  1. Plenty of pace getting back to stop that attack. Doubling up too.
  2. Interesting. Smallbone deliberately not offering himself up for a pass out wider. Gesturing for it to be more direct that time.
  3. I was just about to type that I was looking forward to seeing Stu and Edozie link up. They'e done well in the past, and we just got a lot of good movement between them and AA. Edozie tricky to deal with in the tight spaces, and Stu gives him support and an outlet.
  4. On a booking after putting his team under pressure. Not the right attitude at all.
  5. Nice. A big thump, right down the middle for AA. Good to see us looking to mix it up a bit. They are getting into too many attacking positioins, so need to be taking advantage of that space.
  6. Huddersfield trying to creep up on Mr Cool Baz as he waits and waits to take the kick. 🙂
  7. Off down the tunnel for Sule... took a knock or taking the huff?
  8. Tempo not enough there. Little passing triangles caught out. Need ot be more aware/ sharper than that.
  9. Twice in this spell, Smallbone gets it and we immediatelt look calmer and more structured. Three times now...
  10. They had 2 lining up for that one. Corner to them.
  11. Sulemana really overdoing it there. Just needed to pass it clear. Stu telling him as much. This has come from a misplaced Bednarek pass. We had plenty back to deal with it, which is more than early MartinBall. But we're struggling to get it clear.
  12. Oooft. I thought for a seocnd we wern;t clearing that one. Bree, right at the end.
  13. Excellent AA tracking across to break up their move.
  14. Patient, patient ...they don;t come out... we start stepping it up and with something more direct, it's in. Nice move and goal machine AA on the end of it.
  15. He's done well more than once, coming on as a sub to see games out for us. The last of which, he looked a lot sharper and more mobile. He linked up well and offered a physical presence we lack elsewhere (Stewart might change that). While he's not as effective in whole games, we might have hoped for, he's definitely filling a roll (not just eating rolls) at the minute, and is worth having in the squad.
  16. As Saint_clark said, he's not really seen enough game time, regularly, to get match sharp, let alone put a run of form together. Young, and not realistic to have expected him to hit the ground running. He did show some nice moments, but they seem a while ago now. Playing him wider didn't work. But again, he's not exactly played there much either. With Stewart now fit, Mara drops down the pecking order. But Adams may go in January, and we could be leaving ourselves too light should both go, without a replacement. "flop" is very harsh, considering the circumstances of our last couple of seasons. He'll have been working away to fit somewhere into Martin's system. If it doesn't work, then a loan or a move away. He's plenty of time to push on elsewhere, where he'll get that game time and perhaps a system that works for him.
  17. Agree with this. On the tackling, while it's still one of his weaker areas, it has been getting better. I'd also add that he's been getting better in a lot of areas, not least because he's asked to fill a number of roles in the team at any given time. It might be gradual in specific areas, but overall he's coming on really impressively in Martin's system. Martin must have been delighted with what he saw in Smallbone, along with Baz. Both of whom have been improving under him.
  18. I find that it's the smart people who agree with any of my opinions. 🙂
  19. Sad news. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
  20. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67477429 MP and mayor take time out from solving pressing issues for a populist quick hit of "Waaah! Club punishment is bad." Not much substance as to why they think it's bad. Or why the club, who all sign up to this, should not face punishment under current rules. Just toys being thrown about to impress Everton supporters. One uses the incoming regulator as a stick to try and pressurise the premier League commission (Everton appeal pending, so a pathetic tactic). A regulator, that truly represented the spirit of football for the support of the game as a whole in communities, would consider relegating them for their blatant attempts to use covid to evade profitability and sustainability. That would really give them something to moan about.
