What a f*ckin' 'orrible sight. And the next time the TV cameras focus on this bell-ringing freak as if he's some kind of iconic face of the football fan, maybe they should ask him what that tattoo is on his leg...or are hooligan badges acceptable when it's "plucky little p*mpey"?"

All it proves is that there's noone over the age of about 10 on POL. Any skate who's been supporting them any longer would be well aware of their freaky obsession with the "scummahs" from about the early/mid 60s once we become top dogs on the south coast. The fact that we gave them little or no attention for the next 40 years really f*cked with their heads and made them real bitter. Bitterly obsessed. We've had the opportunity to turn the tables for a few years but, it must be said, more a tongue-in-cheek p*ss-take for most.

This. A 'Southampton fans' accent shouldn't be confused with a 'Southampton' accent as a fair chunk of our supporters come from places like the New Forest, Wiltshire and Dorset and if I suddenly realised I spoke like that I would change my accent with immediate effect Why would anyone keep talking like that if it labelled them as thick country bumpkins who are ridiculed by us normal people?

As Saint Garrett says, if you say it enough times the gullible really start to believe it must be true. We can thank Dinenage for all the bullsh*t who started banging out this garbage 30 odd years ago when they were even more sh*t than they are now and farrton was nothing more than a sparsely populated morgue. I guess he's done a good job on them really.

Spot the similarities...?

You need to brush up on your history son...the reason you no longer play in 'salmon' pink shirts and that you're no longer known as 'The Shrimps' (it was all so appropriate wasn't it) was because some shyster changed your historic colours and traditional nickname. True story.

Unfortunately rallyboy, PES "don't read" your posts, so the thicky-portsea-island-dweller probably wont respond. And..."But be warned, if you then get in the ring with more experienced and sharper opponents who know the subject better than you, you'll be dumped on your ar$e faster than a gobby cagefighter at the AFC Bournemouth christmas do"...another little gem I might add.

Ah, that's it, Poyet no doubt recommended Saints to his fellow Uruguayan.......oh, hang about...
-
Hey, we sign Ramirez, they get Riquelme, everybody's happy. I mean, just look at the smile on Corpy's face...

Can't see too many buying in advance for a friendly against Wolves, it will be more about a 'walk-up' today. Still can't see it attracting much above 5,000.
-
No. Anyway, there will no doubt be "faaaaaasands" locked out f'sure.
-
I've heard a few say this. No it wont, it will never go away. They will just reform and hostilities between the two clubs will continue...it's not like portsea island disappears at the same time. Other than a possible cup draw, it will probably be a number of years before we come up against each other (on the pitch) but that's hardly any different to the last century. Oh btw... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?39110-All-Saints-fans-should-protest-about-this-disgusting-slur

Tbf the kind of fan that travels away regularly is probably your die-hard that would still be there no matter how bad the team was. If, as you say, Bournemouth take away 700 (and that's probably one of their bigger away followings, while 1,500 for us isn't) while their average home gate is 6k, well if that suddenly dropped of to a more regular 4k then those 700 would probably still remain a constant both home and away. Regular away followings don't come and go as dramatically as home attendances when things get tough.
-
Time for your medicine...it's not all bad... Best wishes Whitey.
-
Maybe half the team are gonna play in the red shirts, the other half in the white, that way it'll look like stripes. Ingenius. Anyway, I have it on good authority these are the new kits for the next 3 years... Move over Barcelona.

…and who could forget this little gem? Maybe a statue of this would reflect their history quite nicely.
-
It has to be one of their most iconic fans...she's a legend... ...or in honour of their 'Pack-the-Park' campaign... (early days but it could look a little bit like this)
-
OK, the "bundle" is now a more reasonable £47...but then who's gonna pay £15 to watch Wolves?
-
To be fair, 'Miss portsea island' is a clear winner but this one would sum up the Saga quite well... Tho' if it truly needed to represent the "world's greatest" then the statue would have to be T(legendary)CWTB. Unfortunately one already exists

Talk of stripping Rangers of trophies north of the border for their cheating, some of the comments sound familiar... http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/hay-strip-rangers-titles-but-no-prize-for-runners-uo.17951362

If ever there was a fixture that wasn't just randomly picked by a computer then......probably their biggest game of the season () guaranteeing maximum income from the off that should see them at least limp through August. So a full house (no doubt with 1000s locked out), big (ish) payday and off to a winning start at home. Hope it all goes to plan then......said Pinnochio.

Two new big LED screens at St Mary's for 2012/13
alehouseboys replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
If St Marys was filled with people like 'The Saints' pub regulars every home match then it would be a vast improvement on a lot of whinging snobs we get now. -
OK, so we've established the home kit's gonna look like this... ...and the away is white, so can we assume it's gonna be this...?

Shirley will be lively tonight then.
