  1. Ahr takes me back - only seen him live once with the Dukes back in 88 or 89 at the old Town and Country club - superb - chilling version of Billy Austin...
  2. Thing is the 'truth hurts' so to speak and fans never like to acknowledge any negative part in their clubs position - there is always justfication for fan action.... if its ours involved in a pitch invasion it was 'provoked' and therefor deserved.... or staying away was the only way to get rid of Lowe... it was also sadly a guaranntee of admin - and yes when comparing like for like, when push came tyo shove enough fans did not turn up for a number of reasons... not having any intersetin crap football in the lower reaches of teh CCC, as protest to Lowe, credit crunch etc - valid reasons from a personal perspective but as a collective fan base it showed us as a much smaller club that we liked to imgaine.... sorry digress, but the point of the question was not about lOwes saying yes or no, we have no information or insights into that, but why if genuinely interested in a) football, b) saints would someone not look to save us whilst we were in a better position footballing wise than wait until it all went tits up - especially as 14 mil is not cheap - sure 'dedt free, but its funny how if not a creditor we all suddenly have no moral problem with that - OK so the vultures circulating were not responsible for the debt - but by bidding low they are in effect screwing creditors and yes I do have a moral issue with that - because I have been left in that situation before - company goes bust - lose money - new owners buy it for a song and have a streanmmlined debt free business that they can milk for all its worth....
  3. Ironic though considering tehir premier league sponsorship - but fairly typical in that teh authorities and general public care opnly about the the armchair masses sat on thei rbackksides watching the top four on sky, not the vast majority of true football fans who go to support their local teams up and down the country week in week out... The irony of how Sky has ruined football for the true fans (apart perhaps from teh CL qualifers) never ceases to amaze me when they patthemselves on teh back for their new Premierleague contracts....
  4. To be fair, that statement was made when the shareprice was closer to 55p and CRouch had just bougght his 10% at 65p from that Asset managemnet company that began with P (smart move)
  5. Sure, but with points deductions, possibly more to come rebuilding is going to take alot more, than had we avoided admin and the drop by support when really needed.
  6. Sorry, NC, but this thread was a question of finance really, not a Lowe thing ..again... really why is it that anyone interested in us waited fro doom to get us on teh cheap rather than offer that support when we really needed it - suggests a pure business decsion rather than any allegience to Saints and that was what has been heavily criticised in the past.
  7. Sure those actions show he is pigheaded, but its still not any evidence to suggest he a) refused to talk to interested parties or b) said no to a 20p offer when teh shareprice is down at 12p....
  8. There is money to be made - but only by really selling your asset - but even buying a L1 club chepaly requires further investment to get to teh promised Presmiership land and that can be substantial if wanting to guarrantee it... then when do you take your return, from premiership profits? Look at teh stick Lowe got for an £800,000 dividend ......
  9. Bit of a sweeping statement based on rumour though really have you asked him?
  10. Its a mute point though - in Barclays not honoring teh checks this in effect made us no longer a going concern... under such conditions it would have been illegal for Lowe NOT to place us in admin or to continue trading as normal - ineffect Barclays knew the consequences of that decision, even if in this case it was not teh creditors calling for administrators.
  11. BUt teh AViva loan has not really been the problem - its been the overdraft increasing due to a 9 mil + wage bill witha shrinking income and thus cashflow...
  12. What 'evidence'? - plenty of speculation and rumour but have not seen anything to substantiate that Lowe said NO to anyone apart from when all three said no to SISU
  13. Mind addle... who?
  14. Uhm dont really buy that - sure I think egotistically he would have loved to have been teh saviousr and proved folk wrong - but fgiven teh choice between 20p and zero, would he really have been that pig headed?
  15. Exactly why we deserve our points deduction in that acse becaus ethe best way to clear debt is success and financial stability and negotiated repayments in lie with revenue. Aviva would have at least sat down and taklked with new owners - if in L1 they will have recognised the reduced revenues and i am sure a deal could have ben struck thus gaurranteeng aviva 100% return + interest with repayments increased and teh term reduced on promotions etc...
  16. That is a good question - my only thought is that given our contractula obligations and not having had any ionterest from other clubs in said players over teh transfer window, once it became more likely that we would be relegated and loose the 3mil or so TV revenues next season, they panicked... stupid I guess because it now may see them getting LESS than had they simply insisted on players sales over the summer relegation or not...
  17. Different scenario though as we were potentially in the CCC playoffs and no huge overdraft - compared to large debta and close to admin - major shareholders may ell have accepted 20p rather than nothing on admin....
  18. May be that 14 mil is for everything - 8-9 for FSC + 4.5/5 for SMS which seems low or other way round... last week just about SFC?
  19. IF the news is true that the Administrators want 14 mil for Saints - have they not looked at the simple fact no one came in for siants when the share price was rock bottom - bbefore admin someone could have snapped up the entire pLC+ paid off the Overdraft, possibly renegotiated the stadium repayment and kept a few mil in the bank to to cover the current contractual obligations of the high income players for about 12 mil... Sure its more complex than that but 14 mil seems high even with the idea of walking away debt free - as a club paying our debts would be ethically right as well as guarranteeing no further points deductions...?
  20. That does seem high for just the club.... because before admin with shares at 10p you could have bought the club ouright and paid off the Barclays debt and probably renegotiated the Aviva deal and had change from 10 mil....
  21. I think we have set ourselves such high expectations that whatever happens there will be some disspointment despite the huge positive if we survive. Our 27 years in the top flight have left their mark, we still feel a bigger club than our lowly status, and therfore dont see a few local businessmen with a couple of mill as anywhere deserving or good enough to be charge of such a 'mighty club'.... The reality is that provided we live within our means and dont have dreamers ****ing money ojuut teh door, anyone should be able to do a reasonable job in L1 - having the dynamicism, ability and money to take us forward ultimately back to the prem is another matter...
  22. He is NOT the only one getting stick from fans or have you not seen/read this forum these last few weeks? Ther has been a reaction from those that dont believe in instant canonsization of CRouch because he has CONTRIBUTED (as the Echo understands) to our survival fro a couple of extra weeks. Yes he should be applauded for his contribution, but this application of 'legend status' and untouchable figure that some are waxing lyrical seems disproportionate... that is why there ahs been a reaction....
  23. The irony in that statement should not be lost considering it applies to ALL opinions not just your targets of that post in your typical style....
  24. LOL - how old? look forward to you returning when you actually respond to points made....
  25. Think thats probably yesterdays news - given that Sky did not report it yesterday....
