  1. But all the FACTS are clear for everyone to see: The Administrator basically has 4 parties still NEGOTIATING a bid - some probably more credible than others. i one meets the creditors criteria, they will become the preferred bidder and go to due diligence.... end off that is all we know. My concern is that it does seem to taking quite some time for a preferred bidder to be selected because of either a) none have the required funds, b) backers dropping out, c) bulls hitters d) last minute entries such as the rumoured Swiss backed bid... and the problem with paying wages whilst this is all finalised.
  2. Che? surely? (a thread just would not be the same without the spelling jibe' ;-)
  3. Oh FFS - was an investmnet in a service that cost the club a bout 200k a year t9o run - yet teh volume of airtime it provided to teh club for marketing and advertising would ahve cost in excess of 7 figures a year had it been spent on a 3rd party - but hey why let these sort of facts stand in teh way of another Chorley rant based on ignorance of business economics... The cost would have been covered by teh annual marketing/advertising budget, which meant that budget could be LOWER than otherwise and thus LESS money leaving the club...
  4. NEGOTIATIONS in late stage with 4 parties eg they are negotiating of price/size of bid, clauses and the what nots - to see if any of teh 4 bids is satisfactory to creditors - then preferred bidder selected and due diligence so lates stage in our case referes to phase 1 not the end game.
  5. Its interesting that some fans dont worry about spending money on expensive signings or high wages, yet seem to have a problem with teh club investing in a service aimed at and for FANS - teh radio staion was in effect subsidised yes but it did provide alot of Saints content on a daily basis and where else can you get that? Was there not some value in subbing it to about 200k a year in the prem - Had the club paid commercial rates for marketing and advertising to a seperate radio station for the same air time it would have run into 7 figures a year... It was sold because when in the CCC there were other priorities - but thats the sort of thing that Chorley seems ignorant about....and why many dont ahve much time for him as 'spokesperson'...
  6. H'ell do... should we write him and email, or will it put him off?
  7. Buying a football club is a bit like making love to a beautiful women. First you need to convince her that your 'tank' is full and you have 'juice' to meet her needs...then....
  8. push him down the mountain? boom boom I'll get my coat
  9. 'Supporting Saints is a bit like making Love to beautiful women... '??
  10. Well that depends - If making a positive statment about St Marys its all down the council bailing lowe out as many of the anti Lowes will obviously admit If its saying something negative about SMS then logically its all down to Lowe.... ...a nd round ,...and round... we go...
  11. Ahr the rumoured Muesli Bros bid? Think they are linking with that Thai Cheese magnet Fon du
  12. Yup but that was the pic with Eddie to the side...
  13. Sorry... ;-) Just really get wound up by woo woo nonsense - 'because its ALWAYS about the money....'
  14. NO one as buying then - and NONE of teh shareholders were actively selling - and why would they, we were a stable club slowly progressing under Strachan, why sell your share of that?
  15. Burial ground or not - spirits, ghost and curses - total and utter sh i te - we have not got into this position through bad luck, curses or pompey shirts - we got into this by having players off form and a manager who did not give a toss in that last prem season, and being crap since and not managing the finances properly...
  16. NOw you gone and done it - overwhelmed with nostalgia....
  17. Be honest - no one in the UK let alone outs side the UK gives aflying feck about any club outside the premiership and history counts for nothing either (look at Leeds) apart form each clubs own supporters, whatever the 'sleeping giant' potential. All symptomatic of the modern ideology - 'I want it now' - from the players and managers who jump ship prefereeing a fast track to medals tthan working and building something, to potential owners wanting the prem package...Had we been in the Prem right now we would be a great proposition...
  18. Would be dodgy/illegal to be honest - but then so is so much in the mysterious financial world... I know many blame FRy for the delays - but I suspect that the problem is simply that the bidders are stalling either in confirming funds or simply in the credibilty of their bids which is probably frustrating Fry as the 'ask for more time' to get the funds in order... Apparently the POmpey purchase was actually agreed nearly 3 weeks ago, but kept quiet - until after it was virtually ready to roll subject to due dilligence - in our case it seems that in order to get to this detailed due diligence phase as the preferred bidder, the proof of funds and guarrantees seem to be the sticking point - I am not concerned taht there are potential 'jokers' in the pack, Fry will be wise enough to this and it wont 'hold up' any deal - Its teh fact that no preferred bidder has been identified which suggests that to date NONE of them have demonstarted enough credibilty or strong enough ommitment from the money men that worries me...
  19. I think its totally about having a PREM club -which is great for them right now as it will stablise their balance sheet... but its also shows that the guy is more interested in owning aplaything than in tehe actual club...does that matter to fans if it provids scope for investment? not to most, to some it will but they will be in the minority. As for us its our lowly position and taht puts off these kind of investors - but that is where we should be more attractive to the the more middle level of millionnaire - someone who recognisise that teh deal could be good as an investment - think about it by the club for 15 mil spend 20 mil over 3 years supporting the playing squad and that should mean CCC playoffs at least - the point at which we suddenly would be attractive to becomming another rich mans plaything - if that what we want... I am not envious of Portsmouth because we simply cant control what happens at other clubs - if it works out for them, sure we are miles behind, but it things change - Personally would like to see MORE clubs in teh South start to impact on the norths stronghold...
  20. Dainty Dave = St David?
  21. You right naturally in a logical sense CB, but I cant help feeling that there was a way out of this but for a few months grace and the transfer window opening. Had they held off until now, we would ahve been able to sell those least committed and most valuable - those high earners now willing to move as they dont want a L1 club and togther with advanced ST sales, would have allowed for the continued restructuring initiated - and thus likely to get a full return on their debt?
  22. ;-) no one would admit to this, but suggest many are with you bro! He He...
  23. I doubt SLH paid any wages - this was afterall speculation...
  24. In this case I would suggest Buggered is allowed - I think for us right no, we are bent over a barrel, tided down, trousers round ankles with a whole crew of burly seamen waiting in line after being at sea for 5 years....
  25. Sue they should ...if they could....
