  1. Result = dissapointing Negative emotive reaction from some fans = expected Its pretty ironic when so many have mentioned confidence as an issue, when those very fans are lacking it right now. It should have been obvious to all and sundry that in this league we were going to be up against it - we have only just been promoted from L1 - and there are teams with bigger budgets and experience of the 'miserable winter', and the BIg Sam hood and 1-0 approach, that our desire to pass teh ball was always going to struggle against if our creative midfield was disrupted or off form. Add to that injuries and suspensions and some of you seem to be bottling it. We started way beyond expectations and lets be honest that was in part because so amny around us started poorly - they have now caught up and the best sides are playing to tehir potential, whilst we have hit a sticky patch (in part through injuries to KEY players) but also because it was never going to be as easy as teh early results suggested. We can analyse, criticise and be generally all doom and gloom and lose our bottle - which is an option some seem to want to take (for whatever reason) or we can look at the table, look at the squad and come to a more pragmatic (and realistic) conclusion, namely we have a GOOD squad - OK not all are the same standard, but for the Cahmpionship they have proven they CAN live with teh best...when on form and with the best 11. Now is not teh time for being pussies, but a time for the support to ENCOURAGE, BELIEVE and make our contribution to the CONFIDENCE - as much as defeat hurts, as much as defeats may cause worry, choice is simple, give up now as some seem happy to do (as it will validate their pre-season doom and gloom predictions) or show some balls, recognise that our great start has mmeant that despite the recent slump we are still top 2, have added Sharp and AL seems to finding his form, Chappers back, Ricky still firing and CAN do it. Sure we need to get cracking and yes we need some luck, but we also need support that is positive, behind the team, no matter what twists and turns there are still to come. BELIEVE.
  2. OK... in simple terms 1. The figures quoted to date are for 2010 - which include the 12/13 mil Markus paid for the club clearing its debts - approx 1.5 on infrasttructure refurbs and around 5mil on transfers and operating cost support. 2. If the club were sold 13 mil would come off that as a return of the original loan in effect the net debt if sold at end of 2010 would have been around 5mil with assets of players, ground, training ground and Jacksons farm - estimated conservatively around say 25mil - so no issue there 3. We do not yet have the figures for 2011, but given the increase in revenues, the income from player sales (12mil), increase in TV reveue and commercial sponsorship (aap3) etc, I would hazzard a guess that the figure reamins at around 20 mil all owed to the Liebherr estate, and that we are running very close to 'within our means', certainly not reckless, certainly not stupid, certainly within a sensible business framework. 4. If the Leibherr's pulled out tomorrow, what would the prospectus show? Purchase price? 20-25 mil (lets assume) Liabilities - range between 0 and 5 mil dpending on whetrher the Leibherrs want to take a profit or not Assets - players approx 4-8 mil, ground and stadium 5 mil, staplewood and training centre? Jacksons Farm? Well run club living within its means, pushing for promotion to the premier league Now, even with all that we know how hard it is ti find a decent buyer/investor... yet i would suggest that we would be in a far better position than most, and that because we have have a serious ethical business leadership, we might find it a tad easier... afterall, teh only incvest needed is the purchase price, no significant debt and no increasng liabilites as a result of ridiculous player contracts..... so I suggest we would be fine. Maybe not as lucky as we are now as we know ML left provision for if we are promoted to teh PL and further investment is likely, but I would say we woudl not be in any diffficulties as we dont rely on major annual injection of funds to keep on an even keel... NC would simply not allow it.
  3. THis is the MOST annoying aspect of the whole sage that anyone connected to the club fails to understand time and time again. IT IS teh club who have got tehmeselves in this mess, by agreeing to contracts and signing players that were ONLY susptainable from a third party - a third party who they KNEW did not have a huge amount of liquidity, otherwise they would have paid chinney in full when they bought the club and been rid of at least one of the characters they now like to hate. NO ONE forced the club to make those contracts in an effort to try and gain a footballing competitive advnatage, THEY CHOSE to. The clubs directors (not owners) made those contracts knowing exactly the background to CSI and its owners. It is encumbant on teh directors of any business to do due diligence on the sources of any funding before making such committments. The ignorance and stupidity of teh cpouncil, that MP and the club's directors and fans and media who lap it up as part of the 'poor old plucky pompey' sheidt we are inundated with is breathtaking. Jeez... This is a football club, that borrowed money from its owners tio buy a competitive advantage, thus entering big contracts - the owners stop giving them cash on account of their own admin and suddenly we are meant to feel sorry for them? after walkinga way only 2 years ago from 100mil of debt? WTF.... Yes Corps, if you look at our figures, Liebherr (RIP) placed the monies for the purchase (clearing the debts to an agreed amount with the 2 creditors) on the books of the club as a loan to be repaid in not less than 5 years. BUT and its a big but, where we differ is in a) that the source of this cash is totaly transparent, b) it was used to clear the debt, and c) the investment was in part in infrastructure d) since then there has been a fair bit or revenue in in terms of sales - e) there is a robust and ethical business plan in place...
  4. Indeed, and I am sure there would be some mad takers at a pound + taking on the debt, but its the level of cash Chinny wants that is likely to scupper any deal. In effect the ONLY security he has right now is Portpin's charge on the land on which the rust bucket sits which is worth around 3-5mil WITH development rights, without them probably alot less. Seriously, I think the best way forward is to get rid of chinney one way or another - even if it meant ground sharing somewhere, folllowing admin to get the club independent again, taking the penalties, using teh paracute money to survive until the summer, getting rid of the big earners and then renegotiating a better CVA that will give more back (so they agree) to the creditors but over a longer period and having a senisible well manged financial policy that begins repayments NOW. delaying repayment on the CVA always results in some chancer spending on contracts now that would not be sustainable once repayments kick in on the off chance of promotion and thus ending in the same mess again. NOt only would this rid you of chinney and gaydamrk, in that tehir land ownership becomes irrelevent, but we could all watch the council put their moeny where their (vote winning) mouth is and find you a new place to play. And as for worying aboout the history and legacy of FP? I would have thought removing the stain of the recent history of the dodgy shenanigans revolvong around that rust bucket, would be a prioce worth paying to get Chinney and Gaydamark out teh picture once and for all.
  5. If true, Bottles and coin throwing - out of order - only complete dicks do this whoever it is Twitter warriors - kids being pathetic to - abuse is easy to give out from behind a keyboard as he says Henderson article in general - total ****e - desperate to try and demonstarte loyalty after being allegedly exposed as not going to teh tractor biys because wage demands too high .... also not sure this tie needs players cranking up the hype - irresponible and selfish of him to be honest.
  6. Thing is he 'said' something racist... and even though I cant stand the bloke, I dont think he actually is - I do think he is a) very thick generally, which is why he feels he can say thsoe things without it meaning he IS racist, b) he is very thick and ignorant of the offence that it can cause, c) he is so thick that he forgets the 40 cameras on him and what thsi will do for his public imgae.... So my conclusion is that he is simply extyremely thick - and certainly too thick to captain the country.
  7. Think the argument rests on the fact that it is the intereste of ALL the creditors to ensure the club remains in business and thus eventually begins paying out on the CVA - if the football creditors are not paid in full, the club is in breech of the rules and has its golden share withdrawn, which would mean effectively liquidation - and thus most creditors would get feck all - in effect, its the creditors that control the situation - As I understand it, the Football creditors rule is only a rule of the competition/FL. There is no LEGAL/law that says it must happen, but creditors will mostly support it is it means more chance of getting something. The club will be desperate for creditors not to challenge it for obvious reasons. ...so how come Swindon eventually settled a cVA after 8 year with no sanctions....? simple because the creditors agreed to it. Had they not, then massive points deductions.... and now we have AA potentially doing the same again at the cheating c***s down the road.... I predict that the creditors of the current CVA will see no more than around 2p over 10 years - the parachute monies will be advanced and used to keep the thing afloat and they WILL get away with it... at least for the forseable or unless enough of the creditors refuse to accept any changes to the conditions of the CVA - which as many are local businesses, who probably have owwners who are 'fans' wont happen. So Corpse, Tell me this - after mouthing off every 3rd page that the CVA payments will be met by teh parachute money, what will you think of your club if as with Swindon, AA manages to 'string it out and eventually the creditors see cloase to feck all? still say you are not cheats? still be proud of your cup win?
  8. Still think its sad that any club is only ever judged by the 'worst' of its fans - same as we are elsewhere - the Ted Bates booing was about 2 or 3 idiots out of around 3000, amde worse by the Saints fans then booing teh pompey idiots..and the whistle went. Those things , whilst always emotive, are sadly a part of life, ideiots are everywhere and Portsmouth does not have a monopoly on them. As mentioned before, for me its more that they illustrate ALL that is wrong with football, and made worse by the fact they 'never learn'. They have forgoten (as indeed does the RH Penny) that teh 'dodgy' is not just aout arms dealers and fake sheiks, but about gainiing league status and cup success by building a debt mountain that was always going to be unsustainable... and no one was complaining about such dodgy owners when at at Wembley. I know some genuine fans that gave up tehir STs several years back, as they became disillusioned with the shameful way their club was behaving. I do feel sorry for them. They were in the crowd that day the Ted was booed and have told me they were ashamed of the arseholes who caused that simply did not get it. They had alledgedly 200,000 'fans' celebrating their cup win, a tenner each and the tax man is paid with some to spare... let them keep teh club alive if they really want it. Let them apologiose for the cheating, let them give the cup back, let them say they will pay the charities, and I would bung the phonix a tenner and wish them good luck.... but I dont see them frantically recallibrating the radar at Eastliegh air traffic control for to ID aerial porcine objects any time soon....
  9. The worst is that ****e reply you got from that MP (WHO MUST BE COMPLETELY IGNORANT....) what they dont seem to get is that NO ONE was worried or blaming the 'succession of dodgy owners' when they were winning the cup and in the top half of the premiership, with a squad build on the debt that has caused their mess... the first time round.... this time they were simply adding to it having gotten away with it once... they simply do not get the fact that if they currently had the squad that their revenue and debt burden demands, they would be rooted to the bottom, but at least they would have some moral high ground, playing kids to ensure they got their club back on an even keel and paid off their creditors is what they should have been doing for the last 2 seasons, whatever the consequences on teh field - tehn and only then would they have had my sympathy even with the rivalry - afterall we have been there. That Penny women and her mate Dave should shut teh feck up about something they know feck all about. typical sleazy politicos jumping on a populist bandwagon... makes me sick that pompey have bveen playing the 'sympathy card' in all this for so long... no wonder Redflaps fitted in so well there - made in the same mould - laughing at the public with the media seemingly so in love with their 'plucky', and roguish persona - bunch of ****s
  10. NOthing surprizing in that really - most would say that racism is the result of ignorance (which is usually due to either lack of education or lack of IQ) and the hate that follows is usually the result of kids being brought up in such an environment. Its a bit tenuous to then link conservative views to low IQ, even I fnd that an over simplification. there are many 'intelligent tories' ;-) ...although judging y some of those neo-christian-right wing nutters in the USA its hard to tell... It would be very difficult to establish any kind of link between IQ and a lack of social compassion. Think you would find many that are thick as mince from all political slants. There are afterall evoloutionary selective pressures for both conservatism and self interest, as there are for a more social/compassionate position in the environment.
  11. What is needed though is a proper scale that means - if your benefits total say 30k - and you are offered a job that pays 15k you should should HAVE to take it but in the knowledge that you DONT lose all your benefits - eg your benefits drop to 15k as well giving you an incentive to get back to work. The ticky issue with this though is quite rightly, that there are plenty of folk out there earning 15k who dont get any benefits apart from Child allowance, and tax credits. There is no fair system unless you set a regional minimum expected income based on your number of kids and circumstances - and then you HAVE to take a job that is available and offered and you are 'topped' up with benefit to that level... even this is not totally fair - I could argue taht having paid in continuously for nearly 20 years, I should get something if I was made redundant, more than just 60 quid a week job seekers - afterall, I would get housing benefit if renting, yet get feck all because I have a mortgage... how does any Government balance the needs of those who genuinely, through no fault of their own have no economic benefit in working (in fact are potentially far worse off) and encourage them back to work, versus the the needs of thsoe who have never taken anything out, yet get feck all if circumstances suddenly change... should I be forced to sell up etc, whilst others would get housing benefit to allow them to stay in their rented home? Is this fair? I dont have the answer and as I lean to a more socially aware politic, I do not think its as easy as simply capping or removing benefits - it just further disengages with those who need the most motivation and are all ready potentailly in a social 'underclass'. The sysytem needs to reward those that actively look and accept work, without drastically reducing their income, at the same time, penalising those who are simply too idle and wont. In addition, like in Germany, there should be a unemployment benefit level taht is based on your last income and how much/years you have paid into the system - they have something like 80% of slaary for 3 months and a slowly reducing scale regardless of what your partner earns - thus you will need to cut out luxuries as expected, but wont be staring down the repocession nightmare within a realistic timeframe of finding a new job with a salary that will allow you to stay put and not uproot the family etc... just seems fairer to me.
  12. Very true, as Adkins would say , we win, draw or lose as a team. The best teams can compensate when a player is struggling for form or has a bad game. Its easy to forget Connolly's goals at the start of the season that helped get us off to a flyer, which may proove very decisve in the end. NOt all players will make a contribution consistently throughout the season. What's important is that the Team puts in a consistent shift. Think last night whilst dissapointing not to go on and win, will do teh confidence no end of good - with more to come from Lee, Sharp available for Brum and chapper to come back, coupled with the Adkins hitting the 'refresh' button, we are in good shape. If these players want it badly enough, can stay fit, there is no reason why we cant get one of the autos. Brum look like being this year's Hudders, so we need to get something from Saturady - will be OK with a point, but a win would be brilliant. COYRs we can do this!
  13. Right going for a lucky Cig - I expect us to have scored when I get back
  14. That's what that Corpse always fails to understand - he thinks we are bitter about our local rivals winning a trophy - NO, If they were simply a well run club that had invested soundly and this had led to success, I would be bitter and twisted for sure like any Saint would be - but its the fact that by buying that side and paying stupid wages without a long term secured plan in place to mange the debt that created... to continue to dig deeper into debt and end up avoiding paying for it ((not a penny to date)) - without so much as slapped wrist from the FL, continue to play a squad beyond their means, whilst teh FL know full well that if they let them go down, it effects the integrity of the league.... whilst we played kids to try and avoid it and in doing so were doomed to L1 and with -10 and they were laughing - thats why I no longer have any sympathy for them... because I know that some how they will probably get away with it again - so the FL can avoid losing face - The FL have shown themselves to be just as bad as Portsmouth in all this... total lack of sporting integrity.
  15. AA is in fact doing what is right for CSI - he needs pompey to stay alive so that they can pay back the 10.8 mil - they go bust or ADMIN and a CVA will give CSI about 5p in the pound LOLage - AA on on the other side for once.....
  16. Problem is.... most deals will have payments pread so finding clubs willing tio part with casj up front is unlikely - which is why tehy may need to sell younger players cheap hoping to get cash up front...
  17. A couple - as sooo many... but Early one morning teh sun was shining I was layin' in bed Wondered if she had changed at all if her hair was still red Folks they said our life together sure was goin; tobe tough they never did like mamma's home made dress Papa's bank book wasn't big enough... ..like two passing ships, the spaces in between... leaves room... for you and I to grow and the pump dont work, cos the vandals took the handles
  18. NOt sure you actually lose a record that is ours? - think positive in that we have SET so many over the last 18 months ! :-)
  19. I pledge £10 - however, as I have my own needs which are far more important I shal only give them 20p in the £ so £2 it is. However, despite being a bit skint at the moment and having recently bought a new car, and booked my holiday, and having to borrow money to do so from some guys I met in a pub with strange accents who also took the deeds to the house as collateral, I cant hand over this cash now, but will pay them 50p a year for 4 years starting in ...er well its possible in April if I get my bonus, but I may need to delay this again at some point depending on whether the blokes with fiunny accents need me to pay them first.... sound fair? Unfortunately I am a PAYE so my tax and NI is up to date so dont have a saving's account into which I would have put the tax mans money to pay the 50p now or even pay some back to the blokes with accents.
  20. Sorry, meant 'ringfenced' in inverted commas as this is the line provided by Corps in defence of the zero payment to date and how as a fine upstanding Pompey NewCo they will ensure everything is done right by their creditors... or not. The FA/FL rules are a shambles - they are designed to punish, but both orgs will do everything possible to allow clubs to worm their way out if possible - simply due to the fact that its tehir own rules that have led to the development of the debt mountain in the first place - their cowering to the pressures of the the Premier league and its 'brand' - thus allowing clubs to in effect dictate the lack of financial regulation and a fair playing field - Pompey have cheated its clear to all, possibly even those at the FL, but as others have said, because its their 'rules' that allowed them to get in this situation, (and has allowed so many others to do exactly the same - albeit currently servicing their debt) they are happier burying their heads and hoping it will go away, rather than tackling this embarrassing issue... the question have is how come their decision (the right one in the end) to punish us for out admin was done very quickly - I can only presume this is because our books were in top notch order and was thus easy to see how our problems arose. Pompey with their complex convoluted ownership and charge, debt, creditors from previous admin, must be a nightmare - ad sadly they look to be taking the easier route which is 'take one look and run away' - way too scary for them...
  21. As I understand it If thjey are given an advance on tehir final 16mil (2 x 8m ) parachute payments that were 'ringfenced' for the previous CVA of approx 17mil...(all no secured creditors), and this money is used now to pay the currrent scureed footballing creditors + teh first installmet of teh CVA - they are for now, home and dry.... however this then leaves them witha potential hole in servicing the reaminder of the CVA when its due - which if they fail to do will result in a BIG points deduction... however, if granted an advance on the final parachute payments, I guess there is nothing to stop them using some of this to buy in more players.... as we have seen them do time and time again - buy in more pay bigger wages whilst owing unsecureed creditors 17mil + the charities etc... on the hope they might get promoted and its all forgotten.... who knows... but if they are allowed an advance and it does not ALL go to meet the CVA... and nothing happens it would really highlight all that is wrong with their rotten club, the FL and FA.... ...Trouble is, football is so emotive, so ingrained in fans culture that most neutral fans 'want to help' because they know their own clubs might need it too one day, becasue of so much debt in the pursuit of glory - and teh media reflect this as well with 'poor, plucky pompey' stories - why tehy cant even bring tehmselves to fully investigate dodgy things - remember Tom Bowers book? had a whole chapter on Redknapp asking some very serious questions - expected the media to be all over it... but there is simply not the appettite for it within the game..too much money, too much greed and built on debts - thanks a bunch Murdoch you ....
  22. ... oh weel will try and be as 'balanced as possible' appologies if not successful. What have we learned from teh last 7 games or so? I mean what has it really told us? Last nigtht for me said one thing for certain - we do not have what it takes when 4 key players (Fonte, Lambert, Lallana, chaplow) are not available - we are not the same team. However, what worried me most about last night was not the above (no team is the same without 4 key players), but the fact that especially in the first half we seemed to be second to every ball - Leicester pressed high up the pitch which threw us off our stride, but worryingly they seemed to want it more. TBF though its can be quite a normal thing that when your talismanic players are all sidelined, it effects confidence and possible even desire - so this tehn becomes a test for Nigel, and yes right now he 'looks' like he is struggling for how to impact on this. However, I am nOT going to slate him for that, because If we want a young manager, who is new to this experience but who will be with us for teh long term, we need to accept the fact that its a learning process - as it was for Lawrie when we were relegated back in teh day - we stuck by him as he grew in stature. That is what we need to do now... maybe its symptomatic of the younger 'Iwant it now' generation, that patience is easily lost, but IMHO, its waht we need - We are ahead of the curve, have shown that with a fully fit squad we are a force in this division, but not without it. I can't understand those that seem to rejoice in being able to slag NIgel or Cortese becase of a bad patch - cruscial injuries and a dodgy suspension - yes it could be argued that we might cope better if we 'buy-in' some more expensive talent - but we wer TOLD right at the start that plan is about young talent that we can mould into the Southampton way... so we are not doing a West Ham or Leicester. Seems obvious to anyone that those who seem to cream their pants that they can slag off Cortese or NIge, either dont get it, or have 'issues/agendas' they are not prepared to elaborate on. So far NIge has done everything he can within his curernt experience and with teh squad he has available - ad to that he is learning all the time and it should eb clear to ALL that he deserves our support and patience Cortese is working on bringing in quality - but we wont be held to ransome and we wont panic buy or spend stupid moeny on players for are demanding more than we are willing to pay - if you don't like that approach then thats you choice, but you may as well accept it as it wont change. Happy Clappy? NO, we were **** last night, but I happen to believe that we were **** last night because of a number of things that I can understand, rather than that we dont have the right people in place - Sometimes I wonder about the fans though, booing the lads off at half time...
  23. Thing is this is actually the real issue and the reason why so many Fans hate them - because they were not complaining about their owners who were for whatever reason allowing them to spend - to slowly increase the det that gave them a squad capable of staying in the PL and winning the Cup... at that time they were already 38mil in the hole - (without adding any Tax liabilties that we did not know about at the time) and not spent on something sensible like decent facilities for teh fans or an academy or traing ground or towards a new stadium, but directly on gaining a footballing advantage... and now this chump has the cheak to say its time someone stepped in? Well if someone stepped in to control owners and finances when they should have done, they would not have achieved what they did... you cant have it both ways....
  24. But there should be NO debate, That is the point. Whatever the argument between Cortese and Puncheon is, WE DO NOT KNOW any facts, and if we did then everyone would be entitles to an opinion, take sides or whatever..... BUT that is NOT the issue here, its a completely seperate one. This is about an employee criticing his employer and its customers publically. As with any business or employer/employee relationship, ifr there is a grievence, then the propoer procedures need to be applied. NOt a public airing of your moaning about it - I can guarrantee that most if not all of you working out there will have a clause in our contracts of employment that make such public criticisms a reach of contract and a disciplinary/if not summary dismissal offence. The only reason I guess why he would not e acked in football is because of the 'trade' value players have when we own his registration. The two issues are SEPERATE and as such when it comes to him mouthing off on twitter, there is no 'balance' necessary - its is simply wrong of him to do so. The fact the club have NOT commented publically, thus acting professionally is all the 'balance' this issues needs. It may be that some dont agree with Cortese on the reasons for teh falling out - fair enough, but that is not the issue here and Puncheon should know that.
