  1. Although it's got worse, he's been like that for such a long time. Only having someone as incoherent as Biden sometimes became was a distraction from the severity of it. No wonder he flails and rails against Harris, infuriated that she can complete a coherent sentence. I watched a televised Biden message regarding Milton. He got through it, but looked even more frail. Harris, who commentators are saying doesn't really have a role in a lot of this, but gets air lifted into everything ahead of the election, had much more energy and was able to interact with responders.
  2. It was only recently that his ex-party chose not to enter into discussions with his party, resulting in the removal of the first minister. That's how much his former party turned on him. There was still ongoing legal action. While he lost the referendum, he emerged as still very popular outside the people who replaced him. Increasingly so, considering the obstacles he overcame to get a vote. And considering the terrible governance that succeeded him.
  3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce81p528ejmo DP World now to attend. Reported that there were lots of discussions at "the highest level" but this article says that didn't include Starmer.
  4. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/10/11/dp-world-halts-1bn-uk-investment-over-po-ferries-row/ Telegraph and some others also keeping Rayner in the frame for her comments. Widely reported shadow comments about them being clueless, the investment uncertainty of having this before a budget, data protection breach by releasing email addresses, Haigh's previous on pay rises and Qatar selling Sainsbury stake citing budget uncertainty.
  5. They could mic up the players, combining that with inscreen data updates from their sports bras. Stephens mic Now I'm centre half. Now get to left back. Now stand and watch someone stay onside. Now make a rubbish tackle. That's never a red, ref you #!*& Stephens 1st in covering all positions in a team Stephens 1st in offensive swear words Stephens 1st in putting off team mates with dodgy positioning
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj9jp3ey0exo Downing Street distancing themselves from cabinet minister's comments. Louise Haigh set to walk the plank?
  7. As @hypochondriac says, they'd clearly worked to make it a key part of the investment announcements. This would have seemed to be a decision Labour would have to make between worker rights of a subsidiary and the investment of the group. It seems the decision had been made to deal with the group. Labour had made the call. That has been undermined by, not just MPs, but by cabinet members. Perhaps they didn't foresee the fall out, wanted the investment and to complain about it, or are just naive ? Perhaps they will come out and say they don't want the investment with that group. Which really could have been dealt with before this stage. Like you say, there's a clear split in the cabinet/ party if one side torpedoes the work done by the other.
  8. It looks as though at least one, much larger, investment due to be announced is now under review. https://news.sky.com/story/blow-to-no-10s-investment-summit-as-port-giant-pulls-1bn-announcement-over-pando-row-13231876
  9. Interviewer: Can you tell us why you were subbed? Saints Player: Aaaaaarrrrgh! Interviewer: Do you think you think you could have played on with your leg at that angle? Saints Player: Aaaaaarrrrgh! Interviewer: Do you mind that interview gets in the way of your treatment? Saints Player: Aaaaaarrrrgh! Interviewer: So, when will you be back? Saints Player: Two weeks.
  10. It's been a very long time since there wasn't an annual release (even before it was FM?). So, I imagine they'll still be looking to get a release out there. They can argue that 6 months on a title is still good value, even if they don't discount it a bit. Considering they're using this as the basis of years to come, getting it right ( without various add on modes) is vital for them.
  11. As you say. Command and control center according to rep on the radio.
  12. Another Nile Ranger cautionary tale https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cgryqewrykjo
  13. I did hear both of them talk about uniting the party. One of them mentioned appealing to the centre, with the other mentioning the breadth of the party. Sort of bolted on to the rest of their comments, and possibly added by an advisor in felt tip after the rest of it was written. I've posted on how disappointing and untrustworthy Starmer's lot have become. So, imagine what I think of Jenrick. Stunned he's anywhere near public office after the property scandal. Leaving Badenoch, who must be loved by the loons on the right of her party, considering some of her comments. Over at Labour, they can now adjust their policies to come in over a longer timescale.
  14. Like spoiled children caught stealing. Entitlement (it's in the rules we fixed! Grifting is the way things are!); diversion (the other kids lie and are crooked too!); Can't see what they did wrong ( I'm paying back some of it...because...something...but I wasn't wrong); further lying (they weren't there! the tickets were for someone else! No pile of freebies changes our mind at all!) So avoidable by any party who actually had an interest in reducing troughing and corruption. Instead, it's just another lot of the same, who can't be trusted to run a tuck shop. Meanwhile, big changes to worker rights...
  15. It must have bothered Starmer. He paid some of the ticket prices back. Can't imagine why he'd do that if it was considered to be so normal.
  16. I'm not exactly jumping with joy at some gotcha moments against labour. It's more another cycle of disappointment at seeing yet another group of entitled troughers.
  17. Sky showing the devestation...of hurricanes from previous decades. Just the saturation of 24/7 news channels.
  18. Did anyone go to the Taylor Swift concerts, who wasn't a politician on a freebie? Home secretary attends as husband (Ed Balls) gets 4 tickets, so she doesn't have to directly declare them. She would later push for the increased security demanded by Swift's management. Scotland Yard reluctant to give that level of security, based on intelligence. The papers indicating they were persuaded, following discussions with Cooper. After Vienna, I can see why Swift's team would look for security increases. I can see why politicians would want to endear themselves to the Swift bandwagon. However, whatever the separate security and intelligence available now has a needless smell of collusion around it, because politicians can't keep clear of freebies. Swift tickets were among some of Starmer's selected repayments.
  19. The game wound down after the 4th. VA will hopefully use this as fuel for better performances going forward. Second best on the night.
  20. 4-1 Caught on the counter. VA well beaten on what I've seen this half. Outplayed, outfought with some defensive madness for good measure.
  21. Another dither at the back nearly lets Orleans in again. Booking given for taking out their player before that happened.
  22. 3-1 with VA conceding another penalty (looked a bit soft). The move caught VA upfield a bit, as Orleans happy to lower the pace. VA with a speculative effort and a header that was easily dealt with.
  23. Opening minute and a massive lack of decision making between keeper and defender let's them through. That and a shot a few seconds later and could well have been 3-1
  24. Nice one touch passing move gets a corner. Nothing from it and that's the break.
