Such a poor display. Hull have a side built on a fraction of the resources we have. It's put together to be the best that it can be, as a unit, and they've had rumblings of transfer restrictions over them. We, on the other hand, still go by SR's incoming mantra. Lowest possible individual wages. Buy potential. Make profit. So Hull have a core of experienced pros, capable of working together and digging out some progress in games. We have a group of players at a stepping stone club, who aren't capable of filling key roles in a football team, following the latest set of mediocre instructions from SR's latest "project" manager. We are where SR set out their stall to be, from the moment they took over. A championship level side, that they are cleverly maximising the potential of to rake in profits. Except, their appalling grasp of squad management, player and manager recruitment and the history of football has just left us with a championship level squad bereft of a clue, a structure and any cohesion. They have put in money, and have good intentions. Just let down by all of their decision making. Players who can look to be in the next team:- Stephens - who offered a couple of runs, that at least forced Hull to think. AA - Who looks frustrated at not being picked. Fraser - Put in more of an effort than any of the others. The rest can be added to the names of the away fans today, and put into a selection tombola for next time out.
-
Nearly concede right after it though. We were probably in shock at getting a goal.
-
AA consolation!

Big Sam wouldn't be hired by SR, because Big Sam would have seen through them in a moment, and demand a different approach. Only up and coming hipster managers are every on SR's radar. Mutual pretence on both sides.

I'm disappointed with Stephens. It all a bit mouth and hair pulling. He ducked out of that confrontation. If he's here for his aggression, I expect a bit more than that. 🙂

I'm wondering who to support in my new save of Football Fan Manager 26.

THB throws himself to the ground as their player just runs past him the other way. Well blocked THB.
-
Archer:- Offside Couldn't control it Got muscled off it Another forward incoming. Sorry... "forward"
-
Hang on...one of their crosses got headed by their own player... and when that happened it went in... That never happens when we do it. What a surprise. Experienced pros with a plan, get the job done over player traded clueless ones for the future.

Miles over from Manning.
-
In SR's minds, they dealt with all of those quickly. Brought in Downs Gave Stephens an extension Checked to see if Pep was still Man City boss, as one day Baz will go back there as number 1. Decisive stuff from SR.
-
"This could fall kindly for Manning" Who promptly gives it away. Like Downes in a previous game, some of our players really don;t know what to do in those positions or they are now scared.
-
Here we go ... Archer for Downs Scienza for Mads AA on for Fellowes
-
Downs link up... miles away from Fraser. Can;t put together a couple of passes in attack or defence. Hull delighted to let us have possession elsewhere. There's no threat. Hull making changes, while we sit on our hands.
-
No, we could still be in one of them and go down. 🙂
-
Second goal after an utterly rubbish give away. They drive forward and bury it in a way that is beyond us.
-
They probably look great in training. But then, the only keepers and defence that would have trouble with them, are ours. 🙂
-
Charles air shot. Sums up our efforts really.
-
Downs not on the end of a header. Jander bizarrly gives them the ball back, and we were lucky not to gret punished from it. Doens;t look as though we've kept up training from corners. Sinking back into that lack of urgency. Playing the ball by the numbers rather than with any desire. Bright Moment: Stephens having a shot, and getting a corner from it.
-
More possession, without really threatening. Laboured in possession. Taking ages to get a move going, resulting in Hull having no problems getting into a defensive shape. At a goal down, we're going to have to break them down, but won;t bother them at that pace. Hulls' team is a Championship one, built on their available pennies to build as best they can. It's got solid Championship names in there, with experience and working as a unit. SR have given us a Championship team built for player trading more than where we don't have the experience, teamwork or the best players we could have in key positions. Well done SR. Good moments: Stephens gave us 3 seconds of moving from defence into midfield. That was about as uncomfortable as it got for Hull, as their shape had issues in compensating. Downs was through from a good pass, but put it wide. We slowly were getting a few balls into the box late on in the half. Nothing driven in or difficult to deal with.

Got promoted from this division with someone. 🙂

Doctor Frankenstein looked at his new creation. "Well now I know what not to do, the only thing that can go wrong next time is if it falls on it's head. Even then, I bet I can get Saints to sign him... I'll call that one Vestergaard."
-
Stephens sees some space... and actually moves into it. What's this... he strides into the midfield, and Hull have to drop back to pick up defensive positions... we look capable for a second and we get an actual attack. Comes to nothing obviously, but finally a moment of forward thinking though.
-
We get into their third: They are already there, because it's taken us an age to get up there, and we have no momentum. They get the ball in our third and have runners, and we seem to fall back to make blocks from being on the back foot. That seems to be our season so far. It's very poor
-
Faced with looking for movement from his own team, THB ends up hoofing it out. We are incredibly slow in getting our moves started. The paciest moments are when we try to play RussBall, and we know that wasn;t quick a lot of the time. We just have no drive, pottering around hoping that their defence falls over, rather than pushing at them. That said, we've lumbered into their third a few times in recent minutes. The Downs effort that should have been on target, and a shot there from Fellows that was no where. Downs just giving away a freekick when it would have been our corner. >sigh<
