Leon had a meeting with Lowe to sound out what Lowes plans were, and found out he had no plans to change anything at all! Thats why Leon switched to Wilde, because he knew a change was needed to the way the club was being run. We were all fooled by "THE LIAR WILDE" !! Just get over it! As for Lowe's epitaph: It reads , got in to football with a few dishonest friends to make lots of money(and boy did i), fleeced it of lots of £'s(with chums Cowan, Askam &CO) by running it like "POUNDLAND" cheap and cheerful which got them relegated (costing them even more £'s) and still fleeced it and its fan's. Sorry they dont have fans , just customers! Got kicked out! Got back in with his new significant other (Wilde) fleeced them again, got them relegated again with two dutch cheese brothers Gouda and Edam playing "Total footall" with "Total youth" which = TOTAL CRAP! and left rubbing salt in by (hope not) putting the club out of buisness! And finally Money, i dont bring money in , i just take it out! What fine epitaph!!!
  17. I just love how the Lowe/Wilde-lovers cain Crouch for the Dodd/Gorman ****-up, but dont show the same enthusiasm for Lowe's appointment of JP.And how many games did he ****-up, and how close to relegation did he take us while he was here! Oh yeah we are relegated!

  24. Check this out!!!! Joined: 11 Jun 2007 Location: Munich Posts: 284 Germany 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey 2-stroke oil and diesel To all interested: due to the pollution control measures of the EC diesel-oil is nearly sulphur free and contains up to 5% of bio-diesel. Sulphur has the property to grease the high pressure injection pump and the injectors. Without sulphur, the reduced greasing property of the new diesel has already shown negativ impacts on the long-term stability of the injectors and the high pressure pump. The pump manufacturers have tried to react by lining the moving parts of the pumps with teflon or other suitable material. However, the long term stability is still not achieved as with the old (sulphor contained) diesel. The engine-research centre of a well known German car manufacurer has conducted some long term tests of diesel additives to find out whether any one of them will have an impact on the long term reliability of the diesel engine components. This introduction to explain were my information comes from. The results of this research: any diesel additive of any manufacturer presently on the market is not worth the money! BUT: 2-stroke oil, which we use in our motor saws, lawn mower or in 2-stroke motor engines has shown to have an extreme positive impact on diesel engines, if such 2-stroke oil is added to the diesel in a homoeophatic dosis of 1:200. In practical terms: 0,300 litre of 2-stroke oil into the 70l diesel tank. The 2-stroke oil will be absorbed by the diesel (emulsion) and grease every moving part of the high pressure pump and the injectors. Besides this, the 2-stroke oil will keep the diesel engine clean, as it burnes cleaner as the diesel itself. In other words, the 2-stroke oil has a much lower ash-content as diesel, when burned. This proven fact delays the DPF (diesel particulate (soot) filter) to clogg, and the "burn free" process of the DPF will be much less. One more information: in Germany we have to present our cars every 2 years to the TUV -Technical Supervision Organisation - who will check, amongs others, the pollution of petrol and diesel engines. The measured cloud-factor of a diesel engine without use of 2-stroke oil has been 0,95. The same factor with the use of 2-stroke oil has been 0,47 - reduction of nearly half of the soot particles. Besides this, the use of 2-stroke oil in the diesel will increase the milage by 3-5%. Yamaha-Fan LINK:http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic878.html?highlight=stroke+oil
