Hi Christophe! Thanks for sharing. Who do you see departing from that 24, and where do you need strengthening?

As with most things, there's a fair bit going on. It looked as though our scouting had identified the likes of Delap and O'Riley. It ended up looking like SR's usual putting their eggs in one basket, only for someone else to take it to the check out. But I don't know if scouting had lined up viable alternatives. Was the drop off to what we got because there weren't any, or that we just didn't find any, which is a bit of a fail? Added to that is SR's player trading model. They want a squad of players on championship wages (Ramsdale being a possible exception), that then get boosted if we go up, to make them lower paid PL players. That maximises their appeal and sell on to other clubs. So, scouting could have identified lots of players only for them not to get any further due to personal terms. I imagine Leeds are a bit more willing to not only pay the transfer fee, but pay an attractive PL salary. We have different criteria in place to some other clubs. In the season when we did go up, Leeds loaned out 19 and moved on 17. Last season, it was moving on 24 and loaning out 14. Not all first teamers, but still a massive churn of player squad. My memory cell tells me they had a lot of first teamers that had loan options, that they took. I don't know how many they had to sell to balance the books compared to how many wanted to jump ship. My point being that they may not have wanted to shift as many first teamers. Certainly their best ones. Martin had their number, as they played into his system, so I'd argue on how many of those that would have got into our team. I think @Farmer Saint compared the sides, with 4 of ours getting into theirs, and me with about 7. I think SR should be strengthening the first eleven in exactly the positions they should have at the end of their first window. A DM ( because they moved on Romeo) and an Adams upgrade (Adams himself would walk back into the side). Great if we could also get a Tella replacement (something they also said they were doing) and they have said they're looking at an attacking midfielder this window too. But the DM and forward would have given the revolving door of our managerial appointments much more of a chance. Instead of outsourcing first teamers, we could bring others in to give us strength and depth, while moving on our current squad players. Ramsdale, McCarthy Bree, Welington, Sugawara, Manning Bednarek, THB, Edwards, Quarshie (who is the new DC), Stephens, Taylor NEW DM, Charles, Fernandes, NEW AMC, Downes Armstrong, Edozie, NEW AM L/R, Fraser, Dibling NEW FC, Archer, Stewart That's 25 (with a couple of peripheral ones who could also go) with youth to fill out the rest (Bragg, Akachukwa, O'Brien-Whitmarsh, Robinson, Ballard, Sanda). Already moved on, or about to:- Lallana, Lumley, Payne, Gronbaek, KWP, Onuachu, Larios (loan) Sulemana. Only KWP would be a starter. Others to Loan or Depart:- Bazunu, Wood, Bella-Kotchap, Smallbone, Juan, Aribo, BBD

Is there a danger that an foreign increase in the rento Takaoaka market will result in locals being priced out of the buyo Takaoaka market, destabilising the other redevelopment plans?

Is that ironic? π

It seems tough now. But when SR announce their PSR beating revenue stream of having the squad also play a full basketball season, it will all be worth it. All trained by basketball ace, Yukinari Sugawara, so there's prize money coming too.

π Not long to go before the Euros starts. Hopefully, it will be every bit as good as the last one.

It's so often the way. Someone gets a prestigious award, say the H&W Poster of the season. But where to go from there? The downward spiral begins. Before long they have abandoned all standards, mixing with humour levels that were once far beneath them. But that's where fellow posters can help! For a small monthly fee to H&W's Help Whitey Appeal, we can get our esteemed poster back to the levels that gave us the "Scissors of Damocles" post from just last season! Could you live with yourself if a desperate Whitey was reduced to MLG's tumbleweed attracting Toys-R-Us lyrics? Or if he suddenly took an interest in xG? I thought not. Help Now! π

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

No, you are wrong. π -
A couple of powerful headers with decent centre forward positioning, one decent poachers goal and one where he looked too knackered to do anything other than stop running, but it hit off him anyway. A panic buy to support a manager who was already rambling towards the exit. That was followed by systems that were never a fit, long spells out of the side and random appearances when managers had gone through every other option. In those he often wheezed and puffed after 20 minutes. Having said that, in at least one wheezing, puffing game he did keep it going and looked better for a while, before it finally took its toll. When he did appear, managers really didn't set up to take advantage of his strengths. A poor signing for all concerned, with only his bank balance, and agent, having done well out of it.

Delgado and Osvaldo.

On Stewart, it's a combination of not thinking any club in their right mind would take him and, if fit (I know), him being the best all rounder in that position we currently have. So, if he's fit (I know) he's in line for minutes, as it stands (until it can't stand and limps off). On Armstrong, everyone will be disappointed with his PL seasons. That, and him going out on a not successful loan spell at raise questions. For me, if he still shows the desire from the last Championship season, he'll work his way into getting minutes. Probably not as a sole forward though, which doesn't work as much as he might want to play there.

Meanwhile the local vet remains baffled at why the farm animals are terrified during transfer windows. π

Although that was partly as Armstrong and BBD were away on loan, so couldn't have caused anyone problems for us in the 2nd half of last season. Not that they'd have caused many problems if they were here, so you're right enough. π
