Cost of getting out the mess starting on -10 etc... simply put no return
-
Same scenario eg. - well meaning local businessman wants to help. has several contacts in the 2-5 mil wealth bracket - asks them in principle ifinterested to form a consortium to buy saints - agreement in principle from 7 or 8 backers 1 mil each etc - Fry infomed - on due diligence and creditor negotiaions goal post shift as now not as 'cheap' with creditors not prepared to accept 35p in teh pound want 45p = 10mil required, Consortium also have 1 or two of originla dropouts so 3-4 mil short, desperately trying to raise teh additional 3-4 mil from other sources/new members - delays formal bid.... sound feasible?
-
27 mil of debt, L1, -10 points - not going to attract someone who sees it as an investment with a return... as there isn't one.... not without potentially 'investing' (losing) 20mil + over 3 years to even have a stab at the prem....

Uhm, if last resort, hoping to get a better deal?

Thing is right now 100% of fans agree with Matty - and support him. If in the future he is a position to make decisions on behalf of the club, that level of suppot will only remain while we consider those decions to be right...
-
I think the point is though, that as soon as you enter the politics, its a whole duifferent ball game - hypothetically, say hes in the boardroom and responsible for advising manager choice an the Matt pic gets us relegated, does he lose reputation or is he allowed to do as he pleases based on past glories? Sure we cut him some slack because of his history with us, but ultimately it will be about the here and now. As many have rightly said - even if his heart and intentions are without doubt in teh right place and totally commited to saints, ultimately its about results when in the hot seat.

NOt really rocket science TBH - we played it on the deck and passed it around - when at home away sides defending deep and we simply were not good enough to penetrate - no width anno midfield guileand strike force ineffective - + with dodgy defence succombed to the break away goals and conceded too many fom set pieces. Away from home sides more attacking leaving us space and the pasing game worked better, more able to catch sides on the break and create space...

The Lives of Others - top film - best if you can do without the subtitles Everything is illuminated - Borat meets Schindlers list - slightly different from the book, but a good film nonetheless

True but surely you can appreciate teh need foe light hearted and juvenile banter whilst we await some real news? what else are we suposed to do ? work?

Is Minus 25 points a possibility next season?
Frank's cousin replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Saints
The complexity is that despite the FL seeing us a a single entity, from a liquidation perspective, we will be seperate - eg if SLH goes into liquidation as I understand it, FRy will then sell assets singly with SFC still having value as holding player contracts? The issue for Fry at the moment is he is trying to get a deal that is best for Creditors, now this may mean them taking 30p in the pound OR a fdeal that sees a greater return but on renotiating teh terms of loans etc - its tehse complexities that hold things up as well as teh proof of funding etc... -
Alpine before this gets silly (oops too late) teh coment about changing your mind was tongue in cheek and NOT meant as an insult in any way - afterall changing your mind IS to be encouraged. Now if you could add WHY and based on what info, it would be real progress... ;-)

9.35am Alpine is in the living room and is miserable.

must be laugh a minute in your household....

JUst remember we were in a small B+B in teh night before in Bridgend - teh bar was full of Saints fans in their shirst having a stonking time. The only Arsenal fans were a table of corporate freebies in suits having dinner - naturally we took the ****.!
-
But as has been pointede out - Matty has simply said he would be happy to support ANY bid that is going to save us and that shows what a legend he is - The reason he is currently with pinnacle is simply because he probably sees that as the best of teh options on the table at the moment and if that in turn helps secure funding for teh bid, great.
-
And change your mind ;-)
-
9.20 am - Lawries in the bath, Leon offers to wash his back. Fry is in conversation with the top brass at Pinnacal over the bank statement that was faxed over - he suspects tippex and the moving of a decimal place two spaces to the right (This is made up for you legal types out there!)
-
Totally agree with that, but do you think Lowe would have gone with nothing but kids had we not been under such financial pressure to reduce the wage bill and ship out higher earners - flase economy or not, I dont ahve enough info on teh financila details to know whether this was masterplan v enforced?
-
Points deductions and handicaps would only be papering over cracks and not solving teh root of teh problem. Its quite simple. there needs to be a better way of leveling the financila playing field that provides all clubs with at least a chance of success. There also needs to be a squad cap IMHO to prevent teh richh clubs hoovering up teh best young talent to sit on their benches. A total FIFA led transfer regulation overall needs to be put in place to give REAL benefit to clubs who develop talent and prevent agents from gaining financially from Player transfers - eg loyalty bonuses for players and agents for players who see out contracts need to be far in excess of lucrative sugning on fees... encouraguing loyalty over successive transfers which undermine clubs stability... not sure what teh answers are, but its about time that teh governing bodies started looking at ALL teh questions seriously, stop pandering to teh top sides and get to grips with this before its too late. Its all evry well pundits and teh media waxing lyrical baout howthe prem is the worlds best league - the worlds best league of 4 teams is nmore like it and they should start by stop being so thick and acknowledging what Platini is real;ly on about. He's not aginst English football as they keep going on about verbatum, hes against the collossal financial rewards available in Englands top devision that means just as know one can compete within teh prem, The CL is becoming equally predictable. His problem is UEFA simply dont have teh balls to take on teh big clubs....

Like I said, lets see how things pan out next season
