If you take the transitions his team performed and divided it by his budget, then compared to all the other clubs in Europe he was "pound for pound" one of the best. It has to be said, this was mostly against teams with eleven players. As fans, we could have been more front footed to embrace him, helping him defeat tougher opponents with ten players. It's all on us.

I'd rather not look too closely, to see what they've done with the cigars. -
I thought it was Vestergaard's player who went in for the rebound, while our ex-player had been drawn into the middle. I just want to go up. Not fussed if it's second. We're right behind though with plenty of games left. Just relying on our record being extended further for a bit.

So much for a promotional post for his potential suitors...

Alex McCarthy "staggering" - Kopp "fantastic" - Adkins Played in top six levels of English football by 22. England full and Under-21 international, with first suggestions of England international potential a decade ago. Replaced another England international in a Premier League side. Southampton player of the season in the Premier League. Resiliant, making returns to the side replacing Forster, Gunn and Bazunu in the Premier League. Where wages aren't an issue (and who knows what McCarthy would accept if given a longer term contract), you could do an awful lot worse.

What about those who excel at more than one sport? Bob Hayes (sprinting and American Football),Didrikson Zaharias (javelin, hurdles, golf and high jump), Oscar Pistorius (sprinting and shooting).. no, wait, not that last one...

On Police Advice, Zombie Hordes were to be treated as pitch invaders by match officials. That must be back in the late '80s now. Football's just not the same these days...

Caught last 10 mins or so on the radio... Clinton Morrison doesn't think there's enough in a challenge for a second yellow. Fair enough. But once the ref goes over to the monitor, and Clinton is told what that means, there's a rapid bit of back peddling. Seeing the replay... "Oh, that's high, that's high... well, not high... um... but out of control..." Just one example of a painful 10 mins of commentary.

No change there. The last time, I was listening to a number of Beeb and Talksport interviews. No one had read the ruling, no one understood what exactly it was for, everyone thought it was far too harsh based on nothing. Our football experts at work. That was when one of their supporter group guests, said the fans would be behind the club, because that's what they always do. That gave me a laugh.

Ex-Saints coaching staff Sparkes and Eddie Niedzwiecki having left, costs cut and offers for players considered, not long after fans told it wouldn't happen. 3 points from safety and they've had a points deduction already. A grim time for Reading.

Scott Marshall. Lots less than 200. A player who will live long in my memory.

Trapped under the cat, listening to 5 live football nuggets like... Possession stats don't mean anything. Except for Man Utd, where they do. Statistically, a manager is worth 4 points a season. When faced with some questions on whether that would apply replacing top of the league manager with the bottom, there was nothing behind the stat. Some mewling that it came from Liverpool. Conversely, teams are only ever as good as their win record for this lot. Discussion on Newcastle's drop in position, even with some stats supplied, doesn't get under the hood as to why. Man Utd are disjointed, but no depth. Just bouncing around the team, tutting. Last week, I caught 5 mins and it was "How can Arteta solve Arsenal's issues?" When asked what these issues were, there was some awkwardness and it was basically, how can they win more games. So, not the wheels coming off then.

C'mon... Home against Man Utd

I just hope that, if we go up, that we learn from the relegations of Everton, Forest and Man City. Ideally they'd find some way to demote more than 3, allowing us up automatically. Guy on Beeb saying that the consolidation of financial power with the big clubs, was some unforseen side effect of these things coming in. They couldn't wait to kick the ladder away behind them.
