  1. The job has been done, the rotting carcus is now simply left for the carrion to pick on - God Bless Organized Crime?
  2. Which reminds me of Gemmels Genius
  3. If he leaves Spurs, you can bet he once again comes away semlling of Rosie - er sorry fraudian slip - Roses in the media... what he has on them I dont know, but would not be surprized if he ended up back at Wham....
  4. I think Lee will be a crucial part next season. Cant see us playing 4231 (although it works nicely for the Germans), but that formation makes us a little narrow IMHO. Can see JRod possibly polaying wide opposite Lee with Adam getting a freer role through the middle: Davis New RB/Jos/New CB/Fox Schneiderlin/Cork (ideally new Midfield General Schweinsteiger would do:lol:) JRod Adam Lee Lambert
  5. I know I will get crucified for this, but when you look back, the way ownership can have such an impact on a club, with the benefit of hindsight, would we have been as vitriolic in wanting Lowe out at any cost? We got VERY lucky with Markus and alot of that had to do with a with the simple fact even though we had gone backwards in footballing terms, we had invested wisely in infrastructure that made us attractive. With Lowe, we had a conceited, often arrogant, and stuborn and plainly poor in fotballing terms chairman...but at least we was honest. When you think of what we could have ended up with....
  6. sounds about right, remeber when Klinsmann joined Spurs (first time) he was on 20k a week
  7. I previously read he was on 5k and Spurs were offering 7.5k a week. Guess its difficult to be precise as there's basic + win and goal bonuses etc. Remember it being reported that in 2003 Beats was on 22.5k but with all the bonuses it meant it was around 33k average due to the success that year...
  8. Not sure why so shocked... he wanted to stay and signed a contract to that amount. It was ultimately his choice, and at the time of signing it, it would have been a pretty good deal for a club of Saint's size. Later contracts were higher, for players who made a far lesser contribution, but its also about timing... Le Tiss got unlucky really in signing his last contract before the next wage explosion. He could and should have been able to play for another couple of seasons really as well which would have seen a nice final pay day... but like many of us, he did not exactly look after his body during those crucial late 20s - enjoyed a pie - and that does not help with injuries that he suffered towards the end of his career. The problem now is not wages being stupid for the very best World class players, thats the norm in any sport, its the level paid for very average players that is crippling many clubs, or restricting their progress and development. Wage caps and fair play rules are just booll ooks. If the Prem, FL, or FA were rreally serious about levelling teh playing field and encourging youth development, they would introduce rules that restricted transfers of contracted under 23s (there would be a way around EU/employment laws) to allow clubs to benefit on the pitch from investmnet in youth, not just in financial terms... Those who say the smaller clubs 'need' to sell to survive are usually those at bigger clubs happy to poach - if wages across teh divisions were more realistic, the lower league clubs would not NEED to sell youngster early, no one would.... but as usual, teh rules and regs are stacked in favour of the bigger clubs... and that is the real problem to fair play and fair wages Kudos and legendary status to MLT for staying loyal, but he should still have been able to set himself up on the wage he was one and the money he earned form football...and it was his choice.
  9. Hey Alps, calm down mate... its only the beeb. I agree they are slow on our online updates, but surely, this is more to do with the fact that those responsible for the updtes are likely to be fans of certain clubs.... rather than any arranged bias...not sure the jo applications include which team you support juts yet!
  10. 3rd was something else... but defending bby both sides for the rest was 'shocking'
  11. So they get a 16mil share of the vote, but only entitle to 15% of that at 2p in the pound? = £48,000 from the original £82,000,000...
  12. sound to me like Baker tiley creditors from CVA1 will be owed only 15% of their 16mil (or 24 mil?) of which they will get 2p in the pound.... either way, Chinney wins, creditors completely scewed the stinking mire of a club gets away with it again... IMHO
  13. On the 'failed' CVA 1 - is it possible (mathematically) that the Baket Tiley could vote against, yet CVA2 still be passed... suely that would be a final **** take too far? Eg it may be considered legaly that CVA1 has not failed as CVA2 replaces it, yet the creditors of CVA1 did not agree... this truely is a sickening mess..
  14. But surerly Steve the FL will not interpret CVA1 to have failed if teh CVA1 creditors vote for the CVA2.... What is most sickening is that we could end up with a situation, where no further punishment is forthcoming, and pompey who have racked up over 120mil of non-footballing debt (assumes the foootballing debts have been paid) will in effect pay back 500k.... if the FL feel this is acceptable, then the shame is well and truely on them, not just those down the road.
  15. The acting like a pansy is my biggest grip... rolloing around cluthing the shin in agony.... could learn a LOT from the egg chasers on this score... cant believe footballers have no shame in being considered such wet girly cry babies... very simple and effective ways to stop this to, but never seems to be discussed. 1. Let physios on teh pitch and continue the game, 2) IF a physio does come on the pitch, the player MUST leave the field of play for 5 minutes 'recovery/assessment' time.... see how quickly they start getting up then. On simulation, very simple in the top leagues... simple. The player can let the ref know he dived/no contact ON the pitch and face no punishment. The Ref is then allowed to review a post match video with colleagues and the video review post match reveals he did dive, then an auto 3 match ban. Get rid of both without significant cost or impact on the game. I know some say its part of it, and it 'evens' out, but just cant stand it when cheated against and embarrassed when our players have done in the past - It also means that genuine shouts for a penalty or foul are 'overlooked' at times which is again not fair.
  16. New Clown suit at the ready
  17. Finally got round to watching 'The Lives of Others' picked up the DVD moths ago and just not had the time... great film, superbly acted. Seem to like these post 'Berlin wall' German film making - cant remember the name of it now... I know very bad, but loved that comedy about the young guy whose gran has been in a Coma and wakes up after teh wall has come down and he tries to keep her thinking its still all the same... anyone remember what that was called?
  18. Well.... finally got the standrad reply to my FL email asking for clarification on the CVA 1 V CVA2 rules... once again they state that ''until the cirecumstances of Portsmouth's exit from administration are known, no comment can be made'' ... blah blah... but it suggests that things are still very much far from 'resolved'.... the saga continues... Fitzhugh Fella...look at waht you have done! LOL
  19. Ahr... the great 'Royal' debate.... No probs with folk getting into the celebrations, but dont understand why they feel the need to wiat until someone born into a role has done it for 60 years before tehy suddenly get a rush of 'community' spirit... what about every other day? If community is 'alive and well', why is there such a fuss made about it on one day in how many? Cant argue that the whole 'Royal thing' adds a few quid to the tourist coffers, not that its my bag, but seriously, how anyone can still fawn over royalty that is an accident of birth in a modern society, is beyond me. Does make me laugh when some go on...and on... and on about how 'hard' they work though... yes the young lads have done some graft, but unlike the rest of us, its only a few years not a lifetime. They gain privilage and 'status' by an accident... built on an ancient system that divided land and wealth based on who had was most ruthless and simply took it... I am not suggesting its worth divving up and taking it back, but it is surprizing that so many still believe its merited and celebrate the royals to a point or worship.... odd
  20. :-) ...and teh fact you probably pay him double what he could get anywhere else and unlikely to want to take a paycut.... classic
  21. aye but I bet they both KNOW what they are - OP I think was converned that his GD did NOT know what hey were... My 7 year old goes through stages - loves green things one minute, hates the next, tolerates the rest of the time.... and strangly loves sprouts which IMHO were coughed up after a heaver night by Satan...
  22. Feck me... 2 goes and still cant get it right.... here you go Frank's Cousin Forum Bore This Charming Man Not the forum bore, but I do like to post many times on threads about trainers and when the new iPhone is coming out which is really interesting and not boring at at all for a grown man
  23. 3) PFC are fcked, but the FL doesn't act against them as their get out clause is their rules dont cover it... they then change their rules and close the loop hole to prevent this - as nearly always happens .... the pompey donkey has long since run to the hills before the FL even realised the stable door was left ajar...
  24. You really are a cretin - Yes there are countless examples of so called 'communist/marxist' regimes have instigated violence against tehir own people - but even you must recognise these are not marxist/communist regimes in true sence of the philiosophy - merely the remaining party labels. Slight difference between true communisim and fascism is simple enough for even you to understand - one is based on equality, one inextricably linked to ethic superiority. Given how you are so proud of Britain I take it that includes our stance against fascism in the war? (although judging by some of your previous posts its hard to tell...) in which case surely you should be applauding those left wing Ultras for having a go at fascist hoolis?
  25. Aye, but could put up with the hair to have a Beckenbauer, Maier, Hoeness, Breitner, Gerd Muller types in the side though ;-)
