Feck me, a decent honest bulshyt free communication with fans from someone who certainly sounds like he knows what he is doing....but just who is this mystery 'several hundred million' man? Interesting and hopefully good times ahead.

Jeez what are you on - if you dont take pleasure from, be more attentive in editing your posts so they dont come across that way. Cheap points? WTF its not about cheap points, its about being critical of the impression you give - look at the medical condition coment if you want to see on of those (or dont you do irony) I Have nothing to be bitter and blinkered about - football is football and toady we see some hope that the club we support may be in for better times, so dont see where you are coming from, but just because football is a ruthless business does not mean all supporters have to be equally so - call it what you like and tell me I am soft in the head, whatever, but I just dont see the need for some of those comments that all...

FEck that was funny... ;-)

Grow up Never spoke to Lowe for a start and as you know when we spoke to Wilde our survival was far from gauranteed so stopp twisting things to support your stance. Of course its a tough business and of course these guys are used to it and expect it - so dont try the niave tag... but the fact remains whether its wigley, Gray , wotte or PEARSON why the need to take pleasure in their sacking - just fecking childish and you know it. I felt bad for Pearson because he deserved a chance and I stated that, I had NO pleasure in his departure, as I had none when Wigley left because he merely tried to do his best - he was found wanting, but no need to stick the boot in - but hey if it makes you feel better...

DEpends on what the deal is - I dont know but would speculate that if thetotal owed to creditors is 28 mil the dela to wipe the debt may be as high as 15-17 mil but its been hinted that this may be based on promotions etc - eg 8 mil up front with futher payments due on promotions etc... would make sense as teh sell value would be alot less than 15 mil..
-
BUt that is his job - the club created this mess not the administrator - heis job is to get the best that for the creditors who are OWED becaues of the CLUBs feck ups - if you just ordered a new car paid 20K but it was never delivered as they went bust, would you not want the administrator doing all he could to get you your cash back rather than worrying about the the manufacturer surviving?

Not quite sure some on here seem so embittered that they relish someones unemployment - have we really become so that we dont give a toss about anyone as they are involved in football, UP you sound like you rate your 'hobby' as more important than wishing the best for folk - when all's said and done this is still only a game and sure he is well paid (although 60k is hardly major in this bloated businesss), but come on, you sound like you take pleasure in it... I think most people especially in this climate would like to think their employers also rate effort and committment as part of the assessment? Fair enough his record is not great but to see words on here that give the perception that you will have pleasure in his dismissal does not paint you in any great light. Like all fans I want the best we can realistically attract to give us the best cahnce of success, and yes that means there is most likely a need for change, but your schardenfreude in this is at best odd and at worst quite pathetic...sorry but thats how it comes across - and he merely took a job, he is not your nemesis Lowe.
-
I think he has given the impression of someone who actually quite likes us - is becomming a bit attached so to speak...and I think he does have skills taht would be a big asset at youth dev level - should we not be looking to keep those sort of folk - not carry deadwood for sure, but I think he has enough about him to do a bloody good jo at that level.
-
Well that would be a positive for a start! ;-)
-
er also, think whatever happens we should get behind what the new owners decide and support it at leats for a while - new or old, whatever manager, whatever players, we just need some time to stand up after being knocked to teh gound, brush ourselves off and walk before we run... clicheville ;-)
-
Does taht include LM and teh like? ;-) Wotte has been dignified and I would have no problems if he stayed and developed teh academy - the creative flair of yout is whats needed when we conquer Europe in 6 years time where old school 442 which got us promoted will no longer do :-)
-
UP as an ITKer? surely not ;-) It would make sense to stagger any deal that way, given That morally giving more back when we can afford to with success rather than bleeding all available investment dry before we even start the rebuild is also best for creditors and will hopefully placate teh FL and we wont see further points reductions. I am hoping for a clean sweep board though Matty is naturally welcome, but are we going to see some names with baggage?

Like some of us said... serious players such as Pinnacle have proved to be are not really worried about a few scroats on here iving them a bit of stick - they know its aminly born out of frustration and teh misery we have been in for a long time, the desperation etc... too many false dawns etc. Hopefully, when revealed we will now be as one?
-
LOL Derry, I love the width posts - you are right of couse, if we think back our deline really began when we lost the width we had with Bridgey and Mazzadiniho on the left and to some extent Dodds/Telfer on the right - since then we never really had any any and unfortuantely no Xavi or Iniesta style central creative players to compensate - but i dont really care what nationality a manager is is if get in good coacing staff, can motivate, can understand that the firststep is simply getting out of L1 ugly or not, and at the same time continue to build a youth set up that has more flair about it as we will need them comming through later.
-
Firstly whatever else happens we need to be thankful to the Pinnacle bidders for securing the deposit and allowing the valuable staff to be paid - it will have been a tough time for them especially in this climate so well done to Lyman + co for bringing this deal to this stage. Its obviously good news, but remember there will be a raeson why they ahve 21 days and not 7 or 14 because they WILL look in deatail at the books and teh contractual obligations. These will determine what sort of opertaing budget is needed per annum and what if any shortfall will need to be covered to meet the contracts etc - and if its not poosible to ship out the overpaid, there is still a risk taht teh investor may not feel its possinble for him/them to cover that so they coudl still pull out - Thats also why they will wish to remain anonymous considering the likely vitriol that would come their way, yet they are fully within their rights to do so. I think if that wer to happen, alot will depend on whetehr those other interested parties want another go... but hopefully it wont come to that. As for pinnacle? who they representa nd what startegy will surly eventually come out - I sont expect millions but would be really ahppy that a) we have survived and b) someone with enough common sense to build the club back up within a sustainable and structure growth... we should all maybe adjust our expectations to match so that we dont get dissapointed every five minutes if not promoted or suddenly winning every game... we have hit rock bottom and need time to rebuild strong foundations, not fly-by-night success that is unsustainable. I hope the backer to pinnacle and the board they put in place IS going to be one we unite behind - I think whoever it is and whatever our preconceptions that might exist and whatever they do whether its a new man or keeping Wotte, we support them and give them a fair go. Matty involved in the boardroom will be interesting and welcome (as long as we dont get his mate back at half time - sorry nothing against him just not that funny IMHO ;-)) (although if thats the price we have to pay...;-)) There will be alot of unanswered questions, will we see LM back in the fold and what will that mean? Or will the backer be looking for a NEW look board with no baggage as it were which would be my preference... interseting and for once exciting times ahead, but lets take it as it comes and see what pans out - afterall we have had disspointmnet before, and if our new backer is not that wealthy, so what, lets give them time (I think its a very positive thing that we have NOT had public proclamations of massive investment...this time, but confidential and business like negotiations... and thank feck no 'Lets go pinnacle' Tshirts ;-)) Mr Lyman, Sir MLT, and the new mystery man - we salute you! Welcome back Matty, and welcome to Mr? whoever you maybe.

Sorry you miss the point deliberatly or otherwise I dont know... Prudent spending is spening within ones means and that is what was called for... a business or club will also budget for other items, be it marketing or whatever which you grasp and being prudent is ensuring these areas ALSO stay within budget which they did - you may not agree with the way Saints set up that budget and nor do I in some areas, but that is a totally differnt thing as to whether teh budget was prudent or not.. and ours was because we did not make losses.
-
Sorry Wes disagree, Just because we had not done so before, does not mean we did not benefit when able to do so, whether it be generating more interest by providing more news and features etc, will all have helped + special offers and deals. Also the simple fact that it provided more news and features about the club is in effect not just a service but marketing - converted or otherwise, engaging with the fans albeit in this marketig wayis still an important comercial tool. Sure it was a luxury item but What premiershiop quality players could we have gotton for 200K a year? I still think more is made of this because of WHO bought it rather than WHY or WHEN. Sure we probably paid way over the odds for it, but that was always going to happen when a prem club with Sky millions was interested and it would have cost us way over the market rate whoever we approached - as to selling at a loss, yup these things happen as it was a sellers market when we were interested, and a buyers when we needed to dump the asset...

True but with an upside down question mark surely? ;-)
