Although, if it's hard, then that's a bit of a giveaway should the first sentence be ignored.

Thierry Small and Ings both came on around 60minscin the PNE v Sheff Utd games. Small made an immediate impact, operating as a left wing back. He got a decent pass in, followed by losing possession and then a tame shot. As Utd pushed to get an equaliser, he dropped back a bit. His air clearance nearly gifted Utd their goal. But he looked to pick out an attacking pass, that Martin would have moved him out the club for. It didn't reach it's target. But PNE won the next ball resulting in Smith missing a sitter. A shift in momentum Martin would never understand, and a good spot from Small. Ings had less sight of the ball. Preston worked really hard all game. In the closing stages, he fell over to not get a penalty and put a last second free kick over the bar. But you could see him lurking in the middle, just waiting for a ball. He had a decent couple of touches to get things moving further back, but not much in front of goal, mainly due to service. Small a wing back much better forward than back, who looks to have bulked up a bit. Ings an impact sub, but still with that eye for goal.

The Beeb's Euro football spent some time talking about where Juve have apparently fallen to over recent years behind the scenes. They could well be open to being fooled by/ buy into someone with Spors background as being the solution.

We now have wide players who can aim for his nose.

It's a matter of time before we all end up being recruited to the forums of bigger clubs.

Totally understand the cynical view of the victims. I've no idea of who has been involved or the scope of discussions they've had to this point. Nor on the source of any advice they've had. From what I gather, some of the victims raised concerns. For Phillips to use the word "untrue" regarding people who have been dismissed repeatedly by those in authority over decades, could reasonably be taken very badly. Such is the nature and length of the abuse and lack of action across any number of abuse allegations, it's no wonder that there's pressure on the scope. However, that pressure shouldn't be coming from authority, regardless of their concerns over resources, timing etc. It's been over many decades, so there's not a political party or authority that gets to score points. Where someone has concerns about ethnicity being pushed aside, using "untrue" isn't a great way of reaching a common consensus. Likewise for those concerned about the presence of police and social services on running it. This isn't the first enquiry where there's been tone deafness on who best to be chair. It's reasonable that some victims don't trust anyone connected with the services that repeatedly let them down, be in charge.

See you in league 1 🙂

Yet SR would have us believe they're shrewder than a whisker of Shrewsbury supporting shrews.

If by "masterclass" you mean delusional arrogant charade, I think you're onto something there. 🙂

He's got a hat just waiting to be thrown in to the ring. 🙂

So he's already been working on having things in common with our club. That's the sign of a top coach. 🙂

Apparently the Bristol City boss got 10 or 11 goals out of him at Koln. Hopefully the focus of Still's post match manager catch up. Completely agree about their Armstrong. His limitations are obvious and his own club are expecting more goals. Yet, the benefit of just having someone to win a challenge, hold it up for a second, create space for others. Any number of players would have offered us at least that. But SR are smarter, as they've been in every window since they took over. Maddening.

With his first touch, he took the ball down but gave it away in doing so. He gave it away a couple of times. But at least 1 was an attempted decent pass. Can't recall him winning a challenge. He didn't seem likely to either. So not offered anything from deep lying positions or from being a target in the box. He did pop up centrally in front of the keeper once, although we didn't get it to him. We're just a mess. We've no idea how to get anything out of him. And he doesn't offer much to the things we've tried. But we don't try anything consistently for anyone up front to build momentum and opportunities.

Not even a surprise to see the game go that way. Our weaknesses have been clear with this season's set up for a while. In the second half Scienza rattled the bar and Charles had a golden chance with a header. Both players get credit for all the good work to get into those positions. Because we created nothing as a team. Broadly the team is toothless up front, entirely missing centrally and disconnected being forced wide or with riskier passes. AA continues to work hard, although there's no one to deliver it to him quickly when he could deliver. He needs a partner with some contrast. SR decided that was Downs. Charles is slowly getting better when getting forward, although he's not as good in that role as Stu or even Will were. Robinson tried some solo efforts when he came on. Just when we should have been looking to get more from AA and Downs being on there. All of that makes us unlikely to break anyone down. And when we can't do that, we've every chance of giving opponents more chances. Jander's was a very poor chance to concede the third. But we didn't look likely to recover from the second, where we didn't cover ourselves in glory either. They put on their Armstrong. He's a stock forward. Strong, not masses of pace but a little. He caused more problems than our entire attack managed. He wasn't in the top two of their attackers on that performance either. Same issues:No centre forward. No attacking midfielder. No proper defensive midfielder. Edwards right of a back 3, with Fraser as a wing back while Bree got punted on loan and Mads dropped and a back 4 seems like it's beyond us. No real plan of attack and no strength physically or mentally.

I trust Katie Lam coverage isn't going to interfere with Katie Hopkins coverage. I rely on SOG's obsessions to remind me who these people are.

Back to traditional flag waving! If you're not a Morris dancer, then out you go. Regardless of ethnicity.

What?! There goes an afternoon writing "welcome Maccabi Haifa" onto giant English flags for nothing. Thanks a bunch egg.

I'm enjoying watching VA after dinner on Fridays. Which is more than any of the VA fans do under SR, right enough.
