    Puel out

I don't think anyone thought we would make the top 4 at any point this season and we were closer to the relegation scrap than to the place immediately above us so don't really see your point here.
  2. I agree. I'm not saying I think a manager will convince them, I'm merely repeating what LeG said.
  3. Monk resigning is certainly an interesting development but doesn't really fit with LeG's suggestion that we know we need to get a big name to convince players to stay.

    Puel out

The footballing world also didn't want/think that Ranieri should be sacked but its hard to deny that Shakespeare improved them. I bet your Leicester supporting mate would admit they were watching dross under Claudio at the end.
  5. Why does the best of the rest league suddenly not include Everton? We've finished above them a couple of times in recent years so seems slightly convenient to exclude them from being in our league the season they overtake us?
  6. Meeting is tomorrow apparently. We should find out then I hope.
  7. Are you serious?!
  8. Good post.
  9. Fair enough. I'm in a similar situation to you and have seen it go wrong. I want a chance as I don't see us kicking on under Puel but I'm not 100% confident in our board to get the right man in.
  10. If you look at his stats since he came to the Prem he's in the top 5/6 assist makers in the league I think. I'm not sure I'd be quite so confident of the black box replacing a player who on his day is genuine top quality.
  11. To be fair today was the first time I heard anyone signing for Puel's head. Out of interest, do you have a season ticket? If you do then fair play for being so objective. I'm trying to be but on the basis that we've only scored 17 times in 19 games (and on the basis 9 of those were scored in, I think, three games) I'm really struggling to get excited about another season watching a Claude Puel saints team.
  12. Who would you replace him with?
  13. Definitely stay. We would have no chance of attracting a player of superior or even equivalent quality at the moment.
  14. I made a run for it before that. Care to expand?
  15. Spot on. People on here banging on about it as an achievement is as irritating as citing a League Cup final that we lost as some kind of job saving achievement for Puel. I applaud him for taking the LC seriously but that's probably about it. The strength of team we faced away at Arsenal in the quarters shows how little stock the big teams put in that competition. None of that is to say I didn't enjoy the day though.
  16. Can't believe we have only seen four more Saints goals at home all season than Spurs have scored in their last two games.
  17. 46 points wouldn't be far off relegation in some seasons...didn't West Ham once go down on 41/42? If we'd have gotten that many last year it would have been 13th or so I think.
  18. Thankfully neither will Puel next week.
  19. It's the last game of the season! If he's so unfit that he can't last another 30 mins then he shouldn't have started.
  20. It's the last game of the season, we need a goal and he's a professional athlete so yes, I would expect it possible for him to last another 30 mins.
  21. Austin off. Another joke decision. Crowd has gone mad. He's a goner.
  22. Crowd singing for Puel to go.
  23. Crouch. 1-0. See you Puel, don't let the door hit you.
  24. Bielsa?
  25. Don't understand the rationale in these striker selections at all. Austin goes from unused sub in a game where we need a goal to starting and JRod goes from starter, to first used sub to not in the squad. Just bizarre.
