Very true... when you see how he has dedicated himself to getting as fit as he can, obviously listened to the coaches and NIge, see how he is happy evne when he does not score as his contribution is so valuable, it shoes he is a top top bloke. Given he is 30, I relaly hop he gets his chance in the prem next season - this type of player has paid his dues, worked hard and deserves a shot and the bigger money far more than the prima donnas we see the 'big clubs' invest in... This squad has shown that benefits that unity can have, being even better than the sum of its parts - they and Adkins deserve teh success becaiuse they they seem to work harder, no whinging, and get on with it when things dont go so well. Proud of all of them!

CLaridge is a pompey fan - but one who is a proper football fan IMHO, so is probably sick to death of the way his club has been run, gained advantage, and then not learned from the mistakes - he said as much during the program. He is complementary of us when we play well enough to deserve it and critical when we dont - but seems almost envious (in a positive way) when looking at how we did all we could to rectify our financial wows in the right way, whereas pompey seemed to ignore the issue - think he mentions that tehy still ahve not paid anything from the last admin and went ahead spening on prem qulaity players - think he is very frustrated that he cant feel proud of them right now... and fair play to him for that. If more of their fans felt that way rather than whinging and moaning that its all someone else fault, that they need loans etc, then maybe they might have had some sympathy from me... as it is they can rot..

I thihnk the 7mil is the TOTAL HMRC are owed (approx 2mil from the last few months + approx 5mil from the last CVA) - media have simply added the two so Pompeys debts need to be reduced by 5mil otherwise you are counting this debt in the 16mil VCVA twice... would be my reckoning anyway

We all have em... I can remeber a while back when someone asked Kylie if she fancied a night of rigourous animalistic sex with Frank's cousin, to which she replied 'I should be so lucky'

That will be the 'football league reveal they were misled about Antonov' rubbish... can see the FL desperately trying to finf a way of 'helping them out as tehy crumble in panic that public opinion is against them on this...because 'plicky pompey' dont deserve it.... nothing would surprize me now... and the fL granting loans and no points deductions would seem normal given how they seem to have bent over and taken the pompey cock for quite some time....

... so Mr Appleton simply do the Maths - 1 player on 20k a week or 2 on 10k a week or 4 on 5k a week? Or even given teh size of your revenue may I suggest 3 players on 3k a week? Like the clubs that are trying to maintain a sensible financial structure? ...Oh sorry, missed the transfer window? missed the last 8 transfer windows when something could have been done to prevent this situation? ... (NB. think Apleton is an OK guy and its not his fault, but by entering the public debate on this - he becomes fair game. If he had said publically, ''FFS, I told those idiotic ****s in the board room that I dont need 1 player on 20k... I need 5 players on 3k...NOW, but would the feckers listen? No, which is why its easy to see why we are ins uch a fecking mess'' ) RE Stevie Grant's point - problem with doing due diligence etc is that its impossible to predict everything and so if you sell a player to club the defaults, it potentially leads to you defaultig on your own schems... thus a blanket ban on deferred payments is the only way really - yes it might cause issues with so called triggered payments such appearences, caps etc... but then it would as a result almost certyainly see transfer fees come down to more realistic and sustainable levels?
-
''Good... sick an tired of pavement pizza, shouting and screeming in the street, brawls, drunken ****s in the streets... is this really what we want from out glorious nation'' Avid reader of the Mail Seriously, lack of cheap booze wont stop the 'ugly city nightlife' - the hoards of drunken, arseholes, slappers and vomit, but it might reduce the frequency simply through reducing the means. NOt sure what the answer is to addressing the booze culture of Britain - most too stupid to be educated. However, removing the ability of the super markets to supply booze as loss leaders - might just might save some pubs from going out of business which is a good thing.

Top Post - and totally agree - problem is it need sto be driven at FIFA/UEFA level not just country specific, otherwise the top clubs would be bleating that they miss out on top European/international transfers - top intelligent and effective ideas... so unliekly to be adopted by the ignorant, ineffective governing bodies. In addition could see agents fighting this bleating on about players stuck in contracts blah blah etc, as more difficult to shift if clubs have to pay up front... would se more players moving for free at end of contract?

Dune, do you lack self awareness? Patriotism is great, This country is great. Have you ever truely considered why? Because we have a rule of law and freedoms that were fought for. Law and freedoms that demonstrate we are a civilised and mature society, granting freredom of speech to complete dickheads like the EDL, no matter what biggotted spiteful drivel they spout, and a rule of law that despite perhaps not being perfect is nonetheless mature enough accept that you cant have it both ways - and keep people locked up indefinitely or extradite them in circumstances where a fair and due process is unlikely.... no matter what the crime or how spiteful the beliefs. Its this sort of thing that despite having to put up with the tiny minority or extremists (EDL and nutters who pretend to be following their religion) is what is truely great about Britain.

As I understand it they may struggle to get a second CVA - think about for a second.... in theory, (as I understand it) Pompey do NOT owe chinney anything - CSI owe chinney 17 mil for their purchase of the club - and as a secure creditor of CSI with a charge over the pompey 'asset' he is due the first 17 mil that CSI raise from any sales etc. But pompey owe CSI 10.8, The current CVA 16mil, HMRC say 2mil, footballing creditors 2 mil (wages and Aussies), other footballing creditors we dont know about + Gaydmark... am I wrong with this... have I missed something? Why is everuone insisting pompey owe chinney 17mil am I being dense? Without that 17 mil owed to chinney, it would be easy to see HMRC and Baker tilley refusing to accept 20p in the £ - thus even if teh golden share was transfered ..again.. to 'pompey newCheating ****s 2012' they would still in effect exist admin without a CVA - huge points deduction to follow.... Thats if someone would by them... Problem is chinney's control of CSI and charge on pompey.... they might be worth a punt to some stupid fecker for a £1 the usual price for a club in admin and with around 25mil of debt - but chinney wants stupid millions... or if a CVA is agreed so debt reduced to around 10 mil with 16 mil PP guarranteed, can see CHinney selling again for a £17m...deferred , but retaining a charge on the club until its paid out over the next 2 years... see there is a logical and cheating bastard way out of this ... and its quite possible that tehy would only get 10 points if CVA is agreed, even with say 15, they could still survive the drop....

Jeez Corps - sorry did not mention the cup... as you are clearly incapable of understaning one of two key fundementals about ethics and morals from teh previous administration, lets focus on your current predicament - I repeat, how do you feel about the fact that the 'fault' has allowed you to currently be fie;ding a side that you cant afford? NOW, not historically, but now? How do you feel about the club getting money from the PL in advnace to try and fund this side? IS this in your opinion an unfair competitive advantge when you compare and contrast the likes of Coventry who are down to skin and bones? Forget going on about the friggin FA/FL 'approving' your financial management' - afterall, I though they were not to be trusted anyway given how they have failed you so bady with their FPPT? This has feck all to do with what the FL/FA are doing, but with your opinion on the the ethics of it... are you currently getting a footballing advantage over other clubs who are trying to run within their means? Do you think its right to get a bale out? Do you think it was right to run teh finance based on 'cash investment' from CSI - with no plan B? (or plan B being not paying tax, not paying other clubs, not paying wages, knowing the FL would panic and a few qud in parachutes would be on its way... that you said had been 'ringfenced for the CVA?' Make you feckin mind up...jesus....
-
So Corps.... you have spent a vast amount of time trying the challenge everythjing that is said... but where is your opinion? Come on given EVERYTHING you say you know, given teh fact that there can be NO doubt that the way teh finances have been run HAS given you several periods in which you have had competitive advantage despite no solid plan in place for long term servicing of that expenditure, have done this several times in the last few years, still have huge debts CVA. new debts etc... no we have seen you try and blame everyone but teh club, and say its all the owners fault so its all the FAs fault, balah blah... when whoever's 'fault it is is actually irrelevent IF as has been the case with pompey, that 'fault' sees players on the pitch that without the 'fault' would not be there... call that what you like.... so with all this knowledge, what do you want to see happen now... surely it should be a pheonix as its the ONLY to be completely rid of these dastardly owners who have screwed you so badly, (but importantly allowed you to carry on playing experienced and expensive pros rather than kids)... surely anything else would be acknowledging that you are happy to 'blame' teh dodgy ownetrs, whilst accepting 'friuits' of their leadership? You cant ahve it both ways - and that is teh problem with most of your fans - you are now all as one saying the owners are at fault and very bad people, yet dont seem to be prepared to accept that with out them, with someone ethical and serious, you would have been relegated along tiem ago... as sales and playing kids in an effort to reduce debt IS the only logical, ethical and moral way to go....

'money syphoned off' - cops/PFC you both mention this... but given that this would be likely classified as fraud, could you explain how you come to tehse conclusions - I suspect that this cash is the wages - 20 players on a basic average of 30k is 20 x 1.5 mil a year = 30mil - add that some were on more and indeed some will have been on 'net' contracts with the club paying NI and Income tax (when they did), woin bonues, goal bonuses and its easy to see what can happen in just 1 year... but if you are sure that 'money was siphoned off' please let the police know as I am sure they would be interested - otherwise the accounts would show legal, director bonuses etc... Given that when Harry was at West Ham, it is on record that West ham paid close to 3 mil for a scandinavian player and that the selling club got exactly 800,000k... with 2 mil ending up in an account in Switzerland never to be seen again, its not beyond the realms of possibilty that the agent fees etc are much much higher than the 10% or so you imagine. I suspect and you know it that those transfer figures showing a 75mil of sales = diddly sqyuat when all the other deals are factored in... yet some of you still feel Storries and Redknapp are harshly criticised....
-
Nope not right - does not factor in the payments out in paying off sold player contracts - which can neutralise any 'gross profit' - sell a player for 2 mil who has 12 months left of a 30k a week contract and he is due 1.5 mil of that- add in agent fees and bonus payments due and some of these can leave the club with a loss - the only gain is a wage reduction... which for pompey did not seem to work as you kept signing more players, easy to see why who were already 38mil in debt by dec of the cup win season... and this just kept grpowing and growing and growing..... your figures only show gross difefrence between tansfer fes paid and received - your transfer fees paid do not include agent fees or signing on fees... which is another matter.

Personally I think its natural that expectatiosn would change during the course of season depending on how we were doing - its impossible to tell at outset how 'ready' the so called favourites would be, and as we see now, teh pre season favourites have in most cases got their act together which coincides with our more challenging period. I know there are plenty of folk who see everything very black and white, and for whom if we miss out this year it the end of the world. On teh flip side there are those that are happy with consolidation and vstill very happy that despite the slump we are still second.... But, lets think about this for a moment - this is football, a sport - and we all know that despite the 'ideals' of taking part and giving it your all, teh reality is that success has to be earned, through graft, graft, and more graft - add to this teh need to maintain a positive menatl attitude, teh drive and determination to succeed etc... so for me, whilst I am hapy with where we are, and despite the fact that base on pragmatism, the squad and Nige have already performed marvels, now is NOT the time to accept second best - wherever we end up come season end, I believe the side will deserve our applause...at season end... but right now they need the drive and determination and graft to pick up the pace and fight for it until they drop. Do that and this sqaud is good enough for top 2 - so the reality is that anything less will be dissapointing... because they have shown what they CAN do. If we dont go up this season, I suspect we will next, simply because this squad will probably stay together and have grown as a unit - that said it would be a waste when you think that we could and in my opinion should do it this year. BUT, we should not be 'worried by results' liek a bunch of girls, but be positive and show OUR CONFIDENCE that this squad is good, and will do it - get behind them all the way to May whatever the results andstop all this girly misery.
-
Sorry but have to disagree. They committed the club to contracts in excess of what the annual revenue could sustain without Mandrich's cash. He then chose to sell to someone with a dodgy background/father without bothering to care what that might mean if the new owners no longer injected teh cap[itial necessary to sustain those contracts - and teh new owners contined to blow more loans and cash... Responsibilty INCLUDES not doing something that could jepodise the future of the club... It why we feel comfortable with our situation as a) we have not gone mad with the check book, b) although 2011 accounts not yet availble, I suspect we will be close to operating within our means despite what Corps thinks and c) The ethicxal way Marcus Liebherr and Nicola Cortese do business would preclude selling without due diligence - I feel very comfortable saying that as their background has always been about intregity.

Hi Weston....I'll give it a go! For me its not that I hate him as a person... afterall I dont know him, so make a judgement on that. However, the way he maipulates the media, (his 'i'm just stupid guv, cant write or whatever' court room diatribe was enough to make me puke...the fact that there are people out tehre stupid enough to be taken in by it is another matter), is cringeworthy - he is good copy which is why the media flatter him, knowing he is as tehy say up here a good 'rentagub'... But for me its the fact that he represents so much that is wrong with the game right now...yet does not even have the balls to acknowldge it... (maybe he lacks the self awareness or is really that stupid) - buy that I mean: He has indeed benefitted from the transfer system, albeit within teh legal allowances - yet is it ethicakl or moral and what does it say about the game. 'Broken Dreams' (sorry 'arrow' was that film) revealed the extent of the shear volume of transfers in and out of clubs he has been at, transfers where for the most part the players never made a 1st team appearance - including the classic Swedish player for whom WHU paid over 3 million for, yet the selling club got around 800k - and the rest where did it go? It may be legal, but is right? - the relationships he has with agents etc... is that right? Then he has the barefaced cheek to suggest in the media that Spurs dont do what they do at the top clubs with huge spending - well..how does taht sit with the relative spending at West Ham or Porstmouth or even Spurs - now Spurs may not be in the 30mil+ for one player league, but it seems for 'arry its mpore about numbers of players in and out. Also he says that for him its about coaching and spending - well why teh Feck did he moan then when he came to us and had the transfer purse shut? That squad was NOT in the relagtion zone when he took over with 20 games to go and was easily not the worst - it should have been good enough to survive yet he just bad mouthed them in media 'not good enough' - when confidence and form was the problem, not the quality - and yet the majority of teh media and neutral fans still want him for the England job? Seriously, Yes Spurs are doing good, but look at the resurces and the fact that Bale has come on etc... he forgets that its not jsut avout buying players that are worth 40mil, but being able to hold on to them - but as we saw he likes to get in first and tell the media he will be off if his best players are sold... Just beacuse we have a policy in this country of allowing managers to benefit financially from transfers, profits or otherwise, does mean they should do it if they want to be taken seriously... and that whinging 'cant text' nonsense...really was cringeworthy and enbarrassing...
