That all depends on what they do - if they run us well within our means, then no problem, but we are likely to be stuck in the L1/L2 scenario for years to come - if they go on a 'wilde' spending spres for a promotion push then yes we could find ourselves back in te same sitauation this time next season...

Think thats correct - preferred bidder status is simply that the Administrator believes this to be the best bid for cre4ditors and thus they get first dabs at seeking the agreement with creditors...however what I dont understand is this. We have now had it confirmed that no bidders are interested in SLH the company in Admin - Mr Crouch has told us that SFC is NOT in admin. Is SLH the debtor to Barclays or SFC , and is SLH the debtor to Aviva or SMS ltd? If someone buys sfc for say 5mil from the administrator, I assume they walk away debt free with teh 5mil going to teh SLH creditors (Barclays and Aviva) same as the stadium - If someone buys SMS from teh administrator for 7 mil they no longer have a debt (unless they borrowed the 7 mil) and once again the 7mil would gto to SLH to pay off creditors (Aviva who hhave first shout on teh stadium return?) Can someone confirm this is right or am I completely wrong?

does not look good -liquidation....of SLH - may still mean SFC sold as going concern - basically it would confirm that no one talking to FRy is in discussions about taking over SLH in its entirity which we kind of suspected anyway. S maybe this is simply confirmed now as the bids received are not for SLH in its entirity?

So here we are in desperation , happy to accept anyone who saves the club as we have no choice....
-
Ron, This is maybe an unfair question, but do you really believe that MJ has changed his spots? If so what eveidence has he provided that he has evolved from the BStter of the past?
-
Now that is clever...
-
Do you think we could sk to see Mr Fry's timesheet?
-
That is very funny... 8-)

I know Ron will be able to speak for himself. I know Ron very well, a good pal and a decent honest bloke who loves this club and is quite well connected at player level. He has my admiration as he has an open mind to most things and is not a hardarrrsed cynic like me ;-) I would say less taken in by MJ, more like open minded about it and is probably also sceptical to some extent, also probably too nice a fellow to start giving him a public kicking. Me on teh other hand having heard first hand what ST David and LLS said last time around and even before the BOurnemouth debacle, I really dont know whether to PMSL or cry that this is potentially teh only option and is likely to be **** in the wind. My idea for a sweep stake would be what excuse will we have for its failure 1. It was all BS from the start 2. The 'backers' had cash flow problems which meant t could not go ahead 3. The backer is in prison, dead, fictional 4. Outside interference - someone else fecked up 5. Saints forum atitude scared away teh backers - yes those mean 30 or so internet obssesssed tossers like me scared of hard nosed business types from completeing a multimillion pound takeover becaus ewe said a few 'nasty' things... (you could not make it up except someone has! ) 6. add your own cut out and keep excuse here for when teh inevitable happens 7. It actually happens we are saved and I will tell everyone on here how sincerly sorry I am and that I am a prize barstard who will never mention a positive about Lowe ever again...

Lowe makes an even bigger mammary gland of himself...

I have acknowledged that he tried to stem the tide - (see other posts) - but it was akin to cloing teh stable door after the horse has bolted and he could have stopped that excess when wilde was promising investment to cover the spending.... but how would the fans have responded to him had he done so at the time? Come on, did you not cringe at the recent radio interviews? I did not expect Crouch to be good in those situations, thats fair enough, but a) he did not need to get involved or agree to that interview and b) i did not expecthiom to make such a gaff.... -
You can be the first but you wont be the last .... lets hope we still have a club over which we can speculate about a takeover in 2010!
-
100% in agreement - you manage to say verywell what I sometimes struggle to get across - with or without the tag Alpine and few others like to tie me with...
-
Unicol made a sharepurchase last time round and I thk had a stake of approx 3.5% which cost tehm at teh time about £500,000 - now worth nothing....
-
Salz and davies are where they are because they actually ahve teh intelligence to raelise that the ONLY money you invest in football is money you are prepared and can afford to lose - I cant blame them as their personal wealth is theirs and they owe teh club nothing, moreover its a thankless task. Howevere, i woudl ahve felt alot more confident if their names were genuinely used in brokering a deal even if not personnally involved.
-
My fears exactly - maybe I should have approached Mr Fry with my ideas for a consortium as Maybe then I could have had a seat in the Directors box fro the last game and looked important ? If MJ saves us, I will publically apologise and swear never to a) criticise him, b) say anything remotely positive about Lowe agains ever...

This need for middlemen can only be explained because none of teh interested parties have a great deal of funds - eg it needs 4-8 folk to come together and so someone starts this process - but my concern is that Jackson was atthe forefront of some seriously delusional 'takeovers' previously, taking in deatils about David Beckham, Arab funding and god knows whet else - forget a media precesnce, I can live with that, but not out and out bull**** that even sucked in some intelligent posters. Multiply this by teh Bournemouth fiasco and we have a situation that if this IS or becomes our only hope, i would be seriously worried - Sorry Ron, but after having met MJ, I am struggling to take this seriously.
-
Sorry Ron, this is what i dont get... Its been pretty much in teh national media that we are in admin and buyers are sought - anyone serious would either appoint their own broker or deal direct. MJ and even SG are not in a position to buy the club themselves so why get involved? Everyone they contact will know the club is for sale if they have any interest whatsoever in a) sainst b0 owning a football club For me the ONLY reason we have MJ involved is because he is always keen to play a role - and his 'backers' are numerous because they dont ahvethe financial clout to do it on their own - so we potentially end up with a consortium of 6-8 - how long before they fall out as more money is required to prop us up?
-
Disagree, the small stadium meant the players we attracted were those that really wanted to be here - and that was the biggest influence on success...and when you have greater demand than supply and every game is sold out that is bound to craete a better atmosphere - we have done it at SMS, just not as frequently...

Fair points Wes and I dont diasagree with your logic, but maybe the potential outcome - its basically almost impossible to determine and I guess our opinions are based on very subtle differences in where we place the importance of the variables. I do think its made worse by the fact that there are so many variables all intertwined yet also seperate issues - Pearson going could have a huge impact or a neutral one we dont know, but then depending on what you believe on that, some folk on here then assume your opinions on Lowe or Crouch must follow along the same lines for every variable... -

You seem so desperate to 'tag' or label folk Alpine - why is this? easier to dismiss and CONTINUALLY add feck all to the debate or provide an iota of insight into how you formed your opinion, because you sure as hell give the perception that its simply founded on ignorance and bigotry.... -
Docker , dont think for a moment davin was suggesting Lowe had NOT done bad as well... calm down ;-) ...but dont get me started on the 'backing strachan' thing - as no one to date has provided anywhere near a decent answr as to wher the £15mil + was going to come from ....
-
The amount of blame football fans give to stadia for either bad results or bad atmospher is actually commical if they were not so serious - its the traditional excuse... At SMS, if we are up for it and alot of that depends on what is happening on the pitch, and the crowd mix is by chance up for it It will be electric - witness Saints v Norwich in the 4-3 relegation battle thriller and the the pompey games ... no for me a stadium design can help with atmospher but teh fans need to to create it first and foremost.
