I had been most concerned with Trippier and St Maximin. Neither of whom were playing. I agree that PL were a shambles allowing them to punt games until after they could sign a few players. But we should have still be capable of getting a win tonight.

With a bit of luck, that means sanctions and their dodgy owners having to sell the club.

We looked to play lots of patient, passing build up, waiting for our opportunity. And in the first half we came back into it and got the goal. But the playbook doesn;t seem to have a page on tall folk, who can head or peel away at set pieces to head across goal. That patient, passing play to get the equaliser didn't really offer much as newcastle dealt with it comfortably as they dropped back. We had no real target man to put balls into. Djenepo looks lively with not long to go. AA also looked lively. But there wasn;t much linking them together to actually create. We did get a few nearly moments to get the equaliser - Liv's cross/shot, adams, Stu at the end. And Adamshit the bar before the break.

commentator does really like Newcastle. Compliments Ryan Fraser for dealing with Armstrong, even though he lost the ball.

We've been playing a bit within ourselves. Lots of safe JWP passes, as we looked for a break (not a complaint). But Armstrong, KWP and towards the end Mo were looking to break into their box.

nearly a Newcastle chance right at the end there. Newcastle seemed a touch more likely in the first few mins, but we've definitely been the better overall.

Give £100/ month to fly in a journalist to listen to Lukaku moan about how he's not played properly, and how he wants away.

Super Armstrong run really needed someone on the end of it.

really good closing down by us all across the pitch there. Took a while for Newcastle's error, but we stuck at it.

Don;t know if the keeper would have got it had it not been for the deflection. Don;t really care. We've come into this one after a quiet opening spell.
