  1. have to be pretty sharp on this thread.. as I have found to my cost as well:blush:
  2. Beat you to that :-) see above
  3. From Coventry City forum SEPTEMBER 2011 - another 'football media whore' type?
  4. Could be simply that of the emotional relief to be honest - after two years of intensity. Of course you could also read more into it, if you want... did he always know that his job was get promoted to the prem, and he did it early so it might mean an earlier than anticipated goodbye? Who knows....
  5. Calm down Voice of Ignorance (we can both act 5 years old if you really want to). Some of us are not that naive to recognise subtle digs when they crop up. Sacking a popular and successful manager will no doubt upset quite a few people and rightly so. But there is often no room for sentiment in football if you wnat success. So any criticism of NC should be dependent on whether there is logic in that decsion. If he has big bucks to spend to suport a strategy for rapid growth and NAs status is preventuing this, then logic would follow it was teh only deciosn he could make... if on the otherhand the plan is gradual growth and progress there would be no logic in such a decision given that NA would be and has demonstrated he is perfect for that role. simple, Reasonable enough for you.... incidently not sure why you apply that tag, given I have never claimed it... but i guess that irony is lost on you.
  6. Er no... rumours on whether NC may or may not be considering a new manager is a fair discussion but in theory is NOT a negative about NC - how can it be when it would only be a negative if the decision went pear shaped... and none of us can predict the future. The OP question/discussion is sound, but posters ...predictably... using it to have a dig at NC, based on rumour and crystal ball gazing is what is negative...
  7. ....mor to the point, hyperthetically, what would you be prepared to pay if Cortese spent 100mil pon players for a push to the CL?
  8. Thomas Pink Slim fit traveller - get them at airports for about £50 - great for minimal iron after flights....
  9. THINK it is approx: 16.8 mil to BT (CVA1) - will BT have that shar e or would teh individual creditors have anouth vote? (how much of this is HMRC?) 3-4 mil HMRC 10.8 CSI probably around 2 mil smaller creditors then you have football creditors, probably up towards 4-6 mil by the time this is resolved, Secured then adds 17 of chinneys Not sre what has happened to if anything the child maimer's 2 mil r so..
  10. Adkins is clearly on the up. He will be a great manager IMHO. The question is whether NC has the patience to allow NA to learn and grow with teh job in hand and within whatever timeframe he has for saints domination () of Europe... Ok at least major progress to a staple top 10/8 prem club. Ironically teh fact that we have gotten to the PL 2 years ahead of the so called schedule may be what makes his position a little less certain. He signed a contract not that long ago so we can assume everythig was rosey then, but suddenly we face a new and more difficult challenge and teh question taht must have crossed NCs mind is, Is NA ready for it, or would another season or so in the NPC have given him more experience? In a fair world NA gets his shot and 100% backing - he has earned that right, and I love the idea of seeing him grow and develop as a manager as the club grows - its the ideal and he turns out to be our next LM with a long and successful record at saints. Will NC have the patience for that or will he be expecting big things quicker than we anticipate and feel NA is currently able to deliver that? I have no doubt NA will be able to... one day, but is he ready now? I would like to think he is.
  11. Because Chinney is in effect the major creditor so his votes will probably swing it, is the general concensus - although Baker Tilly may vote against. Although this time around Chinney does not have AA presenting his version of the debts owed which means poetentially/alegedly, teh size cant be adjusted to 100% guarrantee that Chinney beats off those pesky kids at the HMRC. Many of the otehr creditors are local businesses that have probaberly written what they are owed now and have pompey fans as owners... could be closer this time round, but as with most of these cases, getting something is better than nothing... just suspect the payment plan will be tighter than last time IMHO
  12. I actually think they were to the CL, what WE were to the Championship (not in the style stakes, but in gaining a coverted promotion prize against the odds). We were not the best side overall, I believe there were about 4 or so that should have done much better, but we hung in there there through unity of the unity of the squad, trying to play our way etc. and had a bit of luck to boot, with other sides not really firing on all cylindersa until they were on catch up.
  13. 14th - but I know feck all as I said 10th for last season... difference is the opposition ARE as good as I think they are, which was not the case last year
  14. You Tease you... I suspect though that the FL will bottle it... As they have no specific rule on this, it leaves any punsihment they impose subject to legal wranglings and interpretation - do they have the stomach for it? Think about it, Pompey could very well argue that CVA1 has not failed, merely been renegotiated when absorbed into CVA2 and if creditors agree, how is that any different to agreeing a CVA? I suspect that a deal of some sort will be done, whereby The FL want to ses and apporve the repayment plan for the CVA which will include what is left of the Parachutes after the football creditors have been paid in full or no golden share.... They will then close the loophole in the rules... Pompey will get away with it... and any concern over 'dangerous precedent' will be covered by a chnage and tightening of the rules... IMHO... I just really, really hope I am wrong on this one:blush:. So Rallyboy, what do you know?
  15. Dortmund should be in tehre.... 80,000 nearly every week, great place to wath Football, and just done the domestic double with a relatively young side... should do better in teh CL next year..IF they keep hold of their best...
  16. Always had you down for someone who supported Chelsea... Considering the nationalties involved, a Dutchman who should have won for Bayern, its hardly something for you to satrt prancing about draped in your Union Flag.... But your are right that there is a certaib schardenfreude in seeing Redflaps miss out on the CL.
  17. Not sure it was a great 'advert' as some make out considering how they played agaisnt Barca and Bayern... you just know had it been a foreign side that had played that way teh media would have ripped them to shreads.. gutsy, yes... but nothing more.
  18. ... its the only poetic justice of the night mind... Fair play to Chelsea geting past Barca and Bayern... but hardly done with any style.
  19. Think NC should have the ST card chip inserted into one of those fake cones and everyone has to wear on to get in...
  20. Subtle but important difference - selective breeding within species is one thing, introducing genes form another is more complex. With large animals its not really an issue as typically no viable offspring make it into the gene pool. Plants is a whole different ball game as they have a habit of mutating more rapidly and doubling chromosomes to make offspring viable and more difficult to control reproduction... in effect you simply dont know where introduced genes may end up, especially if introducing pest resitance into crops... there is a chance these can end up in weeds somewhere down the line and negate the benefit or make it worse That said you make a fair and valid point about need to feed... but controls tend to be limited when multinationals are just looking for a quick buck... nothing to do with tree hugging, but industry generally does not give a **** about long term consequences when shareholders are demanding dividends. Biologists (as one myself) are pro, but with measured controls and long term assessment before commercially driven
  21. 23 ..would have been 24 but sold the Audi
  22. Right - I'm sticking you on ignore
  23. You spelt meerschweinschen wrong - but nice acroyms - although being a pedant and an acronym should spell a new word... you know lie in the 'Men form U.N.C.L.E' etc...
