Wasn't there a single person at our club to advise him otherwise? Or is this a result of SR having gutted all the scouting, into data led decisions, so we only had interns to send. "Southampton's key defence was that Tonda didn't know and it didn't come up at the garden centres our interns worked at." Tonda, unlike us, can always just move up to the PL, as I understand it's not a rule there.

I heard he'd been put off his game, by someone lurking behind a tree.

This is where I am. Yes, they have made a decision (appeal pending). Yes, if we did it, there should be punishment. If we did it often, it should be more. The jump from the pre-rule punishment to here just seems massive. Yes, the club should have taken the worst case scenario in the open ended list of sanctions as possible. But, had we missed out through results, I'd have been hoping to build on this season to get us over the line next season. So caught between the club accepting accountability and the pitfalls of tearing it all up again for next season. Mind you, if I had worked my butt off to be a match away from a 40% pay rise plus loads of bonuses and career opportunities, only for my bosses to screw it up, I'd be questioning my loyalties.

Yes, we will have analysts near other clubs training grounds. Not to watch their traing. Just to capture all the other clubs' analysts breaching the 72 hour rule. Although, this decision should put a stop to that.
-
Consider the rule having been in place, and then Bielsa popped up to say they'd always done it. Going by this result, Leeds would be:- Deducted a massive of points. But, if the play off result here is followed through, then automatically relegated. Either with matches voided or an automatic 3-0 victory awarded to all opponents. If it's systemic, at what point do you rely on individual clubs coming forward, before determining it was likely all of them, and punish accordingly.

In the semi final, when we were getting lots of corners, I was thinking how great it was we were so good at them, with THB and even Matsuki getting central. Then it dawned on me why that might be.
-
Nope. That's gone. I don't know if we appeal, they will have to rearrange it. Just to have to go through the process, if nothing else.
-
Don't know yet if we are going to appeal? Only then will we presumably get all the details. A 4 point deduction as well for next season (that possibly higher, but we cooperated?) So, up there with breaching financial rules, over an extended period. I'm still shocked. Seeing we were guilty even of one game, deemed that we could not be seen to proceed from there. That we played, and won, the second leg became irrelevant. They couldn't retroactively impose a 3-0 defeat. Had it been a league game, that might have been the decision. We don't know all the details yet. One one hand Tonda has led us this far, becoming the in form team of the division. If we lose the/ don't appeal, how much of that squad will go into next season? On the other, this is a mark on the club that is not going away for a very long time. Something that lasts well beyond the manager and the owners. If we hadn't done this, and lost, we'd be looking ahead with some confidence.

Stunned they've reached that decision. Obviously, we're not privvy to the evidence reviewed. Seems completely disproportionate, if it was a one off.

All player contracts would be terminated. I just hope that those who are blameless, can somehow move on with their lives. The women's team could use the stadium. After they and the stadium rename themselves, to distance themselves from the shame. That's a constructive view. Obviously, the main feeling would be to dismantle the stadium. While salting the earth at Carthage was a myth, we could apply that here. Then leave it as a stark warning to others about fair play. A cautionary relic that clubs like Man City, Chelsea and Leicester can look at it and say thanks that it could never be them.

One of our arguments in the hearing is that looking at their training made no difference, as @Turkish had already predicted the outcome. 🙂
-
I'm not sure that a Neil Shipperley book is going to make that much of a difference.
-
In fairness, that unbeaten run prediction is going quite well. 🙂
-
Aw. But that takes away the fun of guessing when he'd get it naturally.
-
As long as the others are there tied together. At least we have a chance and it's not dependent on Downs and Baz. 🙂
-
It'll be worth it, when he gets here.

No survivors = no witnesses.

Lazy lot. Newer pic are easy enough to find. Well done Ross! (Stay injury free)

Prediction: Fine of more than £2million Some scouting restrictions, and ensuring correct internal training is in place. Suspended points deduction of 3 points, reduced to 2 as we've cooperated.

I turned over to hear the commentary say "he can find an angle. He can find a pass." JWP passed it 5 yards sideways. 🙂

I agree with this rumour, as a proportionate response.

He needs time to build his approach. He has to have a squad capable of doing at least the basics. He needs a bit of patience. Not the best fit for any of that. A bit of #Watfordwatch next season, as I'm always curious to see how his system gets on.
