  1. What part of 'not many' did you not understand? had I said no one, you would have been correct
  2. I admire your lexiographic intellect here. Sadly I suspect that you will indeed be proven correct. Will be interesting to see the terms of the CVA and if Birch is as willing as Chinnys Monkey AA in letting it be deferred for so long that he is off with the parachute cash before they begin paying it....
  3. To be fair though, not many have tried preferring to splash cash, especially on cheaper foreign imports. Need to try and create a culture that they have in many Bundesliga clubs where young players will generally see out their first contract at least.
  4. TBH - have to agree they deserve it on league performance, but ...ahrr cant bring myself to like 'big fat sam'.. and his chewing and whining....
  5. come on... thats a little churlish... shoudl I respond with: '' why are you so bothered that I am so bothered that others are seemingly bothered'' ...a laugh surely? I am not, but raise it as its related to ego - one of the complaints issued agaisnt those in the 'arrogant' bucket.... and I love it when folk miss the irony...
  6. ...maybe they have a point... afterall its all relative darling
  7. I just dont get why some of you are so worried if a few posters are desperate for expansion and grow and success, no matter how long its gone on for - if its not your bag, just leave it alone. Seriously its not arrogance, its dreams, aspiration and an element of ego fuelling for sure, but there is seriously no harm in that.... apart from to those that have their own ego issue -too worried about what someone else/other fans may think - which is just pi ss in the wind.. The irony is lost on some, saying it should not be taken all that seriously, yet seem so worried about what is written on here in case other fans are laughing at us... and thats not taking things too seriously?
  8. Funny how you are so obsessed with labels - and you seem to be the only one using your 'special terms of endearment' - no one else has labelled themselves as anything... only you 'sunshine'
  9. A few fans in their enthusiasm for all things Saints, get carried away on the excitment of promotion and responding to rumours of NCs progressive plans for growth try and make a case for how this might come about either quickly or over time using a few otherclubs as bench marks. Common sense response = 'interesting points, but maybe a tad optimistic even with a chairman that is on record as saying he wants growth, but I guess football is about opinion, enthusiasm and yes ego does play a part as 'bigger club' is what we all want to be.. but interesting perspectives nonetheless Turkish and Chums response = hahhahha arrogant idiots who have no clue. You cant come on our boards and mention this as its makes us look arrogant and pathetic and its embarrassing and we look silly to other fans... which we really worry about... and dont even get me started on clown costumes... its not funny, just wierd If you had simple 'dared to question it' it would have ben fair enough - but yours that's never enough for you is it - you need to wind folk up, ridicule and 'point fingers laughing'... at anyone who does not seem to conform to your exacting model of what a fan should be...
  10. ... well when they whinge and complain - its possibly worth mentioning that they kinda spunked £150million in the last 5 years of money they did not have on top of 7 years of prem revenues (estimated at £300mil+) ....on....er... a cup.... and ...er....er... some will no doubt say it was worth it for those memories... as leeds fans did.... but I suspect that deep down, many would happily give that up for a more secure future.
  11. There is a difference between dreams and aspirations, expectation etc and arrogantly believing its all rightfully ours. Its surely about time fans move aawy from such arbitrary concepts as 'big club/small club' anyway - prefer to be seen as a 'professionally managed club that plays attractive football' than worry about how we are perceived in other terms. Sure, would us to grow in terms of regular fan base and infrastructure as well as get some success as all fans want for their clubs. Some of us are just a little more hopeful that its actually possible now, not through arrogance, but because we are very professionally run and have a chaiman who seems to demand it. ...Blackpool. Actually think Holloway's alright - we got under his skin and he reacted naturally/honestly. might have looked a prat, but at least he's not affraid of his emotions.
  12. No. Its done deliberately now to **** you off. I fact I will make it my sole purpose to post at least 1 2500 word meaningless post on every theread in which you, Dune and Turkish participate, to frighten off the neutrals who I bore, but with the benefit they are not exposed to your merry bands inane attempt at 'humourous wind up' - afterall cant take the web so seriously can we.....
  13. We can't have been Lindford, did you not see all those is colours and jester hatted kids and 30,000+ enjoying themeselves and showing sporting ideals through staying to clap the winners as well as our own? Or hear the wall of 'Yellows' against drowning out waht little squeaks came form the Gooners until they scored? We have been told that this sort of thing makes us an embarassment to football...
  14. Sorry, was not insinuating you were a 'young scamp' - merely that when I was, I would have agreed with you 100% and in some respects probably still do. But dont underestimate the power of an emotional attachment to the original in the argument. I fully appreciate what you are saying... All along the watch Tower by Hendrix works, but I cant see 'Tangled up in Blue' working in any other way as His Bobness's almost laxidasical telling of a deeply cutting tale. I think in this case though, we may have to disagree. I do think its a song that works when stripped down to the bare emotion of the lyric, better than most, and although I would happily concede that there are far better ways in which it could be done, dont believe that version is without some merit, even if not really my style. IMHO, as long as those lyrics still convey their haunting nature, it can still work?
  15. TBH I think it hinges more on how quickly they can shift teh high earners..... which as we have seen is rather slowly. If Birch shifts them on so that tehir projected wage bill is no more than around 50% of their project L1 income and they have a business plan that would MAINTAIN that ratio, and within it provision for teh imediate repayment over a number of years at say 30p in the £, with teh parachutes to come, they could convince teh other creitors that its a good deal.. the problem is that bloke chinney - we simply do not know what he would be prepared to accept over how long, versus the amount he would have to pump in if the teh high earners cant be sold to keep it going until the parchutes given him some cash - and you can bet that any moneies he does pump in are as more 'loans' evn if in exchange for 'equity' - guess he can value teh club at what he likes and then take the parchutes on lieu of those loans... + whatever else he can get long term as part of a CVA.... Sadly for the PST, they simply dont have the cash to pay him off and get rid... thing is if he is to become the new owner, would he pass the FAPPT this time around?
  16. Never used them when nipper was small - kept thin metal objects out of reach so nothing really for her to poke in the sockets ...
  17. I take it you love the original to? Maybe when I was 20 or so, if I had heard that I might have been appalled - at that age I took music ever so seriously, without really giving the time of day to different genres. 23 years later, I have mellowed somewhat - having played an instrument all my life, across a variety of styles and influences, I just feel that the best stuff DOES work in any style - Just because Ian Curtis and co created a distinct mood and atmosphere with the song, does not make it any less valid in another. Is it the best cover of that song I have heard? nope, but it works, even if not totally to my taste. The 'folk scene' is an interesting one - but you are rather sweepingly dismissive of a genre that is at the heart of all music - Sure, I am not too enamoured with those that 'keep the flame' in the traditional scene - not my style, an I firmly believe if something is good ennough it will survive, it does not need a 'scene' to keep it going.... ... but any music that has lyrics about aspects of life contemporary or otherwise is in essence 'folk music' - a awy of communicating thoughts, stories and emotions... I bet Ian Curtis if alive would not have such a dismissve attitude.
  18. I knew we would eventually find something we had in common
  19. IF there is any truth in these rumours, its probably no more than NC being a bit ****ed off that 'only' finished second - I believe he sets and expects the highest targets and standards, andhas probably already told Nige what he expects next year at a time when NIge probably wants to take a breather.. but suspect its all rumour/gossip ******. Afterall no owrking relationship is ever 100% smooth all the time.
  20. Shhh Dont tell everyone. They are usually the mere musings of a boring fart when work is quiet, or like now when very busy, reports to write (which takes at least twice as long as anyone else just to complete teh (sic) spell check) and need to procrastinate. Thankfully, I have just about enough self awareness to realize I am using a couple of 1000 words when 10 would do, and that my opinions are worth didly squat on the grand scheme of things, but there are some that just get under my skin.... I should know better, but am happy to admit that I can be a complete arse with the best of them... Had a massive falling out with Um Pahars once - PM flames the lot, and he was probably right in the end... but dont tell him... When tired and emotional... its easy to be an arse
  21. Just watched that - first time I had seen it as was abroad at BFES schools alot in the 70s and we used to get WATCH and the on video, played on machines that filled the room enough to give kids nightmares - but as you are still here, must have kept you away from farms ! so did the trick
  22. I would have thought it was pretty obvious I was referring your delight in laughing at people you dont know based on their opinions which you often misinterpret rather than a comment on any pleasure I get from posting on here.... I did afterall bold your statement.. but as you probably just skimmed over it it was not unexpected. ...and I should know better at myage not to dish it back... but its a necessary evil..
  23. Possible - but maybe NC is thinking along mre contnental lines where the 'head coach' is there to shape and mould, but the continuity is delivered by others?
  24. Your life must be really interesting if this contributes to your days enjoyment. Sat their, big grin, what a pathetic fricjen loser you must be.... As to the 'vast majority' skimming past...who cares, I am sure you speak for them so it must be true... I will cry myself to sleep knowing this... 'sunshine' - you sound like a creepy uncle - scary...
